Sorry to hear that your hubby's diabetes has progressed to the point of needing to inject insulin. That is a scary thought for me, since I have diabetes.

I'm starting the Keto lifestyle, I know that people have many different opinions on it, but it worked for me in the past, I'm just doing more research on it before I fully start on it again this time. It is what helped me lose the first 100, so I think that to get out of the rut I am in, I need to go back to that way of eating. It makes more sense for someone who has had a gastric bypass, only I have to have more protein than they recommend, because I don't absorb all the protein I take in, so in order to get enough, I have to ingest more. Hope that made sense the way i explained it, I'm super tired right now. I think I hear the coffee pot calling my name!!

Knowing that I'd be making this change and having to cut most sugars, but not willing to give up all sugar in my coffee, I've cut the amount of sugar in my coffee by 34ths in the last few months. I'm down to about 1 tsp of sugar. Not sure I could get any lower than that. I've drank sweet coffee my whole life, since I was 15. I think any lower and I may as well just quit or go to just one cup again.

I'm not sleeping well again, so have been too tired to work out. I'm going to go to bed early tonight and see if that helps any. I've been having a hot soak in the tub the past two night (since my massage on Monday) with epsoms salt. Really helps with the first few hours of sleep but after that, I'm still not sleeping so great.

It has been hectic lately. Today hubby had his diabetes appointment with his primary care physician. He now has to inject insulin. We were actually at the appointment for 2 hours. It was a bit stressful. Tomorrow we have to go to the cardiologist because of the breathing issues. I imagine he will be required to have some tests done after that. Not a lot of gym time this week for me. We stopped to get soup and salad at a local restaurant for an early dinner. I did get in a walk today.

Thank you Linda. I think they are linked to not only my stress level but my lack of sleep level as well. this week I seem to have gotten a whole lot less sleep than I have been getting. I really need to see a sleep doctor, but the first thing they are going to want to do is sleep apnea test and I am sick of going down that road. My insurance won't cover it because I don't sleep enough because of my insomnia. I have very mild sleep apnea, but I do have it. But you have to sleep for x amount of hours with the mask on per night in order for them to approve it. I don't sleep that much on bad nights. sometimes not even on goodnights.

Anyway, I didn't get to work out yesterday like I planned and that kinda bummed me out but today is my day of rest (10 minutes on the treadmill) and surely I can manage that. We have church and then go straight to get some crab legs for FIL and DH's birthday celebrations. We are having a low country boil. Yum.

Well, tomorrow starts a new workout week for me, and a new beginning and chance to get it right. I'm hoping I can manage my before bed routine and get myself sleeping right again. Last night I curled up with my doggo and wrote my nightly 'brain dump' and did my nightly prayer journal. Then when doggo was put up for the night (she did not want to go, lol) I put on a cold eye mask and went to sleep.

I accomplished a lot of housework today and even two loads of laundry. So I feel good about that. I did get in some exercise. We have had a lot of rain and wind today. It is warm for winter in Ohio, in the 60s. So I am enjoying the warmer temps.

Karri - so sorry about the migraines. I also get them but you do suffer more than I do. It is just so awful to have the terrible pain.

I had a very busy day yesterday as well. My DD13 came down sick, thankfully not the flu or strep that is going around, but a virus that doesn't last long. Whew! Then to the UPS store and grocery shopping for a large shopping trip (we were out of a lot of the basics, I even forgot several things!). We had planned on going to Goodwill and to the pharmacy, but ended up on the wrong side of the hwy and by the time we were done with grocery shopping I was done. I was getting a migraine, and I'm not supposed to drive when I have one (easier said than done) and so we had to hurry home and I had to reschedule our vet appointment. The plumber that came by was less than useless, we may as well have flushed that money down the toilet. He did at least find where the problem was, but he had no idea how to fix it or what the actual problem was just that the leak was in this area because this was where the water damage was. Gee, so helpful. And he still charged us!!

I have not been working out, I've been getting less and less sleep again and migraines and appointments. But I'm going to work out this morning. I feel like working out helps me to sleep better, so I want to get back in the habit of it. Right now I'm sitting with my sun lamp for an hour before I do, neurologists orders for when I get up for the day. It is supposed to help my circadian rhythm get back to where it should be.

Today I went to the gym and had a great workout. Hubby and I went out to a late lunch. I ate way too many carbs. I will need to do eat better tomorrow and also drink water all day. When I went to eat, I unexpectedly ran into my BFF of almost 60 years. We don't live in the same city and only occasionally get together. She lives about an hour north of us. But it was certainly fun to chat. Later, it was mani/pedi with my daughter. My days are normally not this full. But it was a busy day.

raining here too, but supposed to be sunshining tomorrow. I got a sunlamp that is supposed to come in the mail today! I was told I needed more vitamin D and to take a supplement and use a sunlamp the first 30 minutes after I wake up, both to help me with my circadian rhythm (I have bad insomnia, so I'd wait and use it when I'm up for the day) and to help with the vitamin d and winter blues problems. I hope it helps!!

I got in my ST and also went to Zumba today. It was a great workout. Not a good day weather wise, rained all day and gloomy. However, exercising made the day better.

Thanks Linda, and I'm sorry to hear about your headache. I know all too well how those can derail you!! I don't workout when I have one because for me, that makes it worse.

I'm feeling better this morning. Yesterday I walked with varying speeds and incline for 38 min!! Then stretched for a good 10 minutes, my hips needed it! I plan on getting some mild walking in today, it's my rest day, but I believe in moving the body every day and since it is raining and I can't walk the dog, I'll get on the treadmill for at least 10 minutes, and stretch. I got some of the exercise bands for Christmas (yay!) and didn't get a chance to play around with them yesterday, so may do that today, depending on the time, I'm running a little late today. I didn't get more sleep... I just didn't want to get out of bed! LOL, I kept trying to go back to sleep because I was comfy for once and I'd been having a really nice dream.

Trying to be more active throughout the day and meet my goal of at least 6k steps during January. I got just over it yesterday at 6,145!!! My goal with my health coach (insurance is making me have on of their coaches once a month) is 7k. That was because I reached 6k once. She's a little pushy, but in a nice way.

I have had a lot of coffee today. Trying to get in the caffiene.I have had a terrible headache today. Nothing is helping. We expect a day full of rain tomorrow. I am sure that is why. I did some exercise today, cleaned two bathrooms and went out for dinner with hubby. I was good and ordered a nice salad with a low calorie dressing.

Linda, I'm so sorry you fell! My ortho doc is not going to be happy once he starts seeing me again (aka once I get a running vehicle) because I had been falling on my bad knee a lot and it is not a happy knee now. But I'm walking and icing when it is not too cold and using a topical on it as well. The topical is meant for the arthritis in my hands, and that is what I use it for but some nights it gets so bad that if I don't have something to at least dull the pain a little, I'd never get sleep! I hope you are feeling better and keep icing and moving that knee so it doesn't' stiffen up! If you can take NSAIDS (I can't) motrin is your friend to keep it from inflammation!

DH said he would work out with me yesterday, and neither of us did. Me because of tooth pain and migraine, him because of throat pain and mild fever, he is coming down sick on his time off. He has all next week off too because of use/lose leave.

My tooth still hurts, but I'm making an appointment for as soon as possible, and hoping to still be able to work out today, at least to get a good walk and some pilates and yoga in.

I felt much better today after icing my knees. I took a walk even though I did have some bruises on my knees. The fall was scary but not too bad. I did a bit of grocery shopping today. Tomorrow hoping to make it to the gym.

Tried to exercise this morning but a darn migraine caused me to not be able to. I really want to be able to work out more, but it seems it is either sleep or migraine getting in the way. Too much stress this time of year. I know working out will help, so as soon as I get rid of the last vestiges of this migraine I'm going to try to walk some.

I went to my exercise class today. One of my friends there gave me homemade bourbon chocolates. I don't need the sweets but boy they are delicious. lol

Karri - I know what you mean about portion size. I do not measure anymore either. I will say I am good at a restaurant. I never finish my portion and often bring it home. But I should try to do better when I make dinner at home. Very cold here as well. It was about 14 last night but warming up a bit over the next few days. Yay!!

Doing a reboot on my eating. I realized that I had stopped measuring and was eyeballing and was having bigger eyes than I have a stomach!!! So, reboot, but my way. I'm craving salt, so I'm adding 10 green beans with olive oils and salt and pepper, oven roasted. As well as prunes to help with, ah, movement, lol. And 1 glass of gatorade and 1 fiber drink. I'm dehydrated, so lots of water and less caffeine. I tend to drink a lot of coffee in the colder months, so bouillon it is until I can make some kind of broth. I don't like bouillon like I used to, my tastes have changed a lot, I'm more picky, but it's a good way to get a low calorie hot drink, as well as hot tea, I only add like 1/2 a tsp if that to most herbal teas, so we are good there, I'll do that.

Last night got down to 26!! I got so cold I had to change into warmer shirt, put on socks, put a thermal blanket on my side of the bed, and eat something warm. DH was worried about my blood pressure but it was actually higher than normal from me shivering so much (I think) and my blood sugar was a little on the high side, just a tad. I shivered myself to sleep, I finally warmed up and fell asleep. Getting out of bed was so hard!! I'm going to have to get some sweats or thermals to wear to bed for the rest of winter!

Linda, so sorry to hear about the people having cancer, but it is amazing how resilient people can be!! And I'm seizure free, so no need to be sorry! It's the insomnia I'm worried about. We are going to spend the month of December working on trying to get me sleeping better and if that doesn't work, get me in to see a sleep specialist.

Working out, baby steps. I want to just charge in and go! But, I'm remembering that I'm not getting enough sleep so I'm trying not to overdo it. If I manage a nap and get enough hours of sleep, then I do a full workout after I get up, if not, then just the treadmill, 10 minutes of pilates, and some yoga/stretching.

I went to the gym today. I came home and did a bit of work in the kitchen. It is cold now, afternoon 30F, at night 19F. So I am sipping hot tea as I Spark. I was saddened to learn that 4 people that I know at the gym, all seniors, have cancer. WOW! That is so tough to hear. A man that is 92 has only 3-4 months left to live. I found this out today - yesterday he was at the gym smiling and working out. Amazing.

In case you don't see my blog, I don't have seizures! I'm free to drive and take baths and all that stuff again!!! I have severe insomnia, so my brain shuts off when I don't get enough sleep, so I actually have a prescription to nap if I don't get enough sleep!! The down side is that my fitbit stopped tracking my sleep, and I don't always look at the clock! So having a hard time with keeping track of my sleep some nights. I don't always feel sleepy, that is insomnia for you. But my brain just shuts down like a faulty computer, and it can look like a seizure. So I still have to be careful. I still can't drive till my car is fixed so early January, but yay still! And I already know what my birthday present is going to be!!! A new (to me) car!! WooHoo!

I finally get to start really working out again, and can't wait to dive in! That pilates video that was posted was just what I need! I can't wait to give it a try (after I clean the basement where I do videos).

This is Bubba George. When the original owner passed, a neighbor was given it. It has been in the neighborhood forever and have become a neighborhood 'celebretrity' LOL. The day after Thanksgiving he was decked out for Christmas!!

There is a defunct fire hydrant that a local artist in the neighborhood got permission to paint, it helps the firemen to remember that it does not work too, so a win all around!



I LOVE MapMyWalk!! It has a map, so I didn't get lost in the winding neighborhood and ODD and I took a nice leisurely walk and did over a mile.

Have not worked out since I got home. First day was recuperation and running errands (SO many errands!!) and yesterday I had a migraine that had me in bed all day. I finally rescheduled my heart test and took my pain reliever that has caffeine in it and had a cup of coffee. Caffeine helps a lot, so does the pain med. Took it with my migraine med and went back to bed. When I got up the pain was down to a level I could hang out with the kids my my skin was still super sensitive, kinda like when you have the flu and have a severe fever. Everything hurts.

But, got plans to work out Wednesday (today, my insomnia is acting up bad!!). And just do what I can, not be lazy about, but not overdo it, since I'm still recuperating from that migraine. It was a doozy!

P.S. Sorry the pics are sideways, I don't know why SP is doing that, it is driving me crazy!!

We have had cold rain today, tonight will be a mix of precipitation. Other than going to church, I have been indoors today. I did a little housecleaning and laundry. I plan to relax for the evening. Hope to make it to the gym tomorrow.

I have had such a wonderful time!! If it wasn't for the constant cigarette smoke in the house, we would stay longer. As it is, DH is saying we will stay in a hotel and stay for less time next time. The bed is super uncomfortable, but we can deal with that, it's the smoke penetrating everything and not being able to get away from it that is driving us crazy!!

I had such a wonderful time with my BFF!!!! We went out to eat (my treat because I knew she would no accept gas money help from me, and I knew she could not really afford both) and we exchanged gifts. I let her open one christmas gift and gave her set of crochet stuff that while I love, I know she will love too. At least I hope she will!!. And she has one present to open on Christmas. She already guessed that it is a necklace, but that is okay.

I know I have gained weight. I was only able to go on one walk. I'll post a picture or two later of things along the way, I think you'll get a kick out of them. I'm getting back to serious keto (my way, low fat, low carb heavy on the meat and non-starchy veg). I am supposed to be Paleo, but found that does not work for me the way I do Keto works, and maybe it is not Keto at all because of the low fat, but hey, we do what works for our bodies!!

Please say a prayer or send good vibes, whatever you do, we are trying to refinance our home, and if it goes through, we will be able to have a good Christmas and catch up on debts, if it does not go through..... we are going to have a very lean Christmas and a rough couple of months trying to catch everything up. I don't do the finances or have a hand in them (which is going to change) all I know is my own credit cards and such.

I took a walk this morning. Also had a phone call from SIL and had to get off the phone as easily as possible. Boy, I talked 15 minutes before I could get off...she will talk an hour if I allow it. We are going out to dinner this evening. I plan to also make a quick stop on the way home at a store. It is raining off and on today. Dark skies...blah!

Karri - yes, you may be right. It may have been the bloat from the colonoscopy. Happy that the procedure is in the books for 5 more years. Happy to hear that the heart tests did not detect problems. What a relief. Enjoy time with your BFF!!

emoticon For getting such a great workout in Linda!! If I had to throw a guess I would say colonoscopy. My friend was so bloated after his (now this was a few years ago, so things may have changed) and it took quite a few days for that to go away. Don't let it discourage you!

I have had to take it easy due to my heart, and I'm pretty much done with that. Nothing has happened, the tests that I've done so far have come back good (how a holter monitor for one day is supposed to show anything, I don't know), but I'm tired of tiptoeing. I want to get back to my fitness routine because being lazy is surprisingly making me eat more!! I guess boredom. I've tried to stay busy, but I have also been so tired, it has been difficult. I downloaded mapmywalk finally and while at Grandma's that is how I will workout, with a few walks a day.

Oh, and I get to see my bestie on Saturday!! I have not seen her in like 9 or 10 years! We've only messaged or phoned, I can't wait!!!!!

I went to the gym today and had a great workout class. I also took a walk later. Temps are okay for us...50s, 60s for Tuesday and Wednesday. I was up 4 pounds on the scale this morning. I don't know if it was too much sodium or the after effects of having meds at my colonoscopy. Either way, I hope the scale drops soon.

Temps just did a very similar thing here, was a little warmer today, but totally didn't feel like it. The wind is making it feel colder. DD took my coat and lost it at school. I'm betting I never see my coat again. It was thicker and much warmer than hers so I let her borrow it since some things we can do that (okay, it's too small on me, but I love the coat and have been saving it for the day I could wear it again, it was an expensive one). I'm rather upset with her about it. She's done this with a few things recently including one of my nice water bottles.

Normally I sleep very well. I am out of one of my meds, which helps me sleep, so Sunday night was the night I only got about 6 hours of sleep. However, I took a long nap so it more or less equaled 7.5 hours. My meds are being sent to me so I should have them by next week. I am happy that they will be here. I worked out at the gym yesterday and today. We had snow last night. It was only a couple of inches but the temps dropped 30 degrees yesterday from morning 'til night. It has turned very cold and is 23 now but will be much colder tonight.

My day started with our insurance agent who was giving us information for our health policy for 2020. He called to say he was going to be late. I didn't mind but he ended up being much later than expected. I had a wax appointment and afraid that I would be late. The agent left 20 minutes before my appointment. I was able to arrive at the salon right on time. However, I had to sit for 15 minutes until the technician came out to get me. It is the story of my life, "hurry up and wait." emoticon I was able to get in some exercise today by taking a walk. It was cold today and although no accumulating snow yet, we may be receiving a small amount on Monday. Not really looking forward to it.

Today was a major cleaning/decluttering day for me as I attacked the kitchen with zeal. The only things that need tending now is the inside and outside of the fridge and microwave. I even set up and tested my aerogarden to see if it still worked, and it does! I don't think I'm going to start anything till after the holidays, but want an herb kit to go in it. I'd love to have fresh rosemary and thyme to go in my chicken stock!!

Tomorrow: the living room!!

I went to the gym today and worked out in my class and also other activities. I also cleaned the house today. After being ill, things were not in very good shape. Hubby helped with a few things but either way it looks much better.

Linda, Yay for both of us making it to church! I made it through the whole sermon and music. I didn't help with set up, but I did with tear down, mostly the music and electronics. When I couldn't find DH after taking some of his personal stuff out to the car, I went ahead and collected the kids and went and sat in the car, because most of the other stuff was done.

I didn't get a workout in yesterday, I'll write why on my blog, it's a long reason, LOL. But I wish I had, I need the workout!! Going to this morning as soon as the family is gone.

I went to church this morning. It was the first time in 3 weeks since I vacationed and was sick. It was nice to be able to go and also to talk with people that are friendly. I didn't get in much of a workout today but hope to go to the gym tomorrow.

Karri - glad that you decided to go to church. When I am feeling overwhelmed with something like anxiety, if I have a plan to do something it can help me keep my mind off of anxiety triggers. Tearing down the chairs and putting them away was a good thing to keep your mind less busy. Good luck with your goal of cutting out caffeine. It can be a tough thing to do.

I'm so sorry to hear about your thyroid, but maybe finding this will help you feel better and start losing weight. Awesome on walking 4 miles, what a great NSV!!!

Didn't get to work out much yesterday, we didn't get home till almost 8 PM, and we were all exhausted. I made myself stay awake and go to bed my normal time. Still woke up at midnight.

Was debating going to church or not, but DH mentioned that a new guy will be leading worship and the usual guys won't be there to help them set up or take down (we still meet in a gym at the community center, so we set up tarp, chairs and everything for church), so I'm going to go so I can help him. I'm nervous, because my anxiety has been really bad of late, but I am working on a breathing technique and grounding technique to help with that, so may as well go and test it out. I'll help DH set up and tear down and hopefully it will go faster.

I'm going to experiment with no caffeine this week. I have been letting myself drink caffeinated beverages to keep my heart rate and blood pressure up, but can't help but wonder what would happen if I didn't do that. So Monday starts no caffeine for me for at the very least 3 days to see what happens.

I had my physical this morning. I also received one of the blood tests that I didn't know about. My thyroid - I have hypothyroid & take meds - was bad. The doctor is going to increase my dosage. I hope that once things get settled I may lose a few pounds. I am at a plateau and have been for such a long time.

I walked over 4 miles today. Yay!

Linda, so sorry to hear that, I hope it goes away quickly, but keep using the meds to make sure it is completely gone! I had chickenpox as a child so when I get a little older, that is something I'll have to worry with too.

Major migraine today as well as some strange blank out moments that are either seizures or sleep deprivations. I somehow managed to send a picture of my dog sleeping in a weird position to the last 10 people I talked to on Messenger, including the City Hall for our small town, and then look up 'orange' among my contacts. Don't know how it happened.

No work out today, rest day, thank goodness, since this migraine is so bad.

I went to the doctor because I have had a bad sore pop up on my face. It is a little embarrassing. Did not get good news, I have shingles. OMG I hate this. I did get a prescription for it. It will take a few weeks to get rid of it and that is AFTER it scabs. Oh well, nothing I can do about it. Guess I will skip the gym because I don't want to spread it. Joyce emoticon I totally get you, I did that recently, dropped about half my teams, and may get off all of the 'official' Spark Teams because I rarely visit them. Wishing you the best!!

I am focusing on keeping up with Sparkmail, sending goodies to those who comment on my blogs (when I have time) and a few teams that I'm able to keep up with. I joined a 5% Fall Challenge, and it is more work than I thought it was going to be!! That and doing a Declutter Challenge with a Spark Friend (31 Days) I'm so busy! Though my house is (mostly) looking better, I think I need more than 31 Days to do it in! I may just redo the whole Declutter Challenge again in November in hopes I'll be able to finish everything.

Linda, if you are still depressed then the meds are not working right and you need to see your prescribing doctor and let them know. I also have depression, among other things. Going out west!! So happy for you! I LOVE NM!! That is where I'm originally from and we used to spend all our Summer's there! I do miss it, but I have grown so accustomed to trees, that if I stay out there too long (other than up in the mountains where some of my cousins live) I get homesick for trees!!

I'm still having a hard time with seizures and migraines. Having a migraine ups my chance of having a seizure by a lot. Had one yesterday. Was very.... tiring, confusing, all manner of things.

But I'm not going to let this get me down. I will get rid of this migraine and I will get to start all the things I'm starting on time!!

I am having some allergy problems today. ugh! I did get in a yoga workout. It's been a weird week for me. I am on anti depressants but still feel depressed. Not one thing, I guess a few issues. I am sure things will be fine...just one of those things. I go on vacation in about 12 days out west. I am sure that will be fun.

Hubby and I took a nice walk on the walking trail outdoors today. It was great weather. I enjoyed seeing geese and ducks on the lake. Great day.

Linda, I agree, I have not been able to work out more than walking in quite a while, and I'm starting the Blogilates Beginner Calendar 2.0 today!! I'll probably do it twice, just to get me in better shape before I tackle her daily/monthly stuff. My kids are going to do it too, in the evenings when they come home. My oldest wants to go for pep band and then next year marching band, so she needs to be in shape!! The march and hold their instruments up for hours at practice and right now she could not do that, both are as woefully out of shape as I am!!

Can't wait! I start at 0800!!! Already in my workout clothes, water ready, so I have no excuse!! Oh, and calendar printed too, so I can find the workouts in the basement where the thing to watch youtube is at. Just have to move the kids bean bags out of the way!!

Got back on track today, got in 34 ST and 32 Cardio and still need to take Kayla for a walk.

44 squats, 15 pushups and my arm/shoulder exercises 3 reps at 8 each.

Let depression get the better of me yesterday, plus my ADHD DD got so distracted it took her over 4 hours to get her homework done, and that was with me constantly bringing her back to focus on it. So we didn't work out. But I plan on changing that today. Even if we only do the cardio today and start the beginner calendar tomorrow, I need to get some form of workout in because it helps with depression.

Trying to get in my full amount of water and then some, because i was drinking more than my usual cup of coffee in the morning and am trying to wean myself back to just one cup a day.

Have not been sticking to my meal plan, but have promised myself to not only keep to it for the rest of the day, but to plan and stick to it for the rest of the month. And then keep going. It only takes either 28 or 30 days (don't remember which) to make a habit. So I'm working on making good ones!!

9/1 started doing 30 day challenge for pushups, squats and arm exercises, pushups and squats are done with a little moderation

9/1 - 5 set, 12 reps squats, 3 sets, 6 reps push-ups, arm exercises 3 sets 8 reps 5 lb wts.

This morning I went to the gym and got in a workout. It was one of those days when I just didn't have a lot of energy, I had a vertigo episode early. So I continued the exercise for close to an hour whether I wanted to or not.

Sounds like a wonderful way to get in some exercise!

I'm working on getting the exercise room super clean so that once DH is feeling better (he has the flu) he can start working out on his recumbent bike. I think he's used it like once, LOL. Between starting to come down sick (so far, I've managed to keep it mild by taking lots of vitamins and eating foods high in vitamins like bananas and oranges and taking cold and flu meds) and trying to catch up on cleaning, I've only been able to work out once. And I realized, there is no way I could do 100 anything. I downloaded Cassey's beginner 2.0 calendar and a yoga hip flow sequence to start out with, and the one day I was feeling good I tried to see how long I could go on the treadmill before starting to get tired. 15 minutes. I don't want to overdo it, and I think I could do 15 minutes on the treadmill and still have energy to do the workouts on Blogilates and the cooldowns and yoga. Everyone is starting to feel better, so we are taking the whole weekend off and starting on Monday.

I'm still having problems with insomnia, but my psychiatrist is working with me on it and we are trying to figure out what has thrown me off and gotten my insomnia so... worked up, lol.

Today hubby and I took a nice walk in the park. We hope to do the same tomorrow. Skipped the gym for the wonderful weather while it lasts. We went out to an early dinner. I enjoyed the meal although the calories were high. Have not eaten a anything else since. I really need to eat light tomorrow. In fact, I think we will have grilled salmon and salad.

Due to a severe migraine for the last several days, we weren't able to start yet emoticon , but we will be starting today, I'm feeling much better, the basement is clean, and we will have time after homework when the kids get home. I can't wait! I'm going to print out some yoga stretches for those muscles to do afterwards as well as a few times through the day so I don't get too stiff, one of my goals is also flexibility and I want to make sure the challenge doesn't' get in the way of that!

I am doing the 100 gluten challenge. Day one wasn't too bad but Cassie made up for it on day two and day three looks very challenging as well. I was not ble to do 100 fire hydrant kicks, I could only do 50 on each side and that was definitely hard! My hamstrings are so stiff and sore not sure how many reps I will be able to do on the hamstring curls with lift.

Praying!! I have type 2 Diabetes and recently injured my foot on a dog toy, it didn't even occur to me to be worried about it till my ODD spelled it out for me today. Felt like an idiot, I kept wondering why everyone was so worried about it!!

Haven't done the 100 Glute Challenge yet, we will in about an hour. Had to clean the basement. We do workouts like this in the entertainment room and the treadmill and bike and such are in the exercise room. The kids have been down there a lot and taking the dogs with them, and even though there are bells on the door, they didn't listen when the dogs needed to go... so the exercise room was/is filthy. It's sanitized now, but will take more mopping and scrubbing to get it really clean. The other room was littered with random stuff and my YDD had started piling her socks and such on top of the electronics!! Which were hot when I pulled the stuff off of it, she could have very easily burned the house down! I'm going to have DH explain this to her, even though I already did, because I don't think she took me seriously.

Will let you know how day 1 of the Challenge goes!!

Please pray for my SIL. He has diabetes 1 and in the hospital with an infection. He is an electrician and had an accident. We hope no surgery but he may have it within 24 hours. We plan to take a trip Monday through Friday depending on his condition.

Yay! I'm really looking forward to it! My two girls are going to do it with me, a teen and preteen. I told them they don't have to do the full 100, I probably won't be able to! But try your best and do what you can and we will pause the video for breaks whenever we need to!

I got an off brand Bosu Ball finally! DH kept telling me to wait, wait, wait, so I finally just got it! I need to work on my core and especially balance and this was recommended, so I'm cleaning the work out room today so it will be ready to start on August 4th for the glute challenge!!

I got in over 10K steps the other day!! First time in a long time I've done that! Boy am I sore, I didn't stretch enough after our walk! We walked to a breakfast place, with bags in hand and went to the grocery store and then the dollar store that was next to it. We got some freggies and some school supplies... more school supplies than I intended for a walking trip, it was quite the arm work out getting everything home!!

I finally found my DD214 (form showing I was honorably discharged from the military) so I can get my veterans driver's license finally. Yay!. I've been meaning to update my license for a while now but could not find my DD214 since we moved. You don't want to know what hoops I would have had to jump through to get a new one of those!!

Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend! I'm slowly progressing back to health, and though I still feel feverish at times and am exhausted, I am chomping at the bit to get to where I can work out! For now I'm taking nice hot baths and stretching while in them, it eases the aches and pains. I'm trying to remember to keep stretching throughout the day, I should probably put reminders on my phone because I keep forgetting!!

I did have such a problem getting to sleep. However, slept well once I did. Have a throbbing sinus headache which has been with me all day. I have only gotten in a short workout.

Just stopping by to check in, Karri I hope you have a great vacation, I understand about in-laws and parents that want us to do as they wish, they forget we are adults. I am sure you and DH will handle it well. Do recharge and relax. Hugs.

All is well here, Don's treatments are going well, his last blood test his white cells are up to min, his red cells are low but not as bad and his creatine levels are still high (that's for kidneys, not sure if I spelled it right.) but it isn't a change from the last test so that is good. We get the test results before the Dr calls so hoping I am interpreting them correctly.

Suddenly really not looking forward to the vacation. Apparently MIL has PLANS, so much for relaxing!! I don't want to butt head or hurt her feelings, but I just can't handle being dragged all over the place, I need an actual vacation to rest and recharge. DH feels the same way. I will do some of the stuff, but I'm 40 years old, and not about to be pushed around just because she threatens to throw a tantrum if things don't go her way. She is something else, I tell ya!

Found out that SIL's girlfriend is going as well. She is the perfect example of the below pic (hope it comes through okay!):

DH is talking to FIL about it too, he doesn't want to be dragged all over creation either. He needs to rest and recharge, he didn't get his usual vacation in May (company trip to Seattle WA). I'm having serious health issue come up, having seizure again and having some other complications with other chronic illnesses I have. I need rest.

Oh well, I'm not going to budge this time around, I don't care if she throws a tantrum, the woman is over 60 and should grow up! That may sound rude of me, and I really don't mean it to be, I'm just tired and feeling like I'm letting her push me around to much, and it has to stop. She does it to her kids, and they usually give in, and so I did too, but I'm really tired of it. I'm just going to do my best to enjoy the time we are there!

Today hubby and I took a walk after doing some shopping and errands. It was such a not day so the walk was hot as long as I would have liked.

Hope everyone had a great Independence Day!!

I'm mostly working out by cleaning and packing for vacation. MIL plans on lots of hiking so I'm getting out my camelbaks and taking them. I think that will be my workouts while we are gone, except, of course, daily stretching!!

We had a great reunion, yesterday started working to get back on track. My goal this month is to do the 21 day arm challenge (again), my arms need all the help they can get, plus I never actually completed the full challenge.

Yesterday did 3 sets, 8 reps, 3 lb weights, today is rest day. Will do again tomorrow. Working their schedule.

Have fun at your family reunion!!

Today I'll be working on the craft room and laundry. I am very close to telling DH to do his own laundry. He wants every thing hung up right away and several other things that I just don't have time for. I understand the need for work shirts to be hung up so they don't wrinkle, but right now there is an AC in the way to the closet and i can barely get over it (from when our AC unit went out and we brought the window unit up from the basement). Lots to do, but I'm making a list and prioritizing it, as I was recently taught to do. That way the important stuff gets done and all the other stuff gets done as I have time.

Thanks for the article! Glad you are feeling better!

We managed to get the kitchen almost done, now just have to catch up on dirty dishes and keep it that way!!

Was going to clean out the pantry today, but the dirty dishes are in the way, so going to work on laundry and the craft area. Still not feeling well, was up and down all night, migraine and aching, sore muscles. I feel like I did some really heavy workouts for a week and didn't stretch at all. All my muscles are tense and tender. I'm wondering if it is the new mattress. It is comfy enough feeling, but it is the only change I can think of that could be doing this. I woke up at midnight because in my sleep I was rubbing my sore neck and the pain woke me up! So, gotta take time to do a couple of really good stretching sessions today.

Joyce, glad you got to feeling a little better!

Today will be a heavy cleaning day for me and the kiddos. We plan our week out on Sunday's after church. We have certain things we do every week, since I can't drive, to make our week more fun, like water day outside for the dogs to play in the small pool I got them (and get a bath), cooking/baking day for the kids to learn how to cook and bake, so far they have done wonderful! water day is also pamper day, as no one wants to smell like wet dog, so we take nice warm baths and do face masks and all kinds of fun, relaxing stuff. I also have my daily do-it's that I work on in the morning, what needs to be done, and last week was major cleaning the kitchen, but thanks to migraines and all kinds of stuff, it didn't get done. So that is what we are going to do today. With lots of breaks to have fun together, but not too much so that we actually get it done. We are going to clean, declutter, and then organize. I want to get out my aerogarden and start growing my own herbs again, but right now there is no room for it. Lots of decluttering and reorganizing to do.

Feeling much better, have a mild migraine starting, but will take meds and lay down if it gets even the tiniest bit worse. I want to work out, get the kids working out, and get lots of stretches in!

Good evening all, yesterday about the middle of the afternoon I got so sick, my whole body hurt, my right arm hurt, and I was so tired, I took a hot shower, some aleve, and flu medicine (in case), and cat napped the rest of the day. Today I felt much better, I got a good nights sleep, did go to church but took it easy today too, just walked. Hubby thinks I may have over done it on Friday when I did some heavy duty cleaning. But glad I am feeling better, Hope you all had a great day filled with many blessing.

If the first day of Summer was any indication, it is going to be oh so very hot here!! it got up to over 96 here (was that when I looked, but the graph showed it had been hotter, but would not show me how much) saying it felt like 106!!! So glad that it is supposed to rain off and on for the next week and be much cooler, upper 80's. May not get in the walking I wanted to do, but, is better than not being able to go out much at all!!

SP is being super slow this morning, but then it could be from the huge storm we had last night. Something crashed, a big crash, last night. DH and I checked the whole house, but could find nothing, all that is left is to check the roof and pray it was not that. Hopefully it was something outside, not on the house!!

Looking for a whole body stretching routine. I feel like I've been beat up. I wake up that way. I think it is the new mattress. It is a memory foam mattress and may be comfy feeling, but I didn't wake up like this before! Not sure what it really is, could just be part of getting older! But I feel like a total body stretching routine that I can do first thing in the morning to un-kink my body could really help!!
