Roland, I can't imagine, being out of power during these horrible cold days. Are you one of those many thousands. I am praying right now for all of those who are without power? Keep us posted.

Eileen, please keep us updated about Montana.

Darlene, we want to know about Sharon too.

There is just so very much sadness in the lives of our team's family and friends. We are praying.

My friend in South Portland, Maine said they had Thunder Snow last night and torrential rain and then more snow. Crazy weather!! Here in Florida we woke up to temps in the 50's. It's starting to cool finally. It does get a bit cold here in the winter ; )
Hope people get their power back on soon. I remember living through power outages when I lived in Topsham. We had a terrible power grid!

Eileen,

I'm totally with you on praying over the situation with Israel. I truly believe that God has spared the US from a lot of things due to the fact they we have always treated Israel with high regard and been a friend to them.

When you reach the end of your rope...you will find the hem of His garment!

Good morning all! It's a beautiful day here today. We have been out to the store and pretty soon I"ll be going for more books. A bookaholic me!!
I'm doing so well going chocolate free. I"m determined! I'm feeling so much better too. I don't seem to eat chocolate for the taste. It's more like needing a fix of some kind. Weird......
I'm so pleased with my cleaning job yesterday. The house hasn't been cleaned like that in a long time. It's so easy to just let things go here with the windows open all the time. I just say let the dust blow, but it had gotten to the point it needed to be swept up.
I"m looking forward to a new year. I know it will be a challenging one, but I know good things will happen. Just praying for our country and for things to settle down. Can only pray that God will not judge us harshly for our turning our back on Israel.
Hope everyone is doing okay. Up in Maine where I'm from they are expecting a Nor'easter! I don't miss that kind of weather!!! Have a great day everyone!

Sitting in my recliner resting after tearing the house apart. If you look at my page you can see my house so you will understand it doesn't take that long to clean, but it was some dirty!!! One of my cats is a short hair but very fuzzy underneath that short hair. She likes to "share" it ..... Found a lot of her stashes ; ) Got my Christmas village and bear nativity set put away which was all we had out this year. My husband isn't much for decorations so I don't keep them out long after Christmas. With him out bowling today I thought it was the perfect time to do everything. Got the floor swept and washed and then I was so wasted and sweaty I ended up in the shower and changed my clothes completely. The house looks great and smells nice too.
It's a beautiful day here and I have all the windows and the door open. Ya, it will bring in more dust and dirt, but we will deal with that another day! Left overs for supper tonight so just tossing them in the microwave oven. I"m resting the rest of the day!!

How is the housecleaning going Shortstory? I usually don't put my Christmas decorations away until after New Years day. This year I am going to get rid of some stuff because I have waaay too many Christmas decorations. Thanks for the motivation!

Now that Christmas is history for this year it's time to think of the new year. I actually feel a since of hope and anticipation. Just hope I can find the motivation to do something about my weight. I see the doctor the first of February and would like to see a good loss by then.
I'm getting ready for my end of the year house cleaning job. It has developed into a tradition for me. I kind of give the house a good going over and get things organized in the cupboards and closets. I kidded my husband that I'm going to be like the old ladies in Italy on New Years. They open their windows and throw things out!!! Probably won't do that, but the place does need cleaning bad! The decorations are being put away tomorrow and then look out. Good thing he will be out bowling ; )

It's Christmas Eve!!! I used to get so excited about this day when I was a kid. I was remembering this morning one Christmas Eve that I couldn't get to sleep. I was so afraid Santa wouldn't come if I was awake. I tried so hard, but couldn't fall asleep! Then I heard a sound on the roof and knew I was doomed! I closed my eyes so tight and stayed as still as I could. I knew I was in trouble if Santa didn't show up. It would be my fault for not sleeping! I was so relieved when I got up that morning and saw presents under the tree. I guess I fooled him good ; )
Those days are long gone and life isn't the same as it was just a few years ago. I'm sure other people are experiencing the same. Some of us are dealing with loss or illness. Low funds can make Christmas difficult too. We want the magic of the season and it hurts when that is gone.
I hope each of you will be blessed knowing that no matter what our situation God is there with us all the way. He chose to come to earth as a baby when he could have come as a ruler. He chose to live as a human and experience everything we do. Christmas is the day we celebrate his coming to earth. May that truth be with you tomorrow and every day!

Remember, that some people may be experiencing sadness during this joyous time of the year. I am trying to hold myself together for my boys, but it is hard. Grief and pain are real. Everyone's experiences are different so please check on your family and friends throughout the holiday season. I know that God is with me and He is with me while I go through this personal storm. May God bless you and Happy Holidays to each of you!

Hi Shortstory2,

I am very busy with Christmas. I still have to finish a Christmas craft, wrap a couple of presents and go food shopping for Christmas eve and Christmas and to boot I have to do a bit of Christmas cookie baking! We are going to the Christmas eve service at my church on Saturday. They won't have a Christmas service Sunday. I guess not alot of people show up. I have no idea why they don't do that. After that some of our friends are coming over on Christmas eve so we can give them some presents. My husband likes Christmas. He doesn't like to put up the decorations though he leaves that to me nor does he like to put up the lights. I put the lights up last year but I refused this year. I found a new projector this year that has different color lights that it reflects on the house which is pretty cool. He also had neck surgery this year so there is no way he could go up on a ladder and well, lets just put it this way the rest of the family is not motivated to do that either. I am thinking of hiring a company for next year to do the christmas lights on our house. I have no idea how much that is going to cost but it is something fun to do. I am from Homestead, Florida and just went back about a month ago. It was so warm. I now live in Utah and its cold here brrrr. My mom always talks about the nice warm weather and I miss it. My dad lives in Florida too and he took a picture of him at the beach! They sure do show off! Anyway, I hope you have a fun and relaxing Christmas because trust me, mine is super busy.

Hello team. Hope everyone is doing okay. I imagine Christmas is keeping everyone pretty busy. Lots of last minute shopping to do not to mention cooking! Be sure to get some ME time in there! I have it pretty easy since it's just the two of us and we don't do gifts. My husband just isn't into it so I just let it all go. I"m enjoying my decorations and just the reason for the season. Ya, I"d love to have the old days when Christmas was a fun time, but it is what is is now.
Beautiful day here today. It's cooling a bit here in Florida, but still shorts weather. I hope the weather will stay good for those who are traveling all over the country.
Trying hard to behave myself today and not get into the junk. My husband brought home fudge yesterday!!! ; (
Only a few days to go until the big one! Hope you get everything done so you can enjoy.

Just wanted to stop and say hope everyone had a great day. It was chilly here this morning but warmed up to 40 this afternoon. We have been having some crazy weather.
The youth pastor picked up my kiddo's for youth tonight. (I don't drive in the dark) They should be home soon.
I have been fighting with my sinuses the last few days. Yesterday I did nothing but sit in my recliner under my fuzzy blanket. I was able to take my Mom to the store today.
Tomorrow I must get busy on wrapping.. Got a few clothes and books for the kids to wrap.

Hope you all have a good night. Many hugs and blessings to you.

Happy first day of winter! If you are bothered by the gloom of the season get out your day light lamp. It does work! Here in Florida it's cooler---yes it does get cool here ; )
I tossed the rest of my candy this morning. I'm done with it! Going to start on my better way of eating with no junk! It weird, but when I eat chocolate I don't really get much from the flavor. It's more like a chemical fix. My drug of choice I guess. Giving it up! Why waste calories on something you just swallow and not enjoy : )
Hope everyone has a great day. Santa will be here soon!

Hello team! Hope everyone is having a good week so far. It's getting closer to Christmas! When I worked in retail (for 25 years) it was hard to get into the spirit of the season. Everyone was so rushed and stressed with all the customers and the demands. I remember the day before Christmas everyone would have a department Christmas party. It was basically just treats that would be in the managers offices but it gave everyone a chance for a break and a time to relax and enjoy some goodies. I worked in receiving and shipping and would put on a huge spread that everyone would show up to. Even the store manager! We had so much to eat that the table would almost buckle under the weight. It was a fun time and people felt so able to just relax and enjoy visiting and eating.
Now I'm long retired from there and work in general. My family is all gone except my sister who lives way up in Maine---I'm in Florida. My husband isn't into the holiday at all. I have my lighted village up and my nativity set but I'm having a rough time getting into the spirit of the season. I had to remind myself yesterday that the past is in the past. I need to move on and forget what Christmas used to be and just celebrate the day. It's not about the gifts that won't be here or the tree we don't have room for. It's the time of year we set aside to celebrate the fact that God came into OUR world as one of us. He could have come as a ruler, but chose to come as an innocent baby and grow up in our world and experience all we do. He was never a rich person as far as things or money. He didn't have a holiday like we do this time of year when we give each other gifts and eat too much. That all didn't come about until he was brutally killed for us!!! I guess if I look at Christmas in that light I won't get so caught up in the magic of it all that isn't with me anymore. It's a miracle! God was born a baby in our world and gave His life for us so we can all live with Him someday! That is more than enough to celebrate. I guess I don't need gifts after all. I got the best one ever all those years ago!

I don't know what heaven is like. Not sure what form people are in that are there now---physical or spirit. All I do know is heaven is a place of joy, wellness, and you are with Jesus. For those of us who have lost loved ones lets think of them there as we remember them. Picture them as well and with no restrictions. They are happy beyond belief. They will always be missed, but we can be assured they are in a wonderful place and just waiting for us to join them. I pray that everyone will be able to find joy in that fact.

Your post is beautiful Angelsrejoice. You are such a strong woman. You lost your daughter yet you know that she is at peace and that has given you peace. The point I think that everyone is trying to make realityshowgirl is that Jesus loves us. He puts people in our lives for a little while to help us with this life experience and then they move on which means we have to move on but the memories of these people whether its our grandparents, parents, children etc. make a mark on our hearts and even though we miss them we can remember the experiences that we had with them.

I can so relate to missing people I have lost. Both of my parents are gone now. Christmas has never been the same for me since. My husband just isn't into it at all and just spends too much on his grown sons and his two grand sons. I did put up my Christmas village that lights up so I can sit and enjoy it at night and embrace the old memories. I agree too that we shouldn't cling to things of this life since it's not our real life. I hope that in the not too distant future that we will be celebrating Christmas with Jesus!

Hi Reality Show girl,

I can empathize with you because all of my grandparents have gone now to be with the Lord. When I miss them I look back at the happy memories we shared. I will never forget something my grandfather on my mom's side told me. He said that we should not cling to the things of this life. It isn't permanent but to embrace Jesus Christ because that is where our eternity is. When I would mention to my grandparents how scared I was for them to leave me they all said the same thing. We will never leave you. They are right. I can feel their love sometimes when I am thinking about them and sometimes a smell or something that someone says will remind me of them. I will pray for you because I know your pain. I hope that in some way my words will help you. Take care.

Michelle, Christmas is a time that we miss the ones that we once spent many happy moments together. Hang in there, sweetie. You can smile as you see through your spirit what he is now enjoying so very much. I miss my mother too. Somedays are worse than others. Yet I smile through the tears to know she is so very happy and at peace.

Saying a prayer for you.

Reality Show Girl: The wonderful thing about being in Christ Jesus is that HE forgives our sins no matter what it is we have done. If we ask for forgiveness HE will forgive us . Why? Because He loved us so much that He came down to earth to teach us, guide us, love us and then die for our sins. Think about this for a minute. Psalms 103: 11-12: For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is his love for those who fear him; as far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us.

Praise His name. Hallelujah.

Eileen, I am so glad you had a wonderful 4 day cruise.

I love and agree with what Michelle wrote accept what is, let go what was and have faith in what will be. What wonderful advice if all of us follow it!
I heard this made up story about a man who dies and goes to heaven. He is shown all around Heaven and comes to this one room where it is stacked high with gifts. He soon noticed his name was on each. When he inquired as to why, the answer was "These were all blessings you could have had if you had only asked.

I truly hope that our team remembers to ask for God's individual guidance and blessings for themselves and then for each other. As we look at one another's home page, we see the hurts and pains that some are experiencing right now.

We just got home yesterday from a 4 day cruise. I did eat things I shouldn't have, but we walked miles everyday so I don't think it stuck ; ) What a wonderful time!! I even went on a water slide which was something like going down a bob sled run. Wasn't sure if I liked it or not...... It went so fast it was over before I knew it though. : ) Just should have kept my mouth shut on the way down because I got a mouth full of salt water at the end ; (
Making today my official start to my weight loss. I had my fill of chocolate on the trip so going to concentrate on just eating the good stuff. I actually reached the point on the last day that I was sick of eating. Surprised myself ; )
I'm taking the advice Realityshowgirl posted here before me: Accept what is, let go what was and have faith in what will be. Great advice!!! I need to embrace each day given and let go of the past. I can't bring it back. What will be might be rough and it might be great! One thing I do know is that God will be with me all the way!

Icecub, I love your pic. You are dressed for the winter, aren't you.

Glad you are here. Maybe, we can still lose some weight in the winter although we cannot get out to exercise much.

I FIND IT HARDER TO LIVE HEALTHY IN THE WINTER. MUCH D/T THE COLD WEATHER. STAYING INSIDE FOR ME MAKES IT HARDER TO EAT HEALTHY. BUT I AM TRYING.

NEVER GIVE UP!! EASTERN TIME

Thank you for sharing,Sunny. I did not realize you had had kidney surgery. You have really been through some difficult times. I see your faith in God has not weakened, but seems stronger than ever. What in the world would we do without him? I too had one of the worse years ever last year and the first part of this one. However, my back has healed from that awful back surgery and having a plate put in my back. God is definitely good and always walks with us.

Good Morning GGP's

Yesterday I got the results of my last blood test. My calcium levels are almost normal. Thank you God I am so grateful. The next followup will be in January. The Dr said to resume normal activities.

It has been a long two years- starting with the kidney surgery. I am thankful I had a great team of doctors who diligently looking beyond and got to the root of the problem. Now it is my job to maintain.

I have been fairly successful ( at least for me) the past three months, losing 10# in Oct, 5 in November and have been struggling this month. A lot of this months issues have been emotional eating. Not binging- but excess portions.

As I continue to heal spiritually, emotionally and physically, I realize that some days are one moment at a time. I continue to hang on to the Promise that I am loved just as I am, and that He has great things in store for me. I have a stubborn streak and an inner brat that loves having her way. She has been quiet lately,

God didn't promise I would be thin, beautiful or without problems. He did promise to be by my side and love me, and carry me through.

F.R.O.G.

Hugs all

well said, Eva. I still must agree that winter time is the best time for me to lose weight. In the summer the days are so much longer and more time to be tempted to eat.

Please read the team purpose and let me know your thoughts.

Not taking care of your body shows you have a lack of faith in God's promises. And that you don't respect the house that the Holy Spirit lives in. I seem to detach from the idea of letting God take control of my stress. Even though I was justified in my fear of stress in the beginning of a certain situation, now my eating is just a mindless habit of boredom.

I find that the winter time is really worse for eating healthy, being active, or relaxing. I feel very trapped indoors because of winter. Because of the driving in bad weather; I don't exercise. No more excuses! Living long and healthy; I must do what's necessary. I really don't need to gorge myself eating holiday foods to pretend that I am having a good time. My excuses were that there was always some food, habit, or excuse for me to comfort my emotions with food. But I am changing how I relate to food because I am more are of myself, health, and medical situations relating to foods. So I need to show that i love myself enough to take care of my body, eva.

Do you think it is easier to start "our journeys to better health" in the winter when the days are shorter? For me it is, I sleep later, go to bed earlier, and use my treadmill some in between. By the time warm weather gets here, I might have lost some extra, unwanted pounds to make me feel less self-conscious.
