I nursed my first born until 15 months, and I plateaued at about 10lbs over pre-pregnancy weight until he weaned. I'm currently nursing my second, who is 18 months, and once again leveled out at the same weight as the first time. I've just started back on SP trying to get past this plateau, and have found that the weeks I average 300 calories/day over my starting caloric goal are the weeks I lose successfully. So I have added Breastfeeding as a workout under my favorites, so I can see those calories added to my daily intake. For me it's been enough of a difference in what I eat to stave off the hunger, but is still helping me make progress.

I feel your pain momma! My LO is now 14 months and only nurses 1-3 a day but even still my weight refuses to budge. My doctor (who is also nursing her 20 month old) has the same issues and told me to just maintain the best I can until she weans.

I guess it is better to hold on to those extra 5lbs than to be gaining emoticon

My younger son is 7-1/2 months old, and primarily nurses. He gets a mix of babyfood and pumped bottles at daycare while I'm at work, and only has "tastes" of what I'm eating at home. I would consider him about 90% breastfed right now.

I'm having trouble losing weight. When I attempt to track and stay within my calorie range, I end up feeling starving by dinner time and overeat drastically. I don't think it could be mistaken thirst, because I normally drink 7+ bottles of water per day (3.5L, 14 cups)

I'm at least doing well in regards to overall weight gain - I'm only sitting at about 6lbs over my pre-pregnancy weight, although I've actually gained about 10lbs over this past spring. With my older son, I dropped a lot of weight in the beginning as well and then regained it all and more before his first birthday...I would like to avoid that step this time! I weighed 10lbs over PP with him, after being at 18lbs under. This time I had only gotten as low as 5lbs under.
