Hi there
I am 56 and have a 30 year old son. He is VERY into fitness, he is a body builder and weight lifter and is in constant shape for his exhibitions. I can remember when he was a kid all he would eat was chicken nuggets, taco flavored hamburg, and celeste pizzas! Now, he's teaching me about nutrition and has me on a program! It's not like his because he does his for competition purposes as well as being healthy, but he's trying to get me to a healthy point in my life. He is teaching me first and foremost to weigh and measure my food. Then, he's trying to get me to drink 8 8oz. of water a day, I'm up to 5. I had to start small on that because my stomach would hurt too much. Then, for exercise, I am doing something I enjoy, and that's the key, find something you enjoy or you won't do it. So, on Monday and Wednesday I belly dance and also on Wednesday I do tap dancing. The rest of the week, if the weather is bad, I walk up and down my hallway for 3 10 minute walks and the rest of the time I either do home videos or walk outside. So, I hope this helps you some, and don't forget, with email, you don't need a buddy who lives near you, you just need someone you can hash things out with on email.
