Still the baby afghan and basketweave afghan, and am almost done with sock #1 for my SIL. Hopefully I won't get SSS before I get the pair finished!

Blessed be.

I can tell you what is NOT on my needles.... I just totally ripped out 2 socks. I didn't like the way the toes were "boxey" and didn't like the way the heels looked.......so out they went.
I now have 2 balls of un-done yarn and I'll give it another try.

The Multnomah Shawl for my mom's birthday is DONE! And off the needles, now to block it. I was watching "The IN Crowd" last night and started the Anthemion Wrap that's in the new Knitty. I am doing it in Malibrigo Lace Merino in te Butter color, should be pretty.

Mom's Multnomah Shawl is almost done, just the last row to finish and then binding it off. I am going to attempt the wrap from the current issue of Knitty for myself, so we'll see how that goes, when I finish mom's gift.

Greetings from steamy and hot North Carolina!

I am knitting a Kiwi Bird; my second. Toys are my favorite projects. Even my 20-something kids and their friends love them. Before toys, I was on a sock craze all winter, and before that, just scarves for years. I like those handpuppets and have added them to my list of things to make. I like knitting because I like to make things, and since I live in a small apt. now, the scale of knitting suits me also.

I've not knit those, but they are way cute. Unless they would feel all twisty feeling to wear.

I'm in the market for hand puppet patterns if anyone has any they like. I've decided an assortment of puppets is what my 3 year old niece will need for Christmas.

Our knitting group is constantly making lapghans KingKronberg .. there is a constant need at the local hospital. It's all good tho, we get to make the 8x8 squares any way we want .. and we've got our own 'sew it together' angel! lol

I finally picked up my dh's sock .. I had turned the heel, dropped some stitches, picked them up and put it away!! lol Today I picked up stitches on the gusset and started that. Felt good to get back to it. Hope to have them done for Christmas (they are my back-burner project!).

I just discovered a new yarn shop in the area. And here I'd thought I'd just finish up with the odds and ends I already had before purchasing more. (-:
Am working on another prayer shawl right now, and have another set of needles with another baby blanket. Seems there's been an unlimited need for both types of projects at our church.

Hmmm...you might have something there, Angelica... Let's see, how about if we all think of some excuses for why we knit...

1. If God didn't want us to knit, he wouldn't have invented sheep, goats, alpacas, etc.

Anyone who wants to add, post your ideas and I'll compile them.

This week end I started to finish all the pairs where the second sock is still missing. Some time ago I had bought a blue and white striped cotton which I thought would make a nice pair of socks for my son, but he did not like it. So when my colleague who always works nights with me, said she just loved blue and stripes, I knew exactly what to do with my cotton. She always gets a pair for her birthday. (I used to make socks with a frilly edge for her, but that drives her dog crazy and he then tries to bite her feet! emoticon ) Have a nice day all!

Hello, Becky, when are we getting the first YA newsletter??? emoticon

Just started a beaded ascot(similar to the beaded scarves I make)for my mother. I am thinking that I will have enough yarn and beads to make beaded wrist warmers and another beaded ascot with the same yarn and a different color beads for myself.
And as always I have a beaded purse in white that will be perfect for a wedding.

Fished the bag but I am not sure if I want to keep it. Right now it is still hanging in the bathroom waiting for things to happen. I might just unravel it and change it into felted socks. Hmm...
Started another sock experiment and so far it is looking good. Second sock with the canadian flag is almost done.
Have a nice week end all.

I could NOT wait to try felting,so I bought this beautiful wool and went right ahead. The "french market bag" is a lot bigger than I anticipated and although I bought 400 grams of wool I won't have enough. But it looks so nice. Embroidered the second sock with the canadian flag last night (work slowed down after a bumpy start emoticon )and still have to finish the second green one for me...

I haven't picked up my needles in 2-3 weeks. I need to assess where I am in every project that I have started and finish something. I know I have a sweater, afghan, shawl, sock and scarf going.
Too hot to work on the afghan! Maybe I should finish the sock and scarf first.

I've been wondering what a goth doll would look like. I do hope you'll post pics!

I just finished making some absurdly large googly eyes for a froggy hat for my friend's baby. He's due in 2 weeks, so I'm hoping to get a couple more goofball hats finished up for him by then.

Because sooner or later the kid will be a teenager and starting to date, best to have some ridiculous photos of him in a froggy hat before then.

continuing with the knitted pink prayer shawl for a breast cancer patient, and crocheting a striped prayer shawl. Got a couple of patterns to try for squares, and a male lapgan or afghan for the project. Got a couple more members for my church group so that I think I will try to send a little newsy letter to help keep people interested during the summer when we have lay services instead of a minister.

Finished the green sock for me, started a pink one because I had an idea for a pattern and wanted to see what it would look like, still have one sock for my daughter to finish and the second green one. And then, while browsing through knitty I found the maple leaf that I have been looking for some time ago. This means a second pair of "canadian" socks for my son's friend. Unfortunately I also saw a felted purse and my fingers are itching to try it. emoticon

I like my weight loss ticker because it shows me that reaching the stars is possible.

I started a pair of men's basic socks in a orange/red/black/brown variegated. They were going to be for my kid but I found a yarn he liked better so maybe these will go to my son in law...who knows?

Blessed be.
