Morning all,

I agree about the advil/aspirin deal. My sister in law's sister told her (the sister is a nurse) but I said the same thing - I'll just email my doctor and ask HER. I prefer the medical degree over fb and google thank you.

Jessie decided that 4:45 was an excellent time for cuddles (again, no boundaries for social distancing). I keep reminding myself that I wanted this...Ö. anyway, dishwasher already going and heading downstairs to do laundry. List is in the center of the kitchen island and going to spend the next hour cleaning the house. Since I did most last week it will be quick to just do a new wipe down of counters and vacuum etc. Then it's on to the tile/tub in bathroom. After that I'll decide what's next.

Sue - still keeping your family in my thoughts and prayers.
Laura - praying Little Lola is doing better this morning.
Dawn - always praying for your health and safety. All of our essential workers!
Janine - WAHOOOO - way to go on the first chapter! Awesome news
Elizabeth - how goes the battle? Managing without the washer?

Have a safe and healthy day everyone. If you can get out for a walk it's supposed to be somewhat nice today...Ö..Tomorrow we have rain. If only it could wash all these germs away.

Maryanne

Dawn - no problem cheering and encouraging in my DNA

ON FB I had a woman tell go ahead and die when I said check the facts about Advil/ibruptofen with your own medical team not the internet because there are varied reports = we did. I said nice attitude for your community. I reported her but many on that board went after her because they know me and it got ugly. I actually left the group

Update on Lola - spending the night at the Vet hospital. Oscar has his consult on Monday ... sigh. My poor grand pups

Ross is trying to help and a true germaphobe and is truly concerned Christina is helping a bit. She is working from home now for the duration

No one planned dinner - Ross is working at 10 pm. CHART HOUSE to the rescue. He delivers FOR FREE to me plus all take out orders 20% off

Great fish dinner

I have one adopted who is rather snarky and tonight she made a comment on a post about mt new cocoa blend and I put my foot down

Oh and did I tell you I had an email from one of the elders wivs asking me what was up and like poof I was gone from FB and church? Sent her the long list and 24 hours later wish you well kiss off and I had an issue with a w2 and the financial secretary called also an elder just addressed the w2 issue and said we miss seeing yiu in church - I was nice and said some thug nice!,

So that and dealing with covid-19;BTW where was covid 1-18;? And My brace. Think my arm or wrist should have one too and Colie

ITS BEEN JUST DUCKY

germ free hugs to all of you

Yeah Janine, that really IS good news that you have done the first chapter and turned it in!!! Thank you for sharing some good news.

Laura, thank you for cheering me on. I took a very long walk today after 3pm when I was fairly sure I had at least an hour to walk. Plenty of space to walk here and keep clear of others. There were literally NO other walkers out in the woods...unless you count the ticks! Anywho, it helped me to feel better. I was just doing SO bad this morning and itís not like me so Iím kind of worried Iím cracking before we really even get into the thick of it. Also not like me. I miss my kids and my grandkids and all of that. Face time helps but I love playing with my grandkids. We run around and we swing on swings and go for long walks. Itís just a hard time to not be doing all of that.
So, I just let myself have a good boohoo after I read some of the news today. I just needed to let it out. That and the long walk really was very cathartic.
I hope Lola is ok. This is a very rough time for something like that to be happening.

Sounds like the stress level at your house might be a little over the top too. But, Ross and Christina need to realize that Colie absolutely can not get this. Absolutely. We have young, healthy people with NO past medical history getting vented and crashing. They have to do everything possible to protect him from this. Everything. I donít care if they have to strip naked in the kitchen and wash their clothes immediately and then sanitize the washer every single day. Itís absolutely worth it to keep him healthy. We have to get him thru this without being at risk at all.

My last thought on the people who are taking this all as a joke like the people coughing on store employees etc. I say that we stick them all in one room together for a week or 2 and see how funny they find this whole thing then. Lock the door. Throw their meals under the door. Make them all share the same bathroom, shower etc. Then weíll see if they take it seriously enough!!! Sounds better than prison to me. Then they can all infect each other, since itís a joke anyways and be stuck in that room while they watch each other get really sick. Then they can see if they will find a nurse that is willing to take care of them. It wouldnít be ME thatís for sure. Canít breathe? Oh, you MUST be joking right? Sounds harsh? Watch a healthy person get COVID die from it. Thatís harsh.

Ok. My second rant for the day is over. Like I said, I think Iím cracking kind of early in the game. Letís hope I can get a handle on it before it gets much worse.

Please, you all, stay well. Please.

I don't even want to touch door handles. Licking toilets on a non-pandemic day doesn't seem like an appealing idea so why the heck would anyone want to do it now that there is this horrible virus killing people!? I cannot even....

On a brighter note....I turned in my first chapter! 2 more to go.

Stay safe everyone.

Dawn - I saw something saying a 21 year old that was licking a toilet now has tested positive - not sure if it's true or not but again...ÖÖÖÖÖ.WHY. You are right thou, these are the idiots that are dragging things even further.

Well them and the group of boys I just saw go skateboarding by in shorts and tee shirts and NOT more than a foot apart. Shoving at each other and laughing like they are on extended spring break. Just infuriates me that because of all these idiots I'm stuck in my house.

As for the store - you bet I wear gloves and as little as it might help I will have a scarf over my face. I have sanitizer in my bag and will use that on myself afterwards (until I get home) and the gloves are an old pair that will stay in the trunk. I'm not playing with this stuff.

Now my SIL said she was told No aspirin, no advil, and no ibuprofen?? Is that true? If so, why isn't THAT being blasted all over the news?

Sorry for the rant...ÖÖ..

I will pray that you don't get called in but yeah, I can't imagine that's looking good for you.

Laura - Praying for Lola that it's only an infection - poor baby. Glad Colie is improving and good for you for setting not just outside boundaries but phone ones too!

Hi All

Yes nice sunshine but with all that is going on a cloud over everything

Remember when we got grounded as kids or teens - this is more like an imposed grounding and it is even harder to stay home

Beth continues to shop and drop it off for us. her Lola had surgery today - Lola is her dog - they may have to amputate her leg but the doctor wanted to send out the tissue because he said it appeared to be different - Lola did have a tumor removed from her voulva today and it was a CLEAN removal and that was the one they were worried about and I am praying that the foot/toe issue is nothing but a messy infection! Want to be hopeful We are paying for her surgeries and Beth will pay us back - GOT to give the dog a chance - Oscar needs surgery too but that should not b as much. Poor Beth all the world going on SHE is instacart shopping with MASK, gloves, hand saunter up the wazoo

Colie is improving on the prednisone and actually said he feels better - but I did go ballast on EVERYONE the other night - Colie for not testing his O2 when he got up the stairs and other things, the other tow for EVERYTHING messy in the house ROFL

I have told them all lets let me relax at night and I have cut off one of my adopted who is an in abusive relationship, is an alcoholic and a few other things. CUT HER off from calling after 9 pm. I need to limit her problems which SHE will not address and not have THAT on my mind before I go to bed - that is one of the reasons my BP skyrockets

BTW BP managing very well

I sent to huge boxes of individual wrapped candy bars from Phillips Chocolate here in Boston to our lung team and our PCP team and thanked them for ALL they are doing

HAVE not gained weight hru this - SURPRISING

I found a company online like Omaha steaks but they do so much more than steaks - ordered a turkey breast that your cook in a bag - and will cook that for Easter - but was called SAcwan's Home service - prices weren't bad and delivery is a bit out there BUT more options for some fun foods like quesadillas and such I just want a BIGGER variety and want to eliminate a lot of shopping for Beth.

STAY SAFE ALL

Hey all,

I could enjoy this sunshine a whole lot more if we didnít have this pandemic looming over us like a Godzilla of some sort.

Sue, Iím sure this whole loss is like a kick in the gut for you all. I am just so sorry. I am praying that God will give you peace. Hugs honey.

Maryanne, I get SO irate when everyone gets spanked for one personís recklessness. Sorry thatís how your day started.
Wear gloves to the grocery store and wash your hands as soon as you get home. If you can sanitize your steering wheel after you get home that would be good as well.

Everyone else, I hope you are all staying in. I am seeing the reports of these idiots coughing on people and licking food and all of that. They should absolutely be punished. The woman who coughed on $35,000 worth of meat, vegetables etc at a grocery store should be made to pay it back. If she dies and has insurance, the store should be refunded from her insurance for sure. Itís just outrageous the things people are doing. This alone will be the thing that causes our nation to have one of the highest death rates amongst us all. The kicker is that these same ďpeopleĒ are the ones who will demand the best of care from us in the medical profession. I say we put them on morphine and let em go. I am not the least inspired to take care of people who behave without regard for anyone else. Why should WE care for them? Thatís where Iím at mentally. We have people who are truly victims and those idiots are making more victims. Theyíll be sorry for their actions someday. They truly will.

Sorry guys, Iím sort of on a negative bent here. I am going to have to get myself together mentally b/c this thing is just getting started. But, Iím not even sure Iím going to survive it myself and thatís the long and short of it. Iím doing my best but when you have people behaving in a destructive manner it makes me worry that this will not be gone any time soon. God help us all....except for the ones that act like that!!!!

Ok, I hope everyone can get out into the sunshine today. I am on call 3-11. So far no call but Iím almost positive Iíll be called in for 7pm til 11. The schedule for the rest of the month is not so good. Iím just going to hang in there as best as possible.
Sue, you take care of yourself please.

Morning all, Happy Friday...ÖÖ..I guess. Not like we can go out and party and celebrate the weekend.

Sue - you are still very much in my thoughts and prayers this morning.

Nothing else here. The day started with a lecture from my boss on communication because he was not notified of something. Too bad I had TOLD the lead to tell him and she ignored me so thus, we had to sit thru a lecture like bad students. Great way to start the day. I have a few tasks I have to get thru but hopefully it will be a quiet day. Last night I updated my task list and will try to accomplish a little more over the weekend after I take my cousin grocery shopping. Still not happy I have to do that because she chose to be obstinate about this whole thing. Now I am stuck going into a grocery store unnecessarily and being exposed to extra germs. I can't stand these people that are just not taking all this seriously - they are doing nothing but causing it to go on even longer! Right now my nephew and his wife (Annabel's house) are doing self quarantine (I think they are on day 6 or 7 because Becca wants to see her mother. So they are self quarantining for a little over 14 days to be sure because her mom has Lou Gehrig's. They have to be extremely cautious and even when she goes to visit her they will have to sit in separate rooms and the baby will not go.

Meanwhile we have IMBECILES licking toilets! I just honestly don't know what to say about that...Ö...yes I do WHY???? just WHY?

Ok, I have to get back to work. Hope you all have a wonderful safe and healthy day. It's getting very nice out there so get out if you can. Even to walk around the block.

Oh Sue - I don't really have any words - I'm truly just so very sorry for your family loss. Please know that you are in all of our thoughts and prayers.

Dawn - we can only keep repeating ourselves in saying PLEASE stay safe. We are all facetiming with Jacob. His dad actually does twice a day......every morning and night. And Tiger Bear and Whalie (his whale from Sea World) are now home safe and sound so everyone is happy. Althou he did scold Whalie saying it was his fault that they pulled an all nightery as Tiger Bear would never do that.........Ö.the mind of a 5 1/2 year old!

Stay strong and healthy my friends

Hey all,

Oh gosh Sue, Iím so terribly sorry. They must have decided that his quality of life would be non-existent if he EVER got extubated. Iím just so sorry. Many hugs my friend.
I hope you donít end up in a house full of clients that donít know how to keep clean. Can you wear a mask?

Maryanne, thatís good you get to see Jacob thru the glass. Please be careful out there. You and Jacob should face time at least once a week so that you can see him and talk to him.

Laura, Elizabeth and Janine, I hope you are all still doing well and staying safe.

Bifís mom, from IL, mailed a box of 4 masks to Biz to give me. I wanted to cry. That was just the sweetest thing ever. I thank God for the support of the public. I really do. Weíre under a lot of stress and duress. Iím seeing that in NY the nurses have taken to wearing plastic garbage bags into the rooms b/c they are out of gowns. Nurses in CA have started refusing assignments b/c theyíre being asked to go into the rooms without masks. That is unacceptable and I would do the exact same thing. I call that manslaughter or second....no actually, first degree murder b/c itís premeditated and without thought of consequence to the person being afflicted. Nurses are going to have to rise up and say ďnoĒ to those kinds of demands.

Ok, I have to run to the store. Iím wearing gloves and wiping every, single package down when it comes into the house.

You all stay safe. Stay home if you can.

HA HA HAH A HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA! Janine FIRE that cleaning woman right now! HA HA HA HA HA HA. I can't believe I didn't catch that.

SO, after being locked in this house since last Friday I went to the grocery store about an hour or so ago. It was fine as I was only going for fruit and veggies and the store was fairly empty but now I feel so cheated of my outing...ÖÖ...sigh, I'm already home again.

HOWEVER - there is another sneaky outing in the works - We have our own national emergency right here in MA - Tiger Bear is not yet home and Jacob is ready to have a MAJOR meltdown. Tiger Bear is his constant companion and somehow got left at daddy's house over the weekend. He was transported to Grammie's house and was to arrive home last night. Well, mom called Karen and said it was fine she could wait to bring him back and I don't have to tell you how well that went over! Now Jacob is freaking out because Tiger Bear was only supposed to have ONE sleepover and come home - he's in a complete panic that his best friend (yes he is stuffed) will get the coron-knee virus. So Karen is meeting them at a 1/2 way point to do a swap off and asked if I wanted in on the action. We can't hug him or anything but at least we can see him thru the car window...........sigh, So it's the best we can do and instead of us driving together (which of course is what we would normally do) I am taking my own car so we can all stay apart but at least wave to each other. I haven't seen him in several weeks so I'll take it...ÖÖ

So something bright to look forward to once I get off this last conference call.

Hey you all,

So good to see everyone here. It really is.

We had the most stunning sunrise at work this morning. I got all distracted and found myself standing outside a closed COVID room just so I could see the beautiful sky! Then it was back to work.

Sue, are they even letting people INTO the post office or do you have to drop mail from the outside? How does that work? The only time I ever go to the post office any more is at Christmas to mail gifts.

Elizabeth, donít you hate it when work evasive people act stupid like your accountant does. You must want to strangle him sometimes. How do you keep from biting his head off?

Janine, thatís hysterical!!! Iím glad you can poke fun at yourself like that. But, when Iím feeling totally unmotivated to scrub things I do make a list, like Laura said. I used to clean houses for a living before I became a nurse. So, it would be hard for me to turn over that responsibility to anyone. Iím not nearly as OCD as I used to be but, I keep it clean and organized.

Laura, I hope and pray that Colieís lung issues improve somewhat. Heís got the best nurse in the world taking care of him!! Thatís good that you guys could do the tele medicine. I think thatís going to be an up and coming method of normal, healthy people to get their medical care without having to expose themselves to allll kinds of crud out there.
Also glad that you arenít letting those guys bully you into moving at this time. Just incredible to me that they would think they could do that.

My posting got interrupted by a Face Time session with Bear and Teddy. Teddy is zooming along with a walker toy I got him for Christmas. Heís going to be walking on his own soon. Rob says they are having trouble keeping him away from the stairs. He LOVES to climb, which is amazing b/c this kid is probably the most solid baby I have EVER seen in my life!!!

Maryanne, how has work been for you this week? Are you able to get stuff done? Is it any different for you from any other day or does the COVID issue invade your workspace as well? Youíre such a social person outside of work. It must be hard not to see everyone youíre used to spending time with. Face time helps me a lot.

It was super busy last night. We had 13 COVIDS/ suspected COVIDS. Thatís 13 out of 24 beds. Over 1/2 of those were over 80 yrs old. I said, ďwell, this wonít be happening this time next weekĒ. And itís true. All of these really elderly people who have so many co-morbidities are not going to be put on ventilators and kept ďaliveĒ b/c they donít have a quality of life at baseline. We have a real problem here in America. We think we can live forever. But, much of the time, we lose sight of what ďlivingĒ means. If you ask any relatively healthy person who is younger if they consider laying in a bed with a breathing tube stuffed in your neck and a feeding tube in your stomach for the rest of your life is living they will tell you ďnoĒ. But, we get these people who are clearly at the end of their lives and we TORTURE them to the very last breath and itís really awful. I hope we donít allow that to happen here. If it gets as bad as it is in Italy then we wonít have a choice. Iím not sure how Iíll deal with that seriously. Itís one thing for it to be a choice but quite another when the people involved really donít have any other choice. I think those of us in healthcare are going to be dealing with some PTSD for quite some time after all is said and done....if we survive.
Itís getting very dodgy out there. I heard that some poor nurse who was on her way to work in clean scrubs stopped at the grocery store to get herself something to eat at work and people beat her up. They told her she was ďdirtyĒ and beat the stuffing out of her!!!! Thatís just SO nice!!! Those same idiots will be the ones banging on the hospital doors demanding the BEST of nursing care!!!! I never thought Iíd see the day.

Ok, I have some stuff to get done. Going to watch last nightís episode of Biggest Loser. Tonight is just yoga and deep breathing. Nothing else on the agenda. Work clothes are in the dryer. They came off when I got home and into their own basket. Work shoes are in special plastic boxes in my car. They get changed in the parking garage before I leave work.

You all stay safe. Have a really nice night.

Hi all,

Janine - I got that! The Amazon Prime movies gave it away. I think you and I have a similar weakness. I have great plans for when I get home but so far not happening.

Yes I am coming into the office but it is no different than if I were to talk a walk. No lie - it registers less than 1500 steps for me to get to the office. We are working on refinancing our building mortgage (for work) and I would have difficulty doing this at home. Plus I would have trouble focusing. I am being very careful on my way to and from work. This morning I was met by the elevator folks. They were here to inspect the elevator. I thought it was cancelled. We passed!

Of course my accountant is "working" from home which is fine with me if he was working. He came up with another excuse as his connection went away. Turns out he didn't log in correctly. It is the same way you log in from here. That is about 6 hours of wasted time.

Laura - so glad you are able to see your doctors by computer. And you are so right to put your foot down about moving.

Maryanne - hope this week is going by quickly

Sue - hope you are surviving the office.

Dawn - know we are all so thankful for you. Hope you are staying safe and sane with all of this. I am sure you are having to deal with each more crazy people than usual.

Ugh I too lost a post

Janine - is she from an agency or someone you have? Do you pay taxes on her salary or under the table?

If agency tell them she is not up to
Snuff

If you or Mario hired her then you have options

1. Want to keep her - write out a check list of what you expect her to do - tell her moving forward she has a two time (how often does she come weekly-biweekly-monthly) and give her TWO times to clean to your checklist/standard

2. Flat out tell her you are not doing the work I pay you to do and I am letting you go

Janine I was also the HR manager for the Construction company and handles many many different workers.

But YOU ARE WASTING YOUR HARD EARNED $$$ and yiu should come home to a lovely cleaned home after work. When I worked and walked in I was always grateful to my cleaner - and even with our dog Linus the house always looked great and it does now.

Maryanne.....I would love to fire myself, but is that possible? Mario certainly doesn't do much around here for cleaning beyond dishes and laundry so who will? This lazy cleaning lady does not want to spend her days cleaning! Elvis likes having her (me) home too much.

Ugh, I have lost my post TWICE!

Happy Wednesday folks

Janine - question - if she's so inefficient, why do you keep her on? Or is she just being 'lazy' now during everything going on?

Laura - praying things improve for both you and Colie and soon. As for the moving - yeah please try to not get stressed out about it. Just like you said NOPE - NOT HAPPENING - end of story.

Dawn - how are you doing today? Hope work last night wasn't too brutal.

Elizabeth - glad your dad is doing ok. Please be cautious going back and forth to the office. I realize there are only 2 or so of you in there but still do be careful.

Sue - hopefully you have a quieter day today and aren't out running around.

So, the idiots in Washington finally agreed to a deal...Ö...now we have to figure out how to get congress to pass it without bringing them all back for a vote. WHAT IS TO FIGURE OUT - in a time like this agree to do the call in vote. OMG so ridiculous what big babies we have representing this country. I can't stand it. He said, she said, he did, she did - just shut up and work together.

Annnnnnnnyway. No surprise that it's cloudy again today. Do you best to have a good day all.

Maryanne

Laura...my cleaning lady has been showing up but she's pretty unmotivated and wants to just sit on the couch all day with Elvis. She acts like she is has all the time in the world to do things. Goodness this girl needs to get her act into high gear and stop watching all those dang Amazon Prime movies. She did do the laundry and some dishes today though. Be thankful y'all don't have this lazy cus as your housekeeper!

We did a tel-health phone call with Colieís lung doctor. He pulled up Colieís February X-ray and thought maybe a shadow he showed us. Anyhow steroids 40 mg x 5 days. If anything changes we are to call. The whole point is to avoid any trips to the hospital. And anyone in to see us.

Again no temp or anything else. Holding off on ABX -( antibiotics ) for now.

I now have a very tiny mini cheesecake in the oven. Got a free Godiva mix from Star and it is a brownie cheesecake swirl. Not very big and I said why not ( my gosh my Dadís favorite saying as she sheds a tear)

And to boot Zeus is pretty sick he is on the way to the Vets
Lindsay get Bear Ďs results he has a week to 6 months she is a wreck
Waiting fir Oscar and Lolaís surgery

On a bright note we talked about the horses with the lung doctor.

And DAWN. Yes you are right it may be longer than people think. Our PCP told us that

And HELL NO AINT PLANNING A MOVE

Hey all,

Itís so good to hear from everyone. Where is Janine? Sheís usually here pretty early.

Talk about wind and rain!!! I had in earplugs and I could still hear it howling out there. Itís very unnerving for me. I am not a fan of strong winds. Not even when I have a kite to fly;)

Maryanne, I know you get tired of sitting at the computer but there are some puzzle games you can play as well.
I just watched a Twitter feed from Ellen DeGeneres where she is talking to Michelle Obama. Both said they are working out a lot at home. I love both of those women!!!

Laura, the last thing you and Colie need is that level of stress. It will make you spill cortisol and lower your immune system. Try to do some deep breathing exercises and focus on God. He is the one that is going to get you all thru this. These days we all feel a little out of control. Itís more detrimental to some than others. Colie should not be moving anywhere right now and, the way itís looking, May could be an ambitious deadline. Hang in there.

Sue, that is fantastic thinking on your part to get the rolls rather than bread!!! Good for you. Itís so cute that they all liked it so much. Something new and different to try.
For us at the hospital itís not paper itís computer documentation. Every 4 hrs we document a complete assessment and every hr itís vital signs. Sometimes vitals are every 15 min depending on whatís going on. Of course, the monitors are set for automatic and get it for us. We donít have to go IN the rooms to see our vitals. Theyíre talking about giving us extension tubing for our IV pumps for pts that require frequent adjustments to their pressors or pain meds. That way the pump can stay in the hallway and we donít have to go in the rooms every 5 minutes. There are no visitors to mess with the pumps so it wouldnít be a problem. I do hope theyíve started doing this.

Elizabeth, thatís funny that your people couldnít hear you on the computer. Sometimes it takes awhile to figure this stuff out.
Iím heartened to hear that your dad is doing ok. Thatís good. You must miss him though. Can you face time with him?

Maryanne, we did not get any snow but I felt compelled to start building an ark!!!! Both of my chicken runs were sopped even though they are partially covered.
I see the girls have not bothered with the village just yet. I know youíre waiting for the boom though arenít you?

Ok, I have a few things to get done before work. I am getting plenty of rest for now. Itís the weekend Iím worried about. But, Bobby will take care of the animals on Sun morning so I can get to bed pretty quickly. I am aiming for 6 hrs of sleep on Sun. That would be perfect. Stayed in bed til almost noon today but didnít get to bed til 5am. My body is just so adjusted to nights. I donít know what Iím going to do when I retire.....if I survive til retirement that is. Iím trusting God like so many others.

You all stay safe. If the guy in the White House decides to cancel the social distancing, and you all do NOT want to hear my thoughts about that, please disregard it. That is going to kill a whole lot of people, which in a court of law is known as manslaughter. Wash your hands. Stay socially distanced. Itís the only way we can get rid of this as evidenced by the countries that have been doing it and have seen their cases go down in number. The cure is definitely NOT worse than the rest. Please do not regard that kind of talk. Thank you.

Dawn

HI everyone

Yes Elizabeth that rain last night was torrential and the wind against the window with the ain - THANK GOD it was NOT snow!!

Well since my housekeeper is not coming I got up and tidied up not much top be tidies - I sanitize the bathroom at night and keep it clean plus the kitchen - got the all the bedding downstairs and towels - EVERYONE in my house has their OWN handtowel to use not one and of course their own bathsheets/towerls - going to wash ours - I also decided to do the balmiest and the quilt too -

Ross came home from work - took his boot off sanitized them and ran upstairs and changed clothes, washed up and then brought his clothes down in a bag for me to wash - he said although they were not around a lot of people all the boats coming in are of foreign nationality and he wanted to be extra careful

THEN he announced OH talking to the owner/developter today he said in a week we can move in and I said BULL S H I T - we are moving NOW - first of all he has a temporary OK to move in - hmm what if the final says no and we are already half in there - PLUS we are NOT suppose to be around anyone so we are going to bring in MOVERS to MOVE - then how about the housekeeper - SHE needs to clean it BEFORE we move anything and I also want to do an inspection because the last I looked those window locks were not replaced - AND I am NOT living in boxes here to move there - OUR LIVES are so disrupted already!! UGH and the said CALM DOWN - and Colie said WRONG WORDS to tell ANY WOMAN! I said NO you calm down - there was NO transparency or updates as I requested from the owner/builder and we only gaunt out about the leak there because we popped in one day when the painters were there SO NO DONT TELL ME TO CALM DOWN - YOUR father has issues going on AND I am walking around with a brace on and such

PLUS we were suppose to stay away from people - it will be closer to MAY before we move in - then I heard well they want to demo the cellars etc and I said YOU have not even got the permits SO THERE IS NO RUSH - once we MOVE and the permits are set THEN trust me THERE will be a rush and I will be lighting a candle under someones BUTT to make sure things get done!

UGH I got enough stress

Got meatballs i the crockpot , made a meatloaf with the remaining meat - I got such deal on sirloin burger after coupons it was FREE but it was almost 4 pounds way too much for just meatballs so I can put the meatloaf in the freezer

Did an order from Whole foods and it arrived and I was happy with that -

Stay well all - stay safe

Good morning (now afternoon as I got interrupted) all!

I left the office last night after the light snow and rain but before the torrential rain. We had crazy rain all night long. Mike actually built a fire. I came home and watched lots of tv. Not what I should have been doing but it was still fun. When I have large periods of open time I am not as productive. I am used to having lots of deadlines and people around. Oh well. This will be good for me to learn some better habits.

We are using zoom for meetings and my laptop normally sits in a docking station and I have a large monitor. Until last night I didn't think that the reason no one could hear me on the calls is because my laptop is closed and therefore my mike is covered up. For our staff meetings I do the calls in another room which has a really large monitor and folks can see me but I am smaller on screen. No one needs a close up.

Sue - are there others in the office with you? Glad you were able to get what your folks needed. That sounds crazy on the roads. There are only two of us in the building right now. Our tenant's business is considered essential so it is helpful for me to be here to get any packages and mail that comes. But no late nights for me. I have seriously reduced my working hours. Once I get home I am done for the day.

Laura - so glad the tele-doctor's appointment worked so well. How excited that there is a new puppy down the street. That must be so frustrating that you are so close to getting in the new condo. Dad is doing fine. We are emphasizing too much what is going on since he doesn't get out much any way these days. He is so amazed that church has been cancelled.

Maryanne - hope the shoveling wasn't too bad. Didn't your neighbor who helps with that for the street have surgery or something. Your Easter village sounds wonderful. I am wondering what will happen for Easter this year. Each year we go to the UMass club with the family. Not sure that will be happening.

Janine - did the snow last? That was a surprising storm. Its sunny in the city right now. But I hear more rain on the way.

Dawn - what can I say but thank you for all that you do. Hope you are able to stay safe and protected.

Stay sane everyone!

Janine - how much did you end up getting??

Laura - glad the new Dr is great and it worked out. YES, DO NOT GO ANYWHERE! I hope the delay on the move isn't too long.

Dawn - tough scheduled for you and I assume it won't get any better. Just TRY to rest as much as you can when you are off.

Elizabeth - Please tell me you weren't in the office and then had to trudge thru that snow to get home??

Morning all

Yeah weather was crazy - we got snow here as well and enough to cover the grass and start covering the tops of the cars but then the rain came in and as of this morning there isn't a flake of snow to be seen.

Sue - so glad you were able to get everything and improvise when needed. Another task off your list! Must have been horrible driving in that last night. So glad you managed to get home safely!

Nothing going on here. Last night I put the lights in my Easter village and flipped thru some magazines. Was going to do my nails but just didn't feel like it. Talked to my cousin and her husband last night - he said I heard a rumor that you have a bunch of puzzles. HA HA HA, I said indeed I do so he's coming by this morning to pick up a couple for their house. That's about it from here...Ö..

Hope all are still doing well and staying safe.

Maryanne

Good evening,
so got everything my individuals wanted. They are the unique ones that will eat anything. Had to substitute some things due to no bread but got them rolls and they loved that. It worked. They were grateful to have food. Snow was awful on way home. Normally takes me 20 min to get home but took me almost 40. No plow trucks out yet I might work from home tomorrow
hope everyone has a good night

Holy Monday snowstorm! I heard we were going to get a dusting, but I think we have at least 2 inches out there so far and it is still coming down! I went out earlier and got some canned veggies. I realized I didn't have many and was feeling the need to stock the shelves again after giving to the food pantry.

Stay safe everyone!

Have a call into Colie's lung doctor

We were the FIRST tele-health call for our doctor and his first "guinea pigs" trying it out
I had a few frustrations trying to get logged on but I figured it out - he said it was an adventure for him too

He is JUST great! WE ARE NOT ALLOWED ANYWHERE - walking ok stay away from people

REMEMBER he is an INFECTIOUS DISEASE specialist!!!

All my heart tests came back great - I need to exercise but he had me show him my ankle, photos of my ankle and bruises - he said I was smart to avoid the ER but I had nasty fall - I said well i have these two braces from previous injuries and he picked on so I have an ankle brace om for a few weeks at least - which will mean NOT walking as much outside -

He agreed with what I was doing with the BP meds and I appreciated that fact that he understood waking up in the AM with high blood pressure and feeling like crap and I went back to one of the old ways I use to take the medicine PLUS he said one pill atenenol has a calming affect (y other doc said that too) and it will help especially at night - HE prescribed the muscle relaxers and GOT FURIOUS when he saw that they would not pay for the low dose I am on - he said I ordered the high dose cut in two . talked about ativan if I get too ancy but I said my therapist only thought i might need one once in awhile but with the muscle relaxer I AM sleeping FINALLY and the pain in my neck, shoulder almost gone so we decided a let's see how I do approach

THEN COLIE's turn on the iPad - I said we had canceled our trip in April/May and were planning on August and he said FOR YOU TWO can we hold off for awhile and make that decision later 0- I do not want him ANYWHERE - We discussed his O2 stats and said he would also call the lung team - currently Colie's lung doctor has a case full in the ICU and you can guess what from! Colie may need steroids for a bit but all labs show he is doing ok - and we may have come to the time for oxygen as needed NOT all the time too - was hoping to have at least a u=year once Dad was gone to do all our traveling and such OH WELL - all in God;s hands - GOOD NEWS for Colie is that he is on hydrodoxyclcchorine or Plaquenal and they are USING that successfully with a ZPACK for covid 19 so he feels Colie may do better than most because of that so THAT was encouraging!!

Again - he gave us instructions for us to stay in - wash/chlorox wipe ALL groceries coming in and repackaging any meats etc - so I was already doing that - told me me I get a pass on my slightly elevated cholesterol level - and since he wont be testing me for awhile I sort of can start hmmm tomorrow on what I am eating - plus we had JUST come home from vacation too and I was starting to walk then fell

ON A BIG AND BRIGHT NOTE - our niece who lives a coulee of blocs away adopted a rescue puppy - an Aussiedoodle his name is Irwin and she stopped by and kept her distance and introduced us - i was talking to him as he was sitting and we was talking back to me - she said O COURSE you would hit it off with THAT auntie - you are going to LOVE visiting with them!! YES HE WILL and so will we enjoy his company

LOL Ordered my first order from Amazon prime - I do not want poor Beth driving up from RI all the time and somehow I could not deleter something and ended up with THREE gallons of milk oh well -

Stay safe all - again I am encouraged in a way BUT then if our elected idtios and I call them IDIOTS because the only thing that should be in that stimulus package is AID for the people of the united states NOT working or businesses - not the special interest groups and such and at this point they all should GROW UP - the damn stock market is taking such a hit and I have watched our investments drop over $22,000 and this was our CONSERVATIVE account and big account with Colie's IRA take a huge hit - just owner if they will recoup at all

OH WELL and lets add the fact the condo is ALMOST ready and now then we need the city to sign off on it and we are suppose to STAY in the house away from people - UGH - condo needs to get leaned by OUR housekeeper if she will come out so right now I AM FOCUSING ON THE NOW and that is just stay put

Hey all,

Very overcast here today, the last day off I have. Fortunately, unfortunately, I only go in tomorrow night and then have 2 days off. I am on call 3-11 on Fri and Iím very sure Iíll be called in. I work the weekend. Itís been nice to have 2 weekends in a row off. Of course, I do work an awful lot of Fri nights which gives me only Sunday off. But, I still look forward to it.

Sue, I do hope you donít have to go on a mad goose chase to get the groceries for your clients. Please be safe.

Maryanne and Elizabeth, I hope the days arenít too frustrating for you both. I know I hate being on the phone so I really donít know HOW you guys do your jobs. It would drive me insane. I donít have the best of hearing d/t a fairly severe tinnitus. So, being on the phone I have to ask people to speak slowly and clearly. Now, at work, with all of us wearing masks all of the time I canít read peopleís lips and so I have to re-explain to them that my hearing is bad and I would appreciate it if they could really speak very clearly.

Sue, Iím glad that your SIL is doing better. Sepsis is simple compared to what weíre dealing with now. Have they extubated him? Iím sure theyíll be pushing him to get off of all O2 since theyíre probably going to need the vent and the O2.

I only have to go to CVS today to pick up meds. Other than that, I am home. Donít need anything from the grocery store and plan to do most of my cooking for the week today. That way I donít have to spend a lot of time in the kitchen.

Did a killer workout last night. It felt really good to work that hard and I think it did me some good all the way around: mentally, physically etc. I plan on doing an ab workout today with a little bit of cardio. Not much.

Please you all, stay safe. Stay home if you are able to. I am praying for all of us.

Dawn

Hi all,

Wondering when this crazy weather is going to start. Just what we need right now. I have lots of work to do - trying to figure out how to piece it out to the people working remotely.

Finished my book last night. Wow - I did not suspect the ultimate killer at all.

Dawn hope you are able to sleep a lot until you have to go back.

Laura - hope you are able to connect with some doctors about Colie.

Sue - hope there was food to be found

Janine - sending productivity vibes your way. If it works send them my way.

Maryanne - hope you survive all your calls. I have call from 2:30 to 6:00 today.

Hang in there.

Morning all

Good Luck today Sue - fingers crossed you can find everything you need for them.

Dawn - I am so glad you have this very small break from work!

Laura - keep us posted on how the calls go today.

Elizabeth - sigh, that accountant really needs to go...ÖÖ.I hope you manage to have a better week. As for organizing - sometimes the list works, sometimes I end up making them and losing them. Now I put one right on the kitchen island and just add / delete as things need to be handled.

Janine - hopefully you'll have a better week and can get your focus. I'll help - today is Monday March 23rd. :) Oh and yes, I found the ear piece - she had hidden it in her toy basket under one of her mice.

Same old same old here for me. Monday morning and I have about 5 calls scheduled and a large task list. Happy to report that the girls (thus far) have not been interested in the Easter village. I have no doubt that they really just haven't paid attention to it yet and that they will absolutely get up there to investigate...ÖÖ.they appear to just be toying with me right now.

Hope everyone is doing ok and hanging in there. It appears that we have a really dreary weather week coming up with clouds/rain/some snow mix so that should really brighten everyone's moods even more - NOT.

Try to have a good day all.
Maryanne

Sue - so glad he is doing better. I hope he continues to improve each day. Smart move taking the $$$ away - it's so hard to make some people understand what's going on. We have the small children that just want to go out and play and then our elderly that easily get confused. It's hard I'm sure.

Laura - I'm so sorry to hear about Colie's brother. How sad for the family. Pleases send him my condolences. I really hope things can get straightened out with Colie without a trip to any doctor's or hospital...Ö..I'm praying for a good outcome.

Hey to everyone else - hope you are all hanging in there.

I had a very productive weekend. Got the entire house done except the spare room (which really only needs a good dusting. Put the Easter village up in two sections. So far the girls aren't the least bit interested but I suspect that will change when I go to bed tonight. Fingers crossed. The only thing left to do is bring the boxes back downstairs and get my table cloth for the table. I even spent some time and went thru more pictures and only have the one big box to go thru. That one is mostly pictures when we were babies etc....so nothing surprising there AND most of the stuff in that box are already in photo albums so that's half the battle.

SO that's that. Back to work tomorrow morning and I suspect it's going to be another long and unpleasant week. Starting to contemplate taking next Friday off just to have something to look forward to.

Stay safe and healthy

Maryanne

Hi all,

What a lazy day this has been. I had trouble sleeping last night so I ended up sleeping in. Then I turned on the tv and then I was reading my book. I am dying to know who the killer is. However a coworker needed me to check on a password for him at work so thankfully I got dressed and came up to the office. Don't worry - I am the only one here. And it is a very short trek to the office. It was the boost of energy I need. I seriously have a lot of organizing to do at home but it is a bit overwhelming. And we need to have someone in to look at the washer but I am not worried about it right away.

Dawn glad you have a few days off. So sorry to hear about Prudence but understand what you meant about her suffering. How nice you were able to zoom for church and to be able to see your family. And yes Dawn I found your friend request. So nice to see your pics.

Sue - hope the laundromat wasn't too bad and you were able to practice social distancing. How is your son-in-law doing.

Maryanne - you are so good to make a list. I seriously need to do that.

Janine - the accountant did not come in. It was if he knew I was talking about him and he texted me that he was working from home. He will be back in on Tuesday. We shall see.

Laura - please keep us posted on Colie. Will be keeping you in my thoughts and prayers. So sorry to hear about his brother-in-law. One of the staff's grandmothers is not doing well in Ireland and it is so tough for her Dad that he can't go home to see his Mom.

Keep smiling if you can!

Hey all,

Well, thank you all for the condolences for Prudence. But, as you all know, she had not been doing well since the end of Dec and I brought her in the first part of Jan. She has been in since except for one day when it was about 65 degrees out I brought her out into the sunshine. She didnít seem to care for it and was happier indoors so I never took her out again. I was at the point where I realized she probably wouldnít be able to get into the coop b/c the ramp was so steep and her walking was so poor. I could probably let her out with the flock on nice, warm days but would have to bring her in at night. So, it was a good time for her to go b/c her quality of life as a chicken was not too good and I just really wanted for her to go comfortably and peacefully, which she did. It was harder to watch her decline and suffer than it was for her to be dead and buried. I hope you all donít think I am being hard when I say that I am very relieved for her, my little love.

Laura, I have to wonder what is going on with Colie. Make sure he is using his incentive spirometer and, if he has one, an acapella or an Aerobika. Both of those are flutter pieces that vibrate the chest and make him cough. Also, he needs to be drinking plenty of water so that if there are secretions trapped near the alveoli that he can thin them out and cough them up. Do you know how to do chest PT? Have him lay on his stomach, (pronate), and firmly pound on his back over his lungs. Do each section separately. They should teach you how to do this at the clinic but you might be able to find a You Tube video on it. He needs it twice a day.
Sorry, I donít mean to sound bossy. Iím just concerned and trying to keep him at home and safe. He absolutely can not get this. Absolutely.
We heard about the Carney last week and also had heard that the workers there didnít know. They probably did that so that there wouldnít be a mass exodus. But, they shouldnít have done that. There will most certainly be fall out from that. There are too many hospitals looking for help for them to be treating their workers that way. Shame on them.
Very sorry to hear about Colieís relative passing. That is just awful the way that happened but not uncommon. That was the very thing I was afraid of for my Dad b/c he lived near a body of water at every home he had and Jane wasnít very diligent about making sure he didnít wander.
Maryanne, thatís kind of cute that Jessie hid the ear piece in the basket like that. I had to giggle b/c itís such a cat thing to do.

Janine, I hope you are having a good day.

Sue, how is it going for you over there? Are your clients all doing ok? Iím sure the isolation is probably not good for them as they are used to getting out and doing activities. That is a very challenging situation.

Elizabeth, I think I sent you a friend request on FB. Hoping you got it ok.

Bobby and I took Mosley for a nice, long walk in the woods yesterday. It was nice to forget about COVID for a bit.
Today was did a family face time. It was SO good to be able to talk to everyone as a family and have everyone chime in. It was like being at family breakfast.
We attended our church service on Zoom and it was so unbelievably good. Anyone who wants to attend good Bible teaching, if youíre interested, can request Pastor Munn to add them to the Zoom group. Heís at The Refuge in Attleboro, MA. There is also a FB group. Iím not sure you can see the services from there but he might be able to tell you how to join the group.
Lots of prayer going on for sure.

Ok, I donít go back til Tues. No telling what supplies will look like by then. I have a N95 tucked away in my work bag that I will use if we are out. Then I will put it in a plastic bag and put it in my locker at the end of my shift. I will NOT be putting a bandana over my face. My son, Jon, has a contact for getting me a few masks. I intend to take a few for me and bring the rest to work for my co-workers. Especially the ones with diabetes and other auto immune disorders.

Ok, Iím going to go clean cat boxes and do some laundry. Today would be a good day for cleaning the laundry room closet.

Stay safe. Stay in. Have a good day.

Dawn so sorry about Prudence

Colie lost his brother in law in Ireland. Had Alzheimer’s -he finally got out - he tries every night they have high locks unfortunately someone forgot to lock they one door. They found him the next AM in a ditch half dressed etc and rushed him to hospital. There was nothing they could do for him so they brought him home and he died 5 hours later. Ireland is lock down so no wake - real funeral so funeral for whatever it will be is on Monday

Ross has his essential worker paperwork in case of a shut down. Christina is on this week at the federal courthouse. They are driving one plus driver to court house or authorizing parking in the courthouse garage.

How long are we playing the ‚Äúshut down‚ÄĚ waiting Game??!!

Calling the lung team fir Colie tomorrow. Short of breath on exertion. Good news is the numbers come back up. BUT it is exhausting him. Great numbers when he is still. Thinking this maybe a part of what was going on back in December. His xrays have been good and he had one two weeks ago. No changes from December. A real struggle for me to get him to TELL me what is going on!! I LOST MY COOL this AM he said I feel so-so! Well stop telling ME so-so EXPLAIN it!! You Had me call the doctor on 3/5 then told him you felt great days later. He checked in on 3/12 and you said you were fine. Now you are so so. I do see him short of breath. One problem he breathes thru his mouth which does NOT help him get good air in his lungs. If he breathes they his nose he recoups quickly on his O2 rates. Andrea one of my adopteds said she was gluing his lips - she was watching him from a distance

Sooo that is my quarantine time trying to figure out his needs. And of course he is scared to go to a hospital as ALL of us are!! Making the call in the AM. No cough no fever etc I keep checking

As for me well I HAVE VERN BAKING and cookIng away although the Chart House managed gad his team deliver our dinner last night. I called to check menu and said I would do grub hub and he said NO I know you can’t go out with Comie we will deliver - save on the grub hub fee and prices.
It was DELICIOUS

Recovering from my fall

One day at a time here

STAY SAFE ALL

It seems the days blur now. I think they only thing helping me know if it as weekday is what is on television and that Mario is home. Otherwise, I couldn't tell you a day or date without looking it up.

Dawn...I am so sorry about Prudence. Poor thing! How you holding up with work?

Elizabeth...did the accountant show up?

Maryanne.....did you find your earpiece?

Laura....I am praying for Colie that he gets the care he needs and is feeling better soon. Keep him as far away from anywhere that he could get the virus! And you too!

Kate is sad today but resolved that her being home is the best decision. Her boyfriend is staying in North Carolina. Hopefully soon we will see him here.

Stay well everyone!

If you focus on results, you will never change. If you focus on change, you will get results.

Morning all

Got some good cleaning done yesterday and now onto today's list. Bedrooms, Easter decorations (including my small village/lit houses) and at least an hour going my clothes. After that I'll make a whoooole new list. How stinking exciting.

Hope everyone is doing ok and can try to enjoy the day no matter what you're doing.

Awwww Dawn..I'm sorry to hear about Prudence. I'm glad it was peaceful but sad for you. Yes I found the earpiece...she hid it in the toy basket! Smh....so naughty.

So bathroom cleaned, cat box scrubbed, dusting, vacuuming done and floor all washed. Next up is to wipe down the entire kitchen and laundry.

Laura, what nice friends!!! Fingers crossed Colie sees some improvement and soon. That's incredible no one at the hospital was told! Ugh, what a horrible surprise.

Well after a week at home - I can say I WANT OUT -

Colie and I are walking but he seems not to be able to go as far as he use too. He had a chest X-ray and lab work not quite a month ago and everything was fine. Calling his team on Monday - they may need to add steroids or adjust his imuraan or we may have come to the time OK does he need infusions
NO COUGH NO TEMP etc (and with people saying they have no symptoms of Covid 19 that scares me) although the last time i got sick he spiked a fever so no temp NOW

All my adopted are shopping for us and dropping off - Lindsay visited with her son - she stopped working because her baby has asthma - we kept our distance but she is soooo stressed over this and just wants to go to her parents house which won't happen. I know she wanted to cry in my arms but I said we cant hug here so cry and vent

Beth is doing most of our shopping - Ashley has done some and she drops Zeus off for a play date ROFL with his grandparents

Ross is essential worker - Company is using ONE tugboat only and that is constantly being cleaned when they are off it AND to boot only 3-4 on a shift - Ross sanitizes before he walks into the house and then washea up

Lots of extra cleaning here in the house - my housekeeper is not coming so i am doing what I can

our niece is part of the Mass Nurses Associate she is a business agent and manager of many hospitals - she called us to tell us in her words STAY THE HELL AWAY from the Carney - it is a real S H I T show - do you know NO ONE knew they were going to be a Covid-19 hospital till it was announced on the news NO ONE not even the staff and doctors - and part of the problem now with the tent set up people are flocking to the ER to be tested NOT the tent because it is not manned yet - and her concern for her nurses is the LACK of organization and guiding patients to the right area which then causes more issues - SOOOO I emailed the dog=ctor and said HEY all my other providers have done phone calls with me - I need the results of my stress test - let's discuss my BP issue (I have adjusted the meds - and it is working) and I need to talk about taking the flexeril and I need that RX renewed AND also other things so I am waiting

Told him NO WAY i am bringing Colie over there1 He is an infection disease specialist too so HE SHOULD understand

If I take Colie to the lung doctors their building is far apart from the main hospital and not many people in that place on a regular basis - so I would not feel too bad about getting him there

My ankle has some pain dont use much for the pain, wrist sore BUT I figured out that the bag wa son my left wrist/hand and when the sap flopped my right ankle snagged it so when I went to walk my own wrist/arm kept me from making the forward progress. Still using ice as needed

Hey all,

Yes, the sun is out. That is good b/c Prudence died this morning and I have to bury her. She had been doing pretty good up until yesterday. She wasnít walking well and I knew she was at the end. She wasnít eating much either. Funny how all species die pretty much the same way. I was praying for a quick and peaceful end and God answered.

Janine, way to go on getting supper ready this early. Thatís really good.

Maryanne, thatís really great service you got at the light store. Iím glad it worked out for you. Sorry to hear about your ear piece. Letís hope you have found it by now and it is in good condition. Maybe you need a purse with a zipper. The little scheister!!!!

Elizabeth, Iím hoping you are home today and all is well. Maybe you can get out for a quick, socially distanced walk.

Laura, I saw your post on FB. What is going on with Colieís O2 sat?

Sue, sorry you are having to actually DO the laundry yourself. I donít think I would like that as I donít really like doing my own laundry. Of course, I do it but I never enjoy it. I call my laundry room ďthe dungeonĒ.

Well, now that the CDC has recommended bandanas for health care workers, kid you not, there have been studies done to see which house hold products would do best for face mask protection. DIY masks will become all the rage. Apparently tee shirts and pillow cases are ok to use. Vacuum cleaner bags top the list. You know, a few weeks ago this would have seemed preposterously hilarious and now itís being taken as sound advice. What ARE we coming to?

Anywho, I have to go bury a chicken. My poor little Prudence. I will miss her.

You all stay safe and have a good day.

Hi all,

I started a post yesterday and realize I must not have posted it.

Dawn and now Sue I am so sorry that people are giving caregivers a hard time. Seriously I do not understand people at all. That is just wrong.

Sue - I hope you get to relax today.

Dawn - the patients in the hospital are so fortunate to have a nurse with your experience as well as calm and grace. You are amazing.

Janine - hope today is productive for you. Is your daughter's boyfriend driving up? Sorry she might be mad at you but it is better she is safe!

Maryanne - so glad you got your lights. Hope you are able to relax this weekend.

Laura - hope you and your family are doing well.

I am up at the office right now and I am the only one here so very safe. Ran into a friend on the way up so it was nice to chat (we kept our distance), I could connect from home Dawn but I wouldn't have the same setup or all my documents. My accountant said he was coming in today but surprise he isn't here. I bet he thought he could say he was here and I wouldn't know the difference. He is way behind and it is causing me stress.

Our washer started smoking this morning just after I left. So who knows what we will do. Mike first said it was the dryer and I was afraid I was left with a load of wet clothes. Of course I had put the sheets in this morning. We can survive a while if need be.

I did a WW call this morning virtually. It was great to see so many faces. I am down another pound this week.

Have the best day possible.

Today is another day of working on a hundred things and hoping to be productive. I have already made dinner and it's just lunch time. It is odd to have so much down time. I am grateful the sun is shining!

Maryanne....I am so glad you found a light fixture you like. I need to find one for my kitchen. The one I bought years ago does not seem to be working well and it does not shine enough light to work from.

Dawn....I hope you get some time off this weekend to rest and relax.

Sue.....take care of your clients the best way you feel! By protecting them you are protecting yourself. Enjoy your day off.

Laura....how's the healing going?

Morning all

Got my lights yesterday and the place was so good. Boxes came outside and went right into my trunk. They even had a wet wipe or something they used to wipe the boxes after they put them in the trunk. And I LOVE my lights! Then stopped at a Hannaford's right up the street from there and grabbed some fruit and home. Plan to just hang inside and do cleaning all day today.

Sigh and the first case of covid-19 was confirmed here in Dedham. Of course we have no idea who or where they had been etc...ÖÖ

Ok, I'm off to clean and OH I have to go find the ear piece I use for my phone - APPARENTLY Jessie went INTO my pocketbook last night and found it. I found the piece that goes around the ear but not the piece to talk into - SIGH...Ö...I'm going to be so mad if she destroyed it!

Have a good day all. Stay safe.

Maryanne

Good after noon.
I have already had issues. A couple people have said to me that my individuals that we are trying to keep safe we are taking their independence away by doing the laundry (due to some not having washers and dryers at the place they live and have to go do a laundry mat) for them and the grocery shopping Had to go to the office today. Our CEO of the company wrote out letters in our name so we can be on the road for work in case we are pulled over. Some people don't get it

Hope everyone has a good day

Hey all,

Thank you all for the encouragement and the kind words. I had been thinking that I was wrong in telling her that I was a nurse. Believe me, I wonít be telling anyone else.

Maryanne, while I am not Republican or Democrat I agree with you 100% on the beach goers and entitled people who think they are immune to this virus. They are not and they are the ones who get the sickest the quickest. Itís a shame that they are SO very thoughtless. People could lose their lives b/c of their actions. That should be punishable by law I would think.

Elizabeth, thatís a big building youíre in. I am hoping that you will get to work from home at some point.

Sue, stay safe out there. It really was awful what that cashier said to me. I hope you donít encounter anything like it. Donít tell anyone youíre a nurse. We shouldnít have to be ashamed or hide the fact that weíre nurses but, thatís how panicked people are.

Janine, youíll adjust and youíll get with it. Good for you doing an online workout. Thatís fabulous.

Laura, still hoping and praying you and Colie are safe and ok.

I just read on NPR that the governor of CA is mandating a ďshelter in placeĒ. So, now the biggest city, NY, and the largest state in the USA are sheltering in place. Iím hoping we donít come to that but the idiots on the beaches in FL are NOT helping the decision making process. AAAAnd, this is why I have to wear a red badge to work so that if I get stopped on the way in or the way home I wonít get into trouble.
If this does not start turning around soon there will be martial law. They could mandate nurses and other health care workers to stay at hotels/motels just for them. Iím hoping it doesnít come to that but Bobby heard that they are starting the process in Boston. I donít want to be held a prisoner at work. I donít think thatís fair. The stress alone from being away from home would kill me. The isolation would make it worse.

Ok, again, enough doom and gloom. Iím ready to see that sunshine they promised. Itís still very overcast here and not too warm.

Going to do some cleaning and laundry. Then a workout OR take Mosley for a walk.

I hope you all can get out into the sunshine and enjoy some part of the day.

Maryanne....I'd be right behind you at Target smacking that girl a second time following her stupid senseless comments.

Dawn.....if no one has said it today, thank you! Thank you for caring for our most critical patients right now. Thank you for putting yourself on the front line and bringing the compassion and dignity to people in need. You are appreciated for all your hard work.

Today I am determined to be more productive. I have really been in a slump the last week, trying hard to do anything constructive. I have done some cleaning (not a lot) and some cooking, but schoolwork and work work have been difficult to settle into. Yesterday I got up and worked out with my former trainer who was doing a live online workout. That felt good. Hopefully that sparked enough in me to continue working on being more productive.

My daughter was going to fly to her boyfriend's house in North Carolina yesterday. Tuesday she decided to drive Wednesday morning. Wednesday morning she changed her mind (after several conversations with her dad and I) and convinced her boyfriend to come up here. His ticket was all set to come in today at 5:00. Then it got postponed to arrive at midnight. About a half-hour ago the flight was completely canceled. I am sure they are both upset. I am avoiding her at the moment since I am sure she blames me. There is just too much uncertainty right now to think it is a good idea to travel. She can be mad all she wants but at least she is home. More to come I am sure.

If you focus on results, you will never change. If you focus on change, you will get results.

Morning all,

Oh Dawn - I SO wish I was in the line behind you because I probably would have slapped the sh*t right out of her. I can't even believe how ignorant some people are in this world and it sickens me. Look at all the IMBECILES partying on the beaches of Florida like there isn't a care in the world. Everyone just feels they are entitled to anything they want but don't want to put the work or the effort into getting it. Who cares if people are dying and losing their jobs and risking their businesses - I want to get drunk on the beach because I DESERVE IT. Just makes me sick and sorry folks, but THIS is one of the many reasons I stand solid as a republican.

Ok, off my rant box...ÖÖÖ.

Not much happening here in Dedham. I have another busy day ahead of me with work but I AM leaving at 2:00 and driving to NH to pick up my lights. They will come out of the store and put them directly into my trunk with no contact. Not sure when I will have them installed as I am not anxious to have Buddy (electrician) come into my house and install since I have no idea how many other houses he's been in. So that will wait...ÖÖ then home for the weekend.

Supposed to hit close to 70 this afternoon so that will make the ride to NH a little more pleasant.

Hope you all have a great day today and PLEASE stay safe. Especially those of you that are still working outside your homes (Elizabeth, Sue, and Dawn). Hugs to you all (from a distance of course) :)

Maryanne

Hey all,

Well, I know you are all going stir crazy. I wish I COULD go stir crazy. I really do. Work has been brutal. I mean brutal. We have more vents going than I have ever seen in my career. Weíre all taking care of each other at work but some of the more anxious, panicky nurses are draining those of us who are remaining calm b/c we have to keep reminding them that we canít afford to panic no matter how dire things get and itís only going to get worse.

Maryanne, your friend in PA needs to know that despite what the news says, itís actually younger pts that are crashing the hardest on us. Our truly sick, vented pts are all b/t 40-60 yrs old. Most are in their 40ís. So, this bug is no respecter of persons or age. She needs to be a little more careful.
Iím sorry to hear about your couches on delay. That is very disappointing but surely canít be helped right now.
I figure all of Americaís houses are probably going to be either very clean or very dirty by the end of all of this. As I tend to stress clean, Iím sure my house will be sparkling.

Janine, poor Elvis is going to be so sad when you get back to work. Are you able to get any work done from home?

Sue, sorry you arenít getting to interact with the clients as much. But, you know itís for the best.

Elizabeth, thatís fantastic that WW is doing the meetings on Zoom. I think itís a good way to keep in touch.

Laura, I hope you and Colie are doing ok. How is your ankle feeling?

Stoppies was opening at 6am today for anyone 60+. They were supposed to restock the shelves last night but, I hauled my carcass out of bed at 5am today to get there and the store was MOBBED and the shelves had certainly NOT been restocked. I mean, these people were wall to wall and I got there at 6:15. So, you know good and well that some of them were out in the parking lot at 5am or beforehand. The parking spaces were only available waaaaay out into the parking lot. It was nuts. So, I am ordering my low carb wraps and other things on Amazon b/c I just canít find anything I want/need in the stores. So much for ďsocial distancingĒ. I wonít do that again. Itís ridiculous the way people are hoarding and hoarding and hoarding and leaving nothing for anyone else. What ARE they going to do with all of this stuff? Itís so frustrating to go to the store to do your regular shopping and not be able to find what you need b/c panicking people are clearing the shelves. I canít even find frozen corn for my hens. Iím rationing it.

I stopped at Target yesterday and the cashier and I were discussing our stress levels. She saw my work badge and said, ďwhere do YOU work, in a nursing home or something?Ē. She was kind of snarky when she said it. So, I said, ďno, I work in critical care. Right on the front lines.Ē She looked me up and down and then in a REALLY snarky tone said, ďhow do we know YOU donít have it?Ē So, I calmly replied, ďwell, Iím probably safer at the hospital than I am here. I have masks, gowns, gloves and hand sanitizer about every 2 feet at the hospital. You donít have that here.Ē I could feel the waves of rage coming off of her. She snapped my receipt from the register and handed it to me without a word. I smiled at her and said, sincerely too, ďstay safe dearĒ. She barely acknowledged that and said, ďthank youĒ. Unbelievable exchange. And THAT is the very type of person who will be banging on the hospital doors DEMANDING the best of care from us who are coming face to face with this every, single time we go into work. Your welcome!!!!
I had a COVID on Tues night. Younger, really sick. Not too sure which way heís going. Weíll see. About an hour before the end of the shift we admitted a 55 y/o vented Covid. That means that all of us are in the room getting the pt in the bed and started on the monitor and meds etc. Itís ďall hands on deckĒ when a new pt arrives and COVIDS are no different. So, itís every shift and numerous, numerous, numerous times a shift that we are dealing with this. I really, really need prayer.

Ok, enough whining from me. Iím sorry. I do use this place to vent an awful lot and I really appreciate you guys putting up with it. It helps.

Have a good day. Stay warm, dry, hydrated and SAFE please.

Dawn

Elizabeth.....thank you for admitting that you are having a hard time focusing! I thought it was just me. I am way more used to being on the move. Thankfully Elvis is never far away and always willing to take a walk. Now if the weather held out, I would love that too. This gray is making me sleepy.

Sue....how's your son-in-law?

Maryanne...sorry about the couch delay. I am sure it will be wonderful when it arrives. I know you put a lot of effort into your interior designing.

Dawn...how is Bobby doing at work? Does he have to go in?

I will need to go to the grocery store in the near future. I am almost out of produce and will need some coffee creamer soon too.

If you focus on results, you will never change. If you focus on change, you will get results.

Hi all,

The rain this morning was not fun! Would have liked to stay home but so much in the office. There are only 4 of us in the 12,500 square foot building right now so we are definitely practicing social isolation. It is nice that one of the tenants (commercial tenant) goes out and picks up lunch every day. He is supporting a local place near by. Great turkey sandwich and today he is adding the chicken noodle soup. Yum.

I am definitely having trouble staying focused. I need people around to keep me to the task at hand. I keep getting distracted by all the different things. Need to make a list and keep to it. Lots of zoom meetings happening today. I am just as busy as normal.

I am trying to organize more at home too. It needs it.

Sorry things are so crazy Maryanne. Did you see that WW is having zoom meetings. I am going to do one tomorrow.

Dawn hope you are doing well. What is Bobby doing with all this.

Sue - no snow - just rain. Very cool in the building.

Janine - are you reading any good books. I am going to take time this weekend to read.

Laura - hope you are all doing well. How does everything impact the move.

Have the best day possible!

Morning all,

No snow here Sue - just a lot of rain...ÖÖÖ Stay safe yourself! Hope things are going a little better for you?

Nothing much happening here. Work is very busy - we finished the clean up on the issue from Monday but now scrambling to catch up on everything else that got set aside. Meanwhile, I'm putting together a task list to keep me busy for the next few days. Tonight I am going to start going thru my closet and it's time to get serious. My 40 days/40 donation bag will hopefully be overflowing when I'm done. Clothes, shoes all have to be gone thru. Then the weekend I need to focus on making sure that task is finished and start a nice deep cleaning of the house. vacuuming, dusting, washing of floors, all has to be done. I'm also going to put up my Easter village - it's only about 8-10 houses with little rabbits and whatnot but I want to see how the girls react to it. I just have to decide where to display it. Such exciting plans but since there's nowhere to go I figured it's a good time to just stay home and sit tight for a few days.

Janine - how are you doing being home? It's hard if you aren't used to doing it daily. My friend is going crazy being home and hates it.

UGH UGH UGH - She said her hair salon is shutting down for 2 weeks - THAT'S one of my biggest fears...ÖÖ..

So we continue to march forward and pray for the future.

Dawn - again - PLEASE be careful.

Try to have a good day all despite the weather.

Maryanne

Afternoon all.

Dawn - Oh that's horrible! I'm so sorry it's been so brutal - yes, please be VERY careful.

Work was horrible yesterday and I ended up doing about 11 1/2 hours. Then I just gave up - ordered a large pizza and pigged out on a few slices. At 8:00 I took 2 advil pm's and went to bed at 9 - woke up at 5:00 this morning...Ö..Today was another long day but I just submitted all the claims where we need to issue additional checks to. Done and I'm logging off right now for the day.

ALL be careful. Yes, my friend in PA told me they did indeed shut everything down for 2 weeks. Then she got snippy at me because I questioned her choice to let her daughter go play softball with a group of friends. I mean honestly, WHY did they shut the schools down if people are going to continue to let their kids go out and hang with the gang??

Furniture is ready to be delivered to me but alas, store (Jordan's) is closed till end of month. So now with schedules my couch is being taken on 4/9 and the new stuff isn't coming till 4/14. This means no couch thru Easter weekend. Still not sure if my family is even getting together but if we were, it would have been here. Oh well, PLENTY of space now!

Have a good one all. Stay Strong!

Dawn I am so very sorry! It is so tough. The poor family. Please get rest when you can!

Laura - that just sounds painful. Glad you are able to walk!

Maryanne - hope work is going okay

Janine - keep drinking water. How is Elvis behaving. Is he so happy to have you home.

Sue - good luck with zoom. I can't believe you had to go to the store again. This must be so tough for your clients.

Have the best day possible.

Dawn...I am so sorry you have had to deal with such difficulties at work. As if your job isn't physically draining, adding on that emotional component must make work even more challenging. Pray to God that he helps you through these difficult days. I will sending my virtual, socially isolated, hugs to you.

Elizabeth....keep up with that water! I am ever close to some now. It helps a lot.

Maryanne.....I hope today is a better day!

Laura......you need to rest! Just put those dang feet up and rest! Read a book, watch a show, listen to music, take a nap!

Elvis and I took a walk earlier and Kate came by for a short visit. She canceled her trip to North Carolina to leave tomorrow. I feel sad for her, but am happy she will not be traveling right now.

If you focus on results, you will never change. If you focus on change, you will get results.

Blessing on that fall I landed on my knees then my arms/hands - head NEVER touched the ground - once my hands hit and I was on all fours I sat

I am pretty bruised - knees, arms - swelling gone on the ankle BUT sore to touch I AM WALKING without a limp, almost NO PAIN all day. The bruises are sore to touch as well. Love my adopted Andrea - she checked me out and I was on the phone with PCP too.

DAWN - PLEASE PLEASE BE CAREFUL

Hey all,

I am completely and utterly exhausted. My pt from last night died today. I can't even describe the nightmare of being in that room all night. He wasn't Covid but he was extremely sick. I sat 3 times all night.
Tonight's pt is a suspected COVID. I have spent hours masked and gowned already. I have 13,333 steps on my fitbit.

Sue, thanks for the update on your son in law. I hope he recovers from this. Have they tested him for COVID?

Laura, for the love of God, that is awful!!! I hope your ankle is feeling better. Any concerns that you might have concussed yourself? Goodness.

Maryanne, that is a bloody, long workday. How frustrating for you. I hope today was much better and that some of those issues are being resolved.

Janine, getting any work done on your school stuff? I'm sure it's nice to be home. The reason for being home isn't so nice but to be home is nice.

Elizabeth, it must seem strange to be in that building with so few people. Do take care of yourself. how is your dad?

I heard on NPR today that somewhere in PA they are closing everything, including the grocery stores, for 2-3 weeks. So, those poor people are going to have to leave the state just to buy groceries....or diapers. That's rough. I guess this is where Amazon makes out huh?

Ok, back to work. It felt so good to sit, without a mask, gown, gloves and face shield on. Back into the fire I go I guess. Ugh!!! Help me God, please.

have a nice night everyone,

Dawn

Good evening,
Zoom meeting tomorrow will be the first one. Totally exhausted physically, mentally, and emotionally. The clients have no idea what is going on. Now we are not even able to be with them We did everyone's grocery shopping with them for 2 weeks today. The only thing next week is milk and bread and lunch meat. Hit the store 8 times then my hubby called and asked me to stop at the store we needed some things. I wanted to hit him lol. I did after work i got the items he said we needed. The next few days will be in the office doing paper work Now home resting and having tea.
Son in law still same no change
Be safe everyone

Hi all,

There are two of us in the office plus the folks from the office upstairs and the acupuncturist. We are all practicing social distancing since we have plenty of space. Was here late last night trying to work through a phone issue which of course is with my phone. They are still working on it.

Laura - ouch that sounds painful. Though I think you were smart not to go to the ER. Amazing that the Kentucky Derby is postponed. Are all the races of the Triple Crown postponed.

Maryanne - sorry it is so crazy. Some people are not realizing how much work there is still to be done.

Sue - sending healing thoughts for your brother-in-law. How are the zoom meetings going?

Janine - I am worried about my hairdresser. She is a sole propreitor. I need to check in with her to see what she is doing? Keep on drinking the water. (Good reminder to myself).

Dawn - I am even in more awe of you than I already was. Thank you for what you do! How is Bobby doing? Is the new job having them work from home.

Thanks for the water reminder. I'm really working hard to drink more!

Got my nails done Sunday. Today I am getting my hair done. I'm getting out a little to support small businesses and keep myself from being completely stir crazy. I'm taking precautions so don't worry. Washing hands has become one of my favorite pastimes.

Morning all,

My friend just informed me that the state of PA is shutting EVERYTHING down for 2 weeks. grocery stores included so everything...ÖÖ.I assume we will be following suit.

Laura - sorry about the derby and cancellation of your trip but better safe than sorry.
Sue - I hope your SIL is stable and doing a little better
Dawn - OMG I am so nervous for you and all nurses/doctors. Please take care of yourself.
Janine - Did you get the nails done? Have a sip of water while you read this. :)
Elizabeth - how did it go at the office? Is ANYONE going in? I thought of you about all the events you'll have to cancel - what will that do to your place? Will anyone be let go? I hope not.

Me - first off, IT'S SNOWING!!! Seriously? Get lost - you are NOT wanted around here. Secondly I'm exhausted. I worked from 6:40 am yesterday till 9:30 last night with no breaks...Then ended up getting about 4 hours of sleep last night AFTER getting maybe 3 1/2 on Sunday night. Just lots going on in my head between work and family things. Then worried about my brother and his hip surgery thinking it was today and come to find out it's on 4/17! Whatever - I'm just completely exhausted so tonight I will end up taking either Benadryl or Advil PM. And work is just crazy because another system had an issue that affected us and impacted all the claims that were paid yesterday. So the mess continues this morning.

Going to slink to the grocery store at lunch to see if there's anything else I may want to pick up. Also hoping to get some fruit

Have a good day all. Stay strong and stay healthy.

Maryanne

Please stay safe all

We are hunkered down, did two shoppings last Wednesday and Friday and I just ordered from BJ’s for delivery Wednesday

Canceled my annual gym - my therapist is doing a phone call Friday and we both have our PCP on Monday at 10. Called and they said keep it unless canceled

I want to talk to him about my stress test, change up my BP meds and discuss another thing. Want him to check Colies lungs out and discuss maybe a trip to lung team.

We are holding our own and praying for our country and the world

Canceled our trip to California. And actually I don’t think they will hold the Kentucky derby in May. Many of the tracks are closing

Just be careful all

Hi all

Well what happened to my foot was I had a carry on travel bag by the handles and the strap dropped around my foot and entangled the ankle and I did a fill face plant on the street. Saved my face, knees took a beating and the ankle that had been trapped swelled up. I refused to go to the ER Because I could walk on it and move it. To me the ER is the scariest place to be

Iced it, kept it up and the swelling came down. As I said not painful much and I g hv ascent taken anything fir it today. One if my adopteds is a CCU nurse case manager and she cane over and checked me out

Hey all,

Well, at least the sun is out. I have spent much time in prayer today about this whole situation with COVID19. Praying for Godís mercy and healing for all affected. Protection for all on the frontlines including myself.

Sue, I seriously do not know what to say about your SIL. As you know, it is a very serious thing if he had to be intubated right off. Thatís how our Covid pt was. Does he have any other comorbities? I will be praying for him. Many hugs to you my friend.

Maryanne, things really are getting insane. The shut downs are continuing. Iím waiting to be mandated by the hospital to work beyond my regular hours. When health care workers start getting this they wonít have a choice. But, Iíd rather work beyond my hours than get sick and have to stay home or worse for the duration. I will be 60 in Oct and I have diabetes. The odds are not in my favor, unfortunately.

Elizabeth, I will definitely send you a friend request. For those of you who are my friends on FB, I will post any updates I get there.

Laura, I hope you and Colie are hunkered down at home, safe and sound. Praying for you all.

I agree with Maryanne about the hoarding situation. I think the nation has gone crazy. I will not be buying a gun as some are. Thatís just beyond reason in my opinion. And, I donít know how to use one. I posted on FB about that guy in TN that was trying to price gouge on Amazon. He has an entire building of wipes and sanitizing gel that he went around and bought up. He said he cleared shelves in numerous stores around the country in order to be able to sell the stuff on Amazon and EBay. Both of those shut him down. His best bet, if he doesnít want the crazy people with the guns to get him, would be to donate that stuff. Maybe to the homeless population. They have no way to sanitize and protect themselves. Itís going to be very rough if they start getting this. Thereís no way to contain it.

Ok, again, enough gloom and doom. Forgive me. I am truly sorry. Itís just hard to see the bright side of things when I, and all of my health care worker friends, are running into the fire every day.

You all, please stay safe. Wash your hands vigorously and frequently. Stay home as much as you can. No large gatherings at all. None, not for any reason. Drink water, stay really well hydrated and nourished. Get plenty of rest and PRAY for an end to this soon.
I will talk to you all later at work if I get a chance.

Have the best day you possibly can.

Dawn

Hi all!

I am in the office today and made a point of saying good morning to everyone on my short commute this morning.

Oddest business as normal thing happened. We have been waiting for months for a new desktop, privacy panel and extra light for some desks. They arrived today with the installer Ryan. Crazy but good thing we were here. It may be weeks until Emily sees her new desk but in the meantime at least it came.

Janine - I am concerned about being productive even working here in the office. I don't do well without deadlines and lots of free time.

Maryanne - I am really worried about folks in the service industry. I am paying for uber for any of my staff who wants to come in. Glad you were able to have a good day yesterday.

Dawn - hope you are stocking up on rest.

Laura - stay well!

I think most of you are on facebook. If you want to friend me please do. I am Elizabeth Tyminski.

Morning all,

YES! Weather was spectacular yesterday and I spent the afternoon at a bbq at Karen's house. I even got a little color on my face! It was lovely.

Sue I am so sorry to hear about your son-in-law. I am saying extra prayers that they figure out FAST what is going on.

Elizabeth - agree-my friend went to the North End yesterday at 12:30? Parking right on Hanover St! Crazy - I don't EVER remember that happening.

Janine - good luck with the schoolwork. I hope Elvis doesn't decide otherwise! :) Good advise from Dawn with the water...Ö.

Dawn I really hope you get some rest while you can.

Laura - hope the foot is even better today.

As for working at home - same as usual for us and our company started early last week ensuring people that work in the offices got their id's and laptops updated to access required systems etc. We got another announcement this morning that all of our offices WILL remain open to enable us to service all of the customers during this time. We have contingency plans in place for things like this and if people have to go into the office they can get uber/lyft and the company will reimburse them. Things truly are just a mess now and with the restaurants all shutting down except for pick up and take out it pretty much wipes out the high end restaurants. Aggie is now out of work for several weeks...ÖÖ. it's really getting scary how this is going to impact so many people and businesses.

As for the ***holes that ran to the stores and hoarded all the food and paper goods - they should be ashamed of themselves. Already I'm hearing of people willing to sell stuff for ridiculously high prices...Ö.they disgust me. EVERYONE is nervous but to do that. smh.

It's just going to be a very long difficult Spring.

Try to have a good day all.

Maryanne

Day 1 of the closing. I hope to get some things done during this time off. I have been plugging away at some cleaning. I started listening to an audiobook. And the ever present homework is here. I know I can get productive during this time.

Dawn...great advice. Thanks. I am trying hard to make sure I am keeping hydrated as I think this does make a different for me. I hope you were able to get some rest.

Sue....I am sorry about your son-in-law. I pray he recovers soon and will be well.

If you focus on results, you will never change. If you focus on change, you will get results.

Hi all,

It is beautiful out. I am glad I can walk to the office because I would not get much done at home. Perhaps tackle some cleaning but Mike works from home so it would be too distracting for the two of us.

I have to say my annual Lenten abstinence of sweets is seen on the scale. If only I could do this all year round. I have increased my water but not as well as I should and my exercise is not perfect.

Yesterday I ran some errands but it was pretty quiet out there. Did get my nails done but no one was in the salon and they use gloves. I was my person's second client of the day. I did meet up with a friend. She is the one who lost her husband last July to a brain tumor. It is tough for her so I am glad I saw her.

Dawn - hope you get great sleep today and that work isn't too crazy.

Laura - not sure what happened to your foot/ankle but hope it is healing quickly.

Janine - I seriously would eat everything at home if I was there. Who knows how long you will be out. Hopefully you can get some great writing done. So pleased your friend has been released from the hospital.

Maryanne - you are already the pro at working from home. How does this impact some of your coworkers. I am so glad Teddy is back home.

Sue - we use zoom a lot. It works really well. Good luck with work.

Hey all,

What a pretty day outside!!! At least we have that right?

Janine, drink plenty of water. Before you eat anything at all take a big drink of water and wait 10 minutes. It may be that you are dehydrated.
Verify glad to hear that your friend is home from the hospital.

Laura, I am praying that your foot is feeling better and that you donít end up having to go to the doctor for that.

Maryanne, I am glad/relieved that Teddy is home. I AM praying for a complete recovery for him.

Sue, we used Zoom for our church service this morning and it was really good. It wasnít the same as being IN church but it was encouraging to see our pastor and to hear him teaching on the word of God and praying together. It might be awhile before we can gather together again.

That nurse I was talking about is the first, and I hope the only, case Iíve ever seen to behave in this fashion. Especially for a ďcritical care nurseĒ. Most nurses that I have worked with and known are exceptionally brave and compassionate. Most of us are the ones that will run into the fire. I will be talking to the manager about his behavior when I get back to work this week.

I have tonight off. I slept really well last night and will sleep late tomorrow. Will probably only get about 4-5 hrs of sleep on Tues.

Nothing else new to talk about. Please stay safe and take care of yourselves.

Dawn

I will do my best Maryanne. I am trying to keep hydrated in the hopes that that keeps food out of my mouth. It is out of worry I know. So glad Teddy is home!

Yes, I have work to do and I have plenty of homework to do. I have also done some cleaning. Today I am going to get my nails done. I think that should be fine.

Morning all.
Elizabeth, I'm glad you're home safe and sound.
Dawn, how frustrating about that nurse which is the last thing you need right now!! Sounds like its going to be miserable for you for the foreseeable future. Please take care of yourself!
Janine...just plan your meals and do your best to stay out of the kitchen except for designated times. You can do it....now are you off? Or can you work? Might be a great time to get some school work done?!
Sue please take care of yourself during these crazy work day.
Laura....how are you feeling? How's your ankle/foot?

Nothing here. Ran a few errands yesterday and then came home and relaxed with Netflix. Today we're moving a rug to my cousins house. Teddy came home late yesterday so fingers crossed!!!

Have a great day.
Maryanne

We are officially closed for two weeks. I am worried I may get a bit stir crazy or gain a ton of weight.

Baystate Hospital is now saying there are 24 patients that are suspected of having Covid-19. I was worried my friend was one of them, but she was discharged today and is home.

Dawn....hearing about that nurse makes me scared and sad. So glad that patient had you to look out for him and he's now in a place where he will get the added care needed. I think the 24 "suspected" cases are just the beginning. There are way more than that I am convinced.

If you focus on results, you will never change. If you focus on change, you will get results.

Hey all,

Cloudy but warmish here today.

Maryanne, oh gosh, Iím SO worried about your Teddy. I will be praying for him. Poor bubba.
I hope your sinuses are doing better than mine. The top of my head wants to blow off.

Janine, they closed Plymouth schools for ď2 weeksĒ too. Itíll be more than 2 weeks. We havenít even seen the tip of the iceberg here with this COVID19!!! Our hospital has instituted a NO visitors policy for now. The hospital is weirdly quiet. The ED was empty except for the very, very sick and the director of critical care informed us that we are going to have to be very judicious about who gets an ICU bed.

Elizabeth, welcome back. Iím glad youíre safe and sound. Ok to go to work but engage in social distancing as much as possible. Wash your hands frequently and make sure to sanitize your work stations and computer key boards etc with antibacterial cleaning products. Iím sure thereís not one container of wipes on the shelves. People have gone berserk!!!

We did send a 49 y/o pt who was most certainly COVID19 to Boston vented this morning. He was in very grave condition and I think MGH was planning to pronate him fairly early. Pronation is when they put them in a bed that can flip them over so that they are face down. That way the lungs can get better faster. Thatís the easiest way to explain it. If you google ďrotoprone bedsĒ youíll see what it looks like. Itís pretty frightening to have a pt proned and itís hard to take care of them. Itís worse when they code b/c you actually have to get into the bed with them!!! Not fun. Anywho, another nurse and I got the guy settled. His nurse was no where to be seen so, of course, I lost my stuffing and told him he better get in to see his pt ďnow!!!!Ē. I think he was the another reason the doc sent the pt to MGH b/c this nurse, who I believe to be inept, was going to kill the guy. Management wouldnít let us switch the assignment!!! I was fit to be tied. I really was. By midnight last night I had 14,000+ steps on my Fitbit. Plus, my own pt was on COVID19 precautions as well. I spent much of the night wearing the ďsuitĒ. Also not fun. I was exhausted by the time I got home and am not feeling much better now. Will probably do some yoga, take care of the animals and head right back to bed. I am back to work on Mon/Tues and then I have a few days off.....hopefully.

Please, everyone, read the CDC guidelines for infection prevention. Make sure you are all washing your hands and staying hydrated. Limit, limit, limit going out as much as you possibly can. Those are the recommendations. Stay away from crowds. Seriously. I am not joking. Please listen to me and be very careful. This is far from over.

Hope the night is good for all of you.

Dawn
