hi all,
I'm currently bfing my 10-month old and just had my first case of plugged duct/mastitis this past weekend. I'd had mastitis due to general engorgement when weaning my first child but other than that, this was my first experience with it!

So I was trying to figure out why I suddenly got mastitis after nursing successfully for so long without it. LO hasn't changed any habits. I haven't changed bras. The only thing different is that I've changed up my classes at the gym to do more weight/strength training and less zumba/cardio. So I googled, and saw a few anecdotal stories of people who had developed mastitis as a result of chest-strengthening exercises.

Wondering if any of you have experienced this? I guess it makes sense - any change in muscles in the chest might compress the ducts...? But I've already had to cut back on high-impact aerobics due to shin splints... so really don't want to have to limit even further what I can do.
