I can run (very slowly) a 5K. He is one of the iFit trainers I use on my treadmill. So motivational!

Pretty cool! The Houston Marathon was my first one. It's a very good race if you ever get a chance to run.

An iFit coach I use on my treadmill has been competing to be part of the Olympic Running team. He was unable to complete the Huston Marathon after a leg injury during the race.

He is so inspiring that I wanted to share his message after the race here:

Almost a perfect day today. Almost.
覧覧覧覧覧覧覧覧-
Before I get too far into this I want to say thank you, to all of you. For being so kind to me. For encouraging and lifting me. It痴 likely we致e never met. It痴 possible we値l never meet. Thank you though. Sincerely. It means the world to me, truly. It makes this all feel bigger than just my own little dreams and aspirations. It makes me feel like I知 running for all of us. Which pushes me beyond what I壇 be capable of on my own, and to be honest, it makes my heart break when days end like today. This was our last shot to make it to the Olympic Trials. And it should have happened. At least that痴 how it felt. But as a wise soul named @bromka recently said, 典he marathon owes you nothing. And so it was today.
.
.
It was cold. The wind was shifty and unhelpful. But a ragtag group of dreamers and last-chancers gathered and stacked up together. We charged into the headwinds and battle cried our way into the wind. I stopped looking at splits and just raged forward. Around mile 23 I went to make a move. I知 hesitant to say this, because it is so rare that deep in a race, but it felt effortless. More than that even. I was choking on prudence so I spit the bit and shook off the bridle and began to charge. It seemed impossible that I would not run 2:16. There was no doubt in my mind. And then, a sharp turn and an unseen pothole. My left foot sunk and my knee buckled. And in an instant, I was on the ground, unable to get back up. And that was it. I tried to stand a half a dozen times but each time I fell back to the pavement. I sat there in unbeand buried my face in my hands and cried. And then slowly, after another three tries and fails, I looked up and smiled with tearful eyes. What a trip it痴 been. What a gift to be alive. This is a rough one. It痴 not good. It痴 gonna take a bit. But I値l be back. You cannot keep me down. Today eventually kicked my ass, but today can go to hell. Tomorrow will be mine, and all of ours. This dance is only just beginning. Oh, and also, my boy @lionscull is going to the Olympics. If you don稚 follow that beautiful SOB you池e missing out. Rage on @lionscull @ Chevron Houston Marathon

I'm not doing the Team Goals thing - I find that goal-tracking on Spark very cumbersome. I use my Garmin fitness tracker for my steps/runs/distance etc, and am also doing a virtual long-distance walking challenge on another team.

I track my running on here in the 'Making it a habit' thread in the Challenges Forum.

I can't cope with more places to track! Sorry! Thanks for all the inspiration.

I follow someone called Alistair Jones on twitter (RunningMrJones) who posts inspirational poems. This one is about losing your mojo!

If you lose your running mojo
Are there things you can do
Maybe try these suggestions
One might work for you
Find a good friend to run with
Buy new kit for your run
Set a goal you can work to
Plan new routes, keep it fun

Don稚 give up or feel despair
Soon your mojo will be there

Mirage,
its rare here that it gets too hot to run. However, the past 2 or 3 summers have been hotter than usual (I'm in Nova Scotia) so there are times I might choose the TM in the summertime. I am so glad that we just got a new one, the old one was pretty rickety and unreliable.

Speaking of triathlons, I did my first one last year. A sprint distance. My husband has done a few ironmans and half-ironmans. So, I guess he keeps me motivated! emoticon

Yesterday I did a 14K treadmill run, long easy training run.

It was delicious! Crazy to think that cabbage could be so much like a noodle. I have a whole pan to myself because dh says he is not eating it. LOL
Yesterday I did W6D2 of my training plan, easy 30 minute run. I have a hard time doing anything like this after work so I'm happy. Wednesday will be intervals.

My next run will be outside. (hopefully!)

today I was suppose to do a long easy run, ended up with 14K. Can't believe I mustered that out on the treadmill. I listened to music for the first while and then watched Netflix. lol.

I am making a cabbage lasagna today, cabbage replaces the noodles. It looked really good on youtube, so we'll see I guess.

Today was an interval session on the treadmill. I actually had an awesome run. My average pace was much better than just last week, I am feeling quite happy! After getting off the TM I went outside and realized how nice it was and that I could have ran outside. Oh well. Maybe tomorrow.

Thanks! I did enjoy spending time with my sister. She doesn't really live that far away (1/2 hr) but we don't see each other as much as we could.
Yes, wine.....is my weakness! lol I always want that second glass. lol

I definitely feel a big difference between running or walking outside vs inside. I may try a run outside this week, I think its giving some warmer weather on Thursday, maybe Wednesday. Hoepfully my body will take it well. lol We don't have sidewalks here so only if the shoulder of the road is clear of snow and ice.

Today my running plan tells me to run 30 minutes easy. Sounds good to me. emoticon

Wow getting up today was hard! I am usually up at 6am when I am working so today seemed like 5am I guess. Had a pretty good weekend, my sister visited on Saturday night so it was nice to spend some time with her. There was wine involved. emoticon

I work part-time/casual in a dental office and Mondays is a day that I am always on the schedule to work. So it is typically my "rest" day, no exercise today. Yesterday I did a PiYo workout. Tomorrow the program I am following calls for an easy 30 min run.

Woke up this morning with a huge kink in my neck! Not sure what I did in the night but sure feeling it this morning!

I haven't run outside in quite some time. Right after Christmas we had it pretty good for awhile....but then winter really set in. So, I am mostly on the treadmill. I can't wait for spring and to get outside again!

On Weds we did get about 8 inches of snow. Lucky because other parts got up to 15". Then when they plowed our street the end of our driveway was over 2 feet deep. Glad hubby got home and could get the snowblower started because shoveling was no fun.

Keep at it. I live in a ranch style house but we do have a basement. Sometimes my exercise is just walking up and down the stairs for 10 minutes. Google chair exercises. There are some that take very little room and help with working various muscle groups. You got this girl!!!

I belonged to a gym and really enjoyed using the pool. But that gym became too expensive so I joined a cheaper gym. Wow pool was always full of unsupervised kids and it had a wall of glass between it and the area with the machines. I got tired of all the men looking in trying to see I don't know what. But I do miss going to the pool as that is my favorite exercise.

I'm waking up my mojo- I signed up for half marathon in June and am going to do a 10K in March.
Not so into racing really but it keeps me training!

Because of cold and wind I will be starting out rebounding and doing my DVD's and ST.
ST is important for running!
and ofd course flexiblity- I am going to be 58 in May-
