Hi Mackenzie, hi Kelly! Hope everyone is doing well. Went to the Hendersonville Farmer's Market this morning. Bigger this year than the last time I went. I got quite a bit and then went to Publix and got quite a bit! Haha, now I have to eat all of this food. We got a Ninji Foodi Grill/Air Fryer yesterday - haven't tried it yet but probably will today. I think DH will want to start with burgers. I'd prefer something a bit healthier but will go with it. I am excited about the air fryer, I am going to throw all of those veggies in there! It's definitely hot but I am enjoying this lower humidity! Have a great weekend y'all!!!

Welcome MacKenzie, come by often.

I've lived in the same states as you plus many more. I'm still here because I like it and too lazy to move.

Muggy day ahead again, yesterday at 8a it was like a sauna. About to head back to the pool in awhile.

Everyone enjoy Wednesday, Wednesday already?

Hello all; I'm new here, I just moved to Clarksville, TN a couple of years ago; I originally am from NY but I lived in WA a brief time and then for a long time in FL, but I feel I've really found my home in TN. Glad to have found this group :o)

Independence day!!! I hope everyone has a great day! Obviously it is looking a little different for most of us but still, I am enjoying it! I think hubby is cranky because he can't have his big party but we will still enjoy the day...maybe put some burgers on our grill.

Lizzie is definitely a hot mess but she is just adorable and fun!

The fawns are precious. I worry about them though, don't want them to be hit by a car!!!

We've been to Lowe's for some birdseed. I am thinking about going to the one in Madison to get some new cushions for the patio chairs.

Happy Fourth of July!!!

Kyle's in laws had not just one momma deer with twins show up but TWO yesterday!!! They are all growing so fast.

It's good that you can break up your work schedule, I am sure you don't miss the chaos of the office though. Pace yourself and enjoy. Loving your stories of Lizzie, she reminds me of our Mollie (she was a tuxedo too) but a whole lot lazier.

I think even DC cancelled their fireworks but are still doing the music. NYC is supposed to have theirs, hope so.

I didn't go to our farmers market yesterday, just wasn't feeling it.

Quiet here and have nothing planned. Enjoy your weekend everyone!

Happy Friday! We are "off" today but you know what means for an accountant - being that we are doing month end closing. At least I can do it more at my leisure, as long as I get the work done, who cares when I do it. I am going to try to finish up a bunch of stuff by early afternoon so I can play the rest of the day and then I will do the same thing tomorrow and Sunday so maybe I can break it up a bit. I am worried though that if I don't get enough done I will be working all day Sunday, yuck. At least we got to fix a nice breakfast this morning rather than the quick stuff that we usually fix ourselves during the week!

I haven't been to our Farmer's Market, maybe I should check that out. I doubt anyone at ours is wearing masks, no one around here seems to be doing so. They canceled the Hendersonville fireworks, of course people are livid.

Hope all is well, take care and be safe!!

I am beginning to think my puter issues are to the battery, but of course mine is nearly 10 if not older and not used as much as yours. Now you will have a new toy to play with and I hope it meets your furrbabes standards. Your Lizzy is too danged cute, saw the video of her with your shoe and to think she took your sock!!!

I'm surprised Mikes are not wearing masks especially when that busy, were the customers following the distance and not carrying on conversations? Our farmers market is finally open, not as many vendors and folks try to keep their distance but it is hard. They required masks and asked that you not manhandle items.

Nothing new here either. Getting some beautiful sunsets with the saharandust the past few nights.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend

Happy Saturday! Just got back from my run and enjoying the patio. Despite the humidity, that is a very nice breeze that is happening. Not much going on up here, heard that Davidson is now going to be required to wear a mask if in public. Heard that TN is pretty much the lowest in the country for mask wearing at about 15% of people wearing them. Hubby went to Jersey Mike's to get a sandwich and the line was long and no one was wearing a mask, and he didn't either. UGH, that didn't make me too happy. I'm getting a new work PC today. The IT guy from work said maybe the battery is going bad on the old one. Of course they can't tell for sure without looking. They shipped me one. I was due for a new one anyway. Hope everyone is doing well and staying safe and healthy!

Yikes it is muggy today.

We got no rain Thursday. You gals must have been beyond drenched by the time you got to your cars, I can't imagine being that wet and having to drive. Wait, I think I've been in that boat but didn't have to go that far.

Hope you all had a great day yesterday. Nothing exciting on this end.

I did have a good pool workout this morning, tired as I was (sleep deprived for some reason) that surprised me. Guess I am used to being alone and challenging myself.

Have a great week, Gloria are you still able to work from home?

Happy Summer Solstice! It's a hot but pretty day. I wonder if we might get some pop up showers. Thursday I went to Nashville to walk with some friends (social distancing of course) and we were on a greenway when it started to thunderstorm! Yikes, that was unexpected! We were out there and couldn't really do anything about it except go back to our cars, which were about a mile and half away!

Today is Flag Day.

I am your Flag

I have been kicked, trampled, burned and shot full of holes.
I have fought battles, but I prefer the untroubled air of a world at peace.
I am your Flag.
I represent the freedom of humanity, and I shall fly high, thundering in silence for the whole world to hear.
My gentle rustling in the breeze sounds out the warning to all who would bury me forever that below stands a population dedicated to liberty.
For those who have perished for my right to freedom of flight, for those who will die, and indeed, for those who will live, I stand as a symbol of freedom-loving people.
I have been carried into battle in faraway lands, always for the cause of freedom.
I am bloodstained, torn and many times wearied and saddened by the thousands who have paid the supreme sacrifice.
Do not let it all be for nothing.
Tell me the brave have all died for a worthwhile cause.
Be proud of what I represent, and display me for all to see.
Whether you call me “Old Glory”, Stars and Stripes” or “Star Spangled Banner”, I shall fly forever as a symbol of your freedom, as I did for your ancestors, and as I shall for your heirs.
I am YOUR Flag.

I hear you on the sun thing, we all need natural vitaD though. (My opinion) I don't burn but if I am in the water, after 10-15 min I go to the indoor one rather than wait 15+ min out of the sun. If that is not the option I just sunscreen and get vitaD some other way. Speaking of which, my grand nephew is in town visiting Kyle's family. We got together last night, great food, wine and lotsa belly laffs then this morning headed over to Tupelo Honey whatever on the patio, in Cool Springs for breakfast. Since I had to borrow a phone because that was where their menu was I did not look to see what other options they had. (I think though they would have found a way to feed me if I were alone, hope so at least) I had pumpkin pancakes (way too many so much of it is for dinner tonight and a snack tomorrow) with very naturally sweet blueberry compost (I added bacon, first in over a month) Yes, I am pacing myself on the carbs, likely would be in a coma otherwise haha. Dinner then a snack after the pool tomorrow.

You all are so lucky to have so much wildlife around you. Over development has destroyed our area. West of Bell is still for the most part safe, that is where most of them have relocated.

Well, have a good week everyone looking in, enjoy your pool and telecommuting Gloria.

Beautiful weather!!! I did get in the pool some last weekend, just trying to be careful not to linger too long - don't want to get burned but once we get going with the season I will tan and I don't condone tanning either, still not good for our skin, but at least then I won't worry so much about burning. I will go out there and play later. Fawn in the yard today with it's mama, so sweet. The foxes seem to have disappeared for now. Have a great Saturday, get out and enjoy this glorious weather!!!!

Looks like a dry weekend and lower temps finally.

Gosh the wind Wednesday night was so strong it nearly blew the margarita and wine glasses over while we were on deck for mayhem Wednesday.

Everyone enjoy your weekend!

All in all, fairly decent weather this weekend...then again I wasn't out for long periods so who knows. Were you in the pool at all?

Our daughter in law's parents or neighbor had the cutest visitor, a nearly newborn fawn come up to him and looked like it nudged his knee that is how close she was to him, barely standing and not even to his knee. Guess it is time to put out driving awareness reminders. They grow so fast that it won't be long before they are roadside.

Well, have a great week.

I hope everyone is warm enough hahaha. I guess summer is HERE! Maybe some less humid weather will happen later next week.

Kelly, we had a bunny on our porch. Baby. It was sweet.

Yep, definitely hoping for a better June and a better rest of the year. It's been a wild ride and I am still kind of in disbelief!!

Geez, summer is going to make an extended visit this week. Your pool will be toasty in no time Gloria.

With more folks being out and about I am less likely to be out in it, so I understand. Maybe go early in day?

Enjoying the pool. Saturday I pulled out the peddlar and did a 5k while watching the pre and launch Saturday. My friends the bunny and chipmunk visited the other day. Didn't look to see if bunny had a litter under the deck again. Other than that, nothing going on here.

Welcome June, all we can do is hope it is better.

I was sitting on the patio this morning and all of the sudden the fox took off from somewhere (had to be very near) and ran along the side of the pool to the back yard and under some bushes. Not sure how the bunnies and foxes are working things out right now, as of last night I still had a bunny in the yard. Maybe not now. I don't like that at all but foxes gotta eat too. Seems like every night we've had these pop up storms and it's always when I want to go walk or run. Today maybe some more rain then I think less humid for a couple of days and won't that feel wonderful! It will probably be too cool for me to get in the pool this weekend but I will certainly get outdoors!

Adding that I want to go to Fresh Market this weekend but I am still leery about this whole social distancing thing so I am just not sure.

Let us remember our sons and daughters wherever they are - doing what they have chosen to do for our country; up to and including a blank check for their lives.

In Remembrance of Jerry. Hugs

Saw your pictures of your Disney reunion gathering, looks like everyone had a great time!

Michelle's folks used to likely still do have foxes that seem to think their cul de sac belongs to them so I imagine you have a family. Probably scared the fox more haha.

Out of the blue literally, a tstorm opened up right over us for awhile about an hour ago. I was getting ready to fire up the weber, didn't think to look up and check the sky.

Nothing else around here, see ya later!

Today thinking about those who died in the service of our country...especially I remember my cousins' stepbrother Jerry, who we grew up with. He was a major in the marines and died in service while in Baghdad in 2005.

Hot again today, wonder if we will have the storms like we did yesterday...it wasn't too bad here, not even a lot of rain.

Oh, we seem to have a fox...hubby went out to look at our peonies and he looked up and not 10 feet away was a fox looking at him. It ran away as soon as my hubby looked at him. I suspect babies might be nearby.

Happy summer! Hubby turned the AC on finally. I thought it would be nice to not turn it on at all until June but it looks like the heat is probably here to stay. My family is not too close to the flooding Kelly, thanks for asking! I do have friends that are near. One (from high school) is doing fine, another (my college roommate) said that they were fine but the worst was yet to come and they live near the river - haven't heard from her in a couple of days so I am worried. Saw some of pictures of it, goodness, much worse than our flooding in 2010 and quite terrifying to see.

Went south to Brentwood today and met up with my Princess friends (the girls I went to Disney World with in February to do the Princess Half Marathon/Fairy Tale Challenge). We walked about six miles in River Park. We wore our Princess race shirts and our tiaras. We saw a few other people we knew walking or running in there. They have such nice trails and greenways down there. Then we ran over to Nolensville to a local coffee shop - only their drive thru is open so we each ordered our food and found a nice place to sit and chat. That was fun. Afterwards into the pool for a while. Hubby encourages me to stay out in the water for hours but I have to be attentive to the sun so I don't burn!

Agreed on the weather, today isn't as hot as yesterday or at least not in the house, haven't been out since early this morning.

Brave for doing the Gallatin Main route, any time of the day. Bet you had many critters watching as you ran your area though. Congrats on doing it.

Nothing exciting over here, too many folks have discovered all my fav spots along the lake so twiddling my thumbs at home. Guess I'll move out to the porch in a bit grab some more vitaD.

Kind of muggy today too, I guess we have had such beautiful weather we just aren't used to it! The relay was fun! Since it was "virtual" we just made up our own routes and went where ever we wanted. Yesterday in the morning I just made a route around my neighborhood (down past Rock Castle) and last night I went to the park and ran on the greenway. I was a little worried the greenway would be too busy but it wasn't. This morning I parked down by the Indian Lake Starbucks and I ran down Indian Lake to Gallatin/Main and then down Gallatin/Main for a while. Then turned around. A lot of us had the same idea as far as routes, I went this morning to Starbucks and there were a bunch of other runners there.

Gloria, I was awake at 0dark thirty and thought about keeping you company on your relay but the brain fog from not going to bed until midnight suggested I might not be such good company. I know, it is rare for me to not be up at that hour, I think it was because I stayed up later than usual. Please share some of it with us, where all you went to make it 200 miles. One of these days I will remember to volunteer for Ragnar, I know many of the ham operators that volunteer and have a blast.

Yesterday felt more like a swamp even with it being overcast.

Enjoy your Sunday everyone!

Oh my gosh, puppy WHY?!!! But our cats do the same type of thing. So I get it, and I get not having time! I need to do a lot of housework! And organizing. And all of that. I need to remember to order some lamps today for the living room. Either that or I need to get ambitious and buy some new switches and fix these.

Watched the clip from the Today show, that is soooo cool!!! Representing Gallatin and Sumner County. Love it!

Oh Kelly, I did not hear about those two students. How dreadful and sad.

So this weekend I am doing a 200 mile relay...virtually! Kind of like Ragnar but virtual, from home instead of on vans. There are (I think) seven teams of 12 doing this all around Hendersonville (and a few I know of that are elsewhere, one in Florida, one in Wisconsin and one in Iowa). I did my first leg of three this morning at 6 am, will do leg two around 6 pm and then last leg for me will be at 4 am. I've got a great team! Kind of different doing it virtually.

Hope everyone has a nice weekend, it's gonna be toasty and I might head out to the pool later!

Well Heather, you didn't make the cut but were acknowledged!!! What fun and great mood lifter.

What is your doctorial? And what grades do you teach?

I honestly did not realize how isolated things are until a bunch of us got together a couple of weeks ago. When I got to our son's, I hit the door talking a mile a minute the kid wanted to know how over caffeinated am I (hadn't had coffee in hours).

I am sure you all heard about the tragic car accident that took the lives of two McGavock High students. The kids have set up a memorial area for others to drop by; either leave mementos, drop a note or sign their name for the graduation drive by tomorrow. One of the students is a senior and the other a brother of a senior. Seems strange to say was.

Ahhh the fourlegger interior decorators! We had a cat AND a dog that felt it was their duty to pull carpet, the cat was the instigator. My knees and back hurt just thinking of that job.

It is FriYaY, enjoy the sunshine and go find some mischief!

Happy Friday, ladies! Busy week over here. I started a new semester of doctoral work and actually worked at school two days collecting materials/books from the kids (I basically sat in my room and worked and went to the office every once in awhile when my department had a stack). I'd been in the building a couple of times over the past two months, but this was the first time sitting at my desk and seeing co-workers. It was so good to talk to them, even if it was from way across the room.

Yesterday several of us got to school at 6am to be part of The Today Show's Virtual Plaza! We weren't chosen for Hoda and Craig to talk to on full screen, but we had a blast showing our school spirit and being sorta close to each other for the first time in so long.

https://www.today.com/video/today-s-virt
ual-plaza-visitors-retiring-teacher-21
st-birthday-83452997589

And I finished the day my pulling up carpet in my craft room. The dog started it back in August, and I'm just not getting around to dealing with it. THAT was a work out!

Have a wonderful weekend, everyone.

Happy Wednesday, honestly can't believe it is already Wednesday, these weeks just fly by. Heather, the caterer food and food you added all sounds delicious! We do the same thing you did, if we get a lot of food, we just split it in to multiple meals.

Oh Kelly, I bet that filet was great, better than dogs or burgers! Sounds like you had a lot of fun down at Kyle's. Glad you were able to see Hope.

Rainy but not too bad out, I think the HOT days of summer are nearly upon us. I have a Kroger pickup later and already got the news that some stuff on my list is not available. Don't want to have to go inside Publix so will try to do without for now. Grocery shopping has become so much more complicated!

Enjoyed Kyle's, sooo much laughter. He fired up his brand new grill, grilled corn on the cob and filet mignon; I would have been happy with hot dogs or burgers. Hope is home and finished most of her finals, she is going to try chemistry for the summer session; that is something I can't imagine working outside a class room. Grant is staying at UVa but will join the family in FL for vacation not sure if he will be here before going back. I thought about going with them but then our daughter will be upset that I am a few hours away and not coming in to see them. (They have a house full including a 6 month old grandchild) They keep after me because I still haven't committed to building there and becoming a snowbird.

I would say your dinner was a good choice Atkins, and you had a great but busy weekend. Bet it made your Mom happy to see you two.

My mother in law finally got to meet the newest addition to the family, her great grandson, in NY. She will be 101 on the 22nd, she was but a toddler with the Spanish flu. Seems strange to not being up there this year.

Didn't seem as windy today as yesterday, I took the back way home so it was a nice drive especially since there isn't much traffic. I am still wrapping my head around the fact that part of Brentwood is in Williamson county.

Well, I wish I had some left over filet for dinner...bet the kids wish it too. We inhaled it yesterday. Everyone enjoy the rest of the day and have a good one tomorrow!

That coyote picture was from my neighbor across the street! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend! I was out Saturday more than I have been in 2 months--picked up take out for Mother's Day lunch (more on that), dropped a book off at my sister's and ending up chatting for an hour, went to see my mom and give her her gift, and grocery. Yesterday I picked up my girl from her dad's cooked lunch, watched church, walked the greenway, and watched my pick of movies (Pride and Prejudice--I'm introducing her to Austen). She also conspired with my parents (I assume--no one will say) to have some gifts delivered. :)

A caterer friend has been doing curbside dinners since she's not doing events right now, so I ordered from her for our lunch yesterday. It's a ton of food, and she only offers 2 entrees a week, so it doesn't always work for our small family, but it's soooo good! This weekend she had beef tenderloin (we also got a strawberry pretzel salad; I made roasted potatoes and green beans myself). It's the best beef I've ever had. $20 for three huge pieces--we split one for lunch, she had half of another for dinner, I had half on a salad for lunch, still have another piece...just a really good value. It's ready to reheat with instructions on the container, and we didn't have to wait anywhere.

I'm done with my last meeting and most of my grading, and really want to be outside, but the sunshine is deceptive--it's cold! Maybe I'll get out soon. Hope you all have a great Monday!

Good Morning and Happy Mother's Day! Yes it is gorgeous out, I am working but will get out later to walk or run. Fixed some breakfast for hubby this morning, I think I will just do baked potatoes for the evening meal as I just don't have time for complexity. Ah, the mayor walks, that seems so long ago. Everything seems so long ago. Feels like a different world. Kyle would not like my house, disaster city! We try to keep it up and do a fair job but just not enough hours in the day! Enjoy your visit with Kyle, are the grandkids home?

Another beautiful day today!!! I am having a hard time making myself get at anything early, especially out of my jammies. OY if the Marriott can't open their pool soon my joints are going to really really disown me. Of course I can't blame the pool, I have gotten beyond lazy.

Your area is abundant with critters, deer and foxes that is for sure Gloria. Ours isn't so much like that anymore. sigh. We didn't have that many fox though for some reason.

Looks like a nice dinner and especially nice day for a drive. I think more folks are getting back to exploring what is around us. I remember when we were doing the Mayor walks how much I enjoyed seeing other parts of the county.

Headed down to Kyle's for dinner and will stay over. Finally got him over to replace light bulbs yesterday and of course the house did not pass white glove. Three rotations in the sand box has made him a neat freak, I had some dust on the ceiling fan (just one of them) and my office looks like it's been through a wind tunnel...did it on purpose. I told him it clean when he was supposed to come over when ever that was. haha

Everyone, enjoy the day. I tell our daughter that you don't have to give birth to be a Mom.

It is just BEAUTIFUL out today! Hot weather coming up for next weekend. I am gonna have to get my behind up earlier next weekend and do my runs earlier. I am not doing a good job at early runs. I like to piddle around too much haha!

We have a lot of foxes around here, a lot. Never saw many foxes at all, maybe two in my whole life, until we moved to this peninsula. They are everywhere here - along with all of the other critters. I love foxes but I don't want them to bother my yard bunnies. Of course they have to eat too.

We ran to White House today and got Colorado Grill. Love their food. What an indulgence but I have some leftovers for later. I never eat a whole steak, too much for me. And veggies left to eat with it. Yum, asparagus and broccoli. Then we got Greyson's cat food. Only place in Hendersonville to get it is a local place call Ma & Paw's. Can't get it online either. They are only doing curbside so far. Fine with us. Then we went to Black Press for my coconut latte - love their coconut lattes with oat milk but when I went in the store I was the only customer, except right behind me came a horde of people and that place is tiny so no social distancing there. To each his own but it made me feel kind of uncomfortable.

Hope everyone has a great weekend! Happy Mother's Day!!

Geez who invited the Yanks to spring????

I think this is the birthing season for coyotes and fox so yes be aware with your small pets although fox are more docile under normal circumstances.

Thinking of pulling out my flannel jammies. I was going to run over to Opry to grab take out but think I'll pass and make do with what is in the fridge and pantry.

Hopefully tomorrow will be better weather, happy FriYaY.

Stay well!

Good Morning and Happy Friday!

I saw a pic of that coyote on Hip Gallatin. Whoa! I am not really afraid of coyotes but they will definitely go after small animals so watch out for little pets.

Rainy and cold today, a little flash of winter is here. Maybe a frost tonight?

All we did for Cinco was get some carry out from La Loma, which is a local joint. I think we could have eaten there, hubby went in to pick it up and said that only two other tables were there. But who knew.

Yep! That was my Uncle Frank! Literally, everyone knew him.

I was boring for Cinco de Mayo--Chili's fajitas delivered. I figured it was faster than actual Mexican, and they had something the kiddo wanted, as well. The only excitement was discovering a picture the neighbor across the street (whom I just met Sunday while surveying storm damage) posted a picture of a coyote hanging out in her front yard. We live in the historic district, and this was at 4 in the afternoon. Super scary.

WOW this is the first margarita I have had in a very long time...glad I am not on the road because it is strong especially for a premix but worth every penny. Sun is out, going to head out for some fresh air.

Your Uncle was Frank!!! Hard to believe it has been three years already, hugs. I am not directly involved with HipD but was active with their Pets group, now it is with my wallet. WOW it is a really really small world.

I hear you about folks not showing up, been there myself. I had a large tree in front (put in by the builder) taken down because it was splitting. I have a few tall trees really close to the house in back but they are not oak and look pretty sturdy so will let them be for now. You'd think that for that amount of money they'd show up.

That sounded like a fun gathering. Good for you getting those miles in. Seems to me I've heard of the Lincoya Cafe, betcha Gloria knows about it.

Happy Cinco de Margarita. Got nothing planned, will pick up to go from our usual Mexican place that you could find us on Wednesday's. We have been tempted to sit out on their patio but that might get them in trouble.

Our church small group has been meeting over Zoom, and we had just logged in when the power went out; so we switched to my phone and rode out the storm playing LINKEE with friends scattered at our various houses! Fortunately our power was only out for a couple of hours. Some neighbors lost large limbs that made the street impassable, but no damage. I have eight 50' tall trees in my tiny back yard that make me a nervous wreck every time it storms. I finally decided to spend the $$$$ and have them all cut down ($12,000--it hurts!), but two have been no shows and one I've been "on the schedule" since February.

My dad grew up in the Lincoya Hills neighborhood in Donelson. One of my uncles has opened a restaurant in Hendersonville named Lyncoya Cafe. The name is partly an homage to where they lived. Another of my uncles started HIP Donelson and the Farmers Market and was known by just about everyone in town, but unfortunately died about three years ago.

Yesterday I got back to my neighborhood walks and got 3 miles in. Hopefully I'll get another few miles logged before more rain comes today.

Whoa, more crazy weather last night, the derecho on Sunday and the wake low last night....that WIND! I thought last night was even worse, the wind was HOWLING! My husband had big headphones on, the noise blocking kind and even he could hear the wind. Of course those kind of storms are even more freaky because they kind of happen after the storm line has passed. Hope everyone still has power. Ours went out for a while but came back on thank goodness. I can't imagine what people are dealing with right now with the food in the freezers and being told that they might now have power for a week or more and knowing that many of the stores are limiting how much meat can't be purchased. And it is going to get downright chilly later this week! Anyway, did my run last night, did my Kroger pick up, got it all done, somehow!

BNA had gusts over 70, certain areas of D'son had extensive tree damage therefore power lines down. We are fine here. It's going to take awhile because they have to have smaller crews working together, yes it is their largest outage. I'm just glad nothing blew off our house AGAIN.

I heard maybe tonight possibly a replay of yesterday's storm. Hope not.

I saw a picture of a car the other day. On the window it said Teachers! You lied when you said my child was a delight to have in class. We can only hope that maybe some of these parents who think their little Susie can do no wrong realizes that the problem starts at home. Nah, doubt it sadly. I tutor at an elementary school, luckily those kids are great but you see the disrespect even 2nd graders show toward teachers.

Oh and my daughter, smart alec that she is, said this stay at home is nothing because they were grounded at lot as kids.

Everyone stay safe and healthy.

Hope everyone is doing okay! We do have power here but one of my friends from work lives in Donelson and she had to go to the office because no electricity. Heard it was one of NES's largest outages ever, and very widespread, not confined to certain areas like a tornado would be.

Supposed to get downright cool later this week. I've good with it. Keep this beautiful spring weather coming, the heat will be here soon enough.

WOW it is a small world Atkins! Our granddaughter went to Station Camp HS the first year they moved back to TN then transferred to John Paul for her senior year. Where in Donelson did your Dad live?

I can only imagine how you all feel about prom, especially since you are so closely tied to it. Good for you for not raiding the pantry!

How'd you all fare with the storms awhile ago today? We are okay, some areas are without power. Finally, folks on the water are finally taking the weather warnings seriously. Someone posted on whatever channel pictures of them coming ashore.

Got nothing else, thought I'd stop by and I hope you make the Town Square a regular spot Adkins. Is there another name, we've been known to make things up. That was back in the day when there was a lot of mischief going on here, along with mucho support.

Small world--though I live in Gallatin (moved here 4 years ago when I divorced; I've taught at the high school for 18). most of my life is in Hendersonville. We go to church there, my daughter's school is there, her activities are there, my sister and her family live there. AND, my dad grew up in Donelson.

Yesterday was a hard day. I was supposed to be our prom, and I co-chair the event. This one was to be particularly specialy because it was to be my co-chair's last one (her daughter is graduating and she is stepping down) I'm taking over next year. We put A LOT into planning this night for our kids, and it hurt to not be able to give it to them. But, I didn't eat my emotions! It turned out to be a nice night.

Good Morning and Happy Friday! Yep, Hendersonville here. I've been on SparkPeople since 2007. That seems crazy. A lot of my friends are on different ones (such as My Fitness Pal), but I have always liked SP because of the social community.

I didn't know it was going to be so hot - just checked the weather - hello summer! I'll be okay with that. I am going to sit outside this weekend. Will have to work too but I don't think too much.

Have a great weekend!!!

Welcome Heather!!! We are all trying to avoid the covid15 so feel free to jump in here often and invite your friends. As you can see, Gloria and I have been pretty much keeping the dialog going on our own so we welcome new ideas. Batch cooking has always been a good tool for me, good habits are hard to get back aren't they? It looks like you've got a good start though. Where do you teach? Feel free to look through the topics, etc and revive any of them or start a new topic.

Gloria lives in Hendersonville. My son and daughter in law moved a few months ago from Gallatin to Williamson County. I live in Donelson.

Gloria I'm laughing at organizing because I start on one spot then find myself somewhere else making a bigger mess. I've got stuff for AmVets to pick up if I could just get them to do it, that would clear a lot of space. And no one is doing shred days so that is another pile that I guess I'll have to break down, crank up my shredder and do it myself.

I'd treat myself to Chop House too.

Well, here it is May already!!! It will certainly feel like summer over the weekend, pace yourselves while out and make sure you have your water bottle with ya! Stay well...

Hi, all. I'm Heather. I live and teach in Gallatin. Some colleagues and I started a a facebook accountability group to help us not eat our way through quarantine, and everyone has their own plan. I decided to go back to what I know works for me: Sparkpeople. Time to think about meals and cook (or mindfully order takeout) and what has become my daily neighborhood walk are helping, too! I'm trying to make these habits.

I am kind of enjoying this spring weather, seems like we are having a real spring instead of just from super cold to super hot all at once. I took today off but will have to work for a little bit later, I have a meeting with my manager. I went to Publix, in person. I wore a mask and ran into a friend who didn't recognize me, yikes. I don't really like that. Still no paper products, got most of what I wanted though and everything that I needed. I've been working on some organizing and stuff, but it never ends, haha, I need to carry on with that. I piddle around a lot, it is so relaxing to me to do that, getting stuff done but slowly at my own pace. We did pick up at the Chop House last night, that was a treat.

I happy to see ole man winter realized he was not a welcome visitor yesterday! Really, weird weather for these parts. Although I remember being in Santa Fe late April on Easter Sunday and it snowed overnight. Of course it was gone long before noon but still it was a lot of fun I think everyone at the hotel was out in it.

Good for you scoring that stuff. It is crazy how it is still so hard to find, beef around here is in short supply and even many canned goods. Our son had a Keurig, I felt guilty using it because those pods are so expensive and I drink more than one cup, just because it is hot and not looking for a rush guess it is more a habit. I'm that way with tea too. Now they have a fancy coffee maker that I am afraid of breaking. Folgers has another blend that is good but can't remember it's name.

Have a great week, don't have to tell you to get on out and grab some vitaD. Time to pull out the peddlar!

Just heard a bunch of thunder! Glad I got out early and ran. Can't believe this weekend should be Country Music Half/Full marathon. Our Kroger is doing better on pick up, not so long to wait these days, and it seems like things are getting better as far as stock. I still can't find a few things. Scored that tiny bottle of hand sanitizer at Target and haven't found any more since, I would like another bottle. But did get a canister of wipes at Target. Hubby has a Keurig - we do have an actual coffee maker but he won't use it! I buy bags of coffee for it but he keeps using the Keurig. So I did get his coffee last week when I picked up at Kroger and now I know I can get the pods at Amazon too. I ended up getting myself some Folger's breakfast blend, really liking that!

Oh my, honestly thought I actually did more than look in the other day.

I almost had Taziki's last night, didn't feel like going over there but it is on the list to go soon. For sure now that they have the Cupcake Collection, will try the sweet potato! Today is Taco Tues on Wednesday so I'm on my way over for that. Having a salad this time and remembered to tell them no chips. They always give a huge bag of them and it kills me to through most of them out, they are so good but not everyday good.

Around here getting Krogers pickup is a many day wait and I am not paying for delivery for so few items. Lots of luck on coffee. I have been buying ground coffee at Dunkin Donuts for years, they sell it in 1 lb bags.

Looks like rain is on the way, so dark out for being 6. Other than that really great weather.

Take care!!!

Sure is pretty out today, albeit a bit chilly! We've been only been dining "out" once a week and last night hubby wanted Slim Chicken. If we are eating out I want something better than fast food! I didn't say anything though, and then today he said let's go to Taziki's! Yes! So yummy. The icing on the cake was cupcakes from Cupcake collection - they are selling them at Taziki's in packs of four - including one of my favs, sweet potato, so YES! Hubby is almost out of coffee, he always waits until the last minute to buy stuff, always has done that, but he hasn't clued in yet to the fact that waiting till the last minute these days might mean we run out. He tried to order it at Sam's to be picked up but couldn't get a pick up time so I put in for some at Kroger and pick up is tonight - but the problem is, will they actually have it? Or will I get an email saying they are sold out? We shall see!

At home we didn't get flurries but the Briley parkway area got some. That frozen fog this morning was something, glad I did not have to be out in it.

I tried Kroger pick up about 3 weeks ago, when I logged on it said earliest pickup was a day out. No problem so did my very short list only to find it would be a week out! No Thanks and heck no on delivery that was not much better. I thought about Whole Foods, figured I'll give it a try in a few days because I'm low on freggies especially. Crazy yes on what you can't get and what still is not on the shelves. I don't know if I said this already but yesterday I drove by Donelson Publix mid afternoon, the parking lot was mobbed.

Nothing around here, since it is Wednesday I will order from our usual mexican hangout that is about the highlight of today.

Stay well and keep on smiling. Off to hit the peddlar, maybe I'll look for your walk post.

So.....did you see that brief snow squall yesterday? I wouldn't have believed it myself but my entire work team (who is all over the place - Nashville area and the counties around), we were all on chat talking about it! And this morning, freezing and frost! They say don't plant before the 15th April, now I wonder about all of those who planted early due to be stuck at home.

Had a Kroger pickup on Monday and a Publix walk through, couldn't get everything so I have an Amazon Fresh delivery today - and will still be missing some things. I suppose I can try Target at some point. Crazy the stuff we can't get now.

My gosh, Chattanooga got hit pretty hard last night!

What a dank, dreary gully washer of a day yesterday was! We get so spoiled with nice weather don't we?

I wondered if you were opening your pool soon, I say put the table and umbrella out and who knows your new chairs may be just what you needed. I had planned on firing up the Weber yesterday, nah, just cooked my rib eye inside. Last week I had take out twice, can't remember when the last time I did that.

Not much going on around here, stay well. Enjoying your walks, peddling along with you and then some.

Beautiful this afternoon for sure! I might go for a walk later. Did my run this morning, got a later start than I should have and then it was too warm for my long sleeved shirt! I worked a little this morning and will work a while this afternoon. Oh and our pool is open! That is essential hahaha! I guess, I don't know why pool stores would be essential but since they are, I am going to enjoy my pool! The water isn't ready of course, in a day or two we will drop a water sample off over there to do the initial test and get the chemicals we need (as we are out of most stuff) and then it will be ready. Of course it is going to be too cool out for a swim but I am eager to just go out and sit by it. My chaise lounges were really old and rotted and we got rid of them last fall. Now we don't really want to go to Lowe's with the hordes of people so we ordered a couple of cheapie ones from Amazon to tide us over for a while, until all this blows over, or for this summer, or whatever. We usually don't put the table and umbrella out but I am thinking we will this year, why not, if we are going to be stuck at home, I will sit out there.

We've mostly been dining out once a week only since we now have a lot of food here and we ate out on the way home from Chattanooga on Wednesday so I figured that was it until next week but hubby wanted Chop House so we had that today. We really love that place.

The cool water method works great, don't know why but it does. I usually only get a breast too. I am dry aging a rib eye for tomorrow, keeping it simple and haven't bought even a rabbit shell.

Nothing much going on around here, take care.

Whoa, 30s this morning! Pretty day out though. I can't believe it is Good Friday and Easter weekend. Everything feels so DIFFERENT. I totally forgot to take the turkey out of the freezer for Sunday. Now I am sure it won't be thawed. I'll have to use the cool water in the sink method to do that. Just the two of us, the turkey is actually just a breast since we won't be having guests. I need to find a dessert. I want Nothing Bundt Cakes or Cupcake Collection but I am thinking instead of getting a piece of chocolate cake from a local place because my hubby loves their chocolate cake so much.

I hear you on using that little bit of anything you have. I am like that with my peroxide. The only reason I have alcohol is I bought a couple of bottles to make de-icer.

I am happy you found a place to take those babies. Thank you. Everyone is so slammed right now, a neighbor here is taking care of newborn possums. I have heard others talk about that place, it was on our list of to go places this spring.

I know, what a difference in temps this morn. Although as warm as it was yesterday, it didn't feel that way late afternoon. I'm enjoying your travelog as you walk, in fact I think I may watch it as I do either steps or the peddlar. I did a dance along a few minutes ago, yikes, out of the pool just this short time has made a difference, plus I'm so used to dancing in the pool that I now have lead feet. Better get movin' for sure.

Oh and I love watching your kitties.

Hi Kelly!!! Laughing at the self quarantine diary, pretty cute! I feel like things here haven't changed for us, still working but much nicer at home. I don't have to deal with traffic and when I do go in to the office, there IS no traffic!

One thing I haven't been able to get in addition to wipes and sanitzer is alcohol. I have a little in a bottle that was here but hate to use it up. I keep looking when I am out, which isn't often.

We did go to Chattanooga yesterday though to take baby critters to a rescue place. There was hardly any traffic - some semi trucks, but not even as many of those as usual, and some cars - but much fewer cars. On the way back from there we stopped at Bites of Europe in Manchester and got carry out, ate it in the car. We love that place. Wish it was closer.

That storm came through last night like a doozy and now it feels like fall out there instead of spring. That cool air and that breeze - gonna be chilly here for a few days.

Saw your pictures of your walk the other day. That area is so pretty.

I had some dried out face wipes that I added rubbing alcohol to and am using that to wipe down stuff in the house. Too bad did not think of grabbing glycerin soon as all this started because you can add that to it for your own hand stuff, you can also add it to your liquid hand soap. If all else, add some water to the alcohol, it is hard on the hands but will work until you can get them washed. (3 cups water to 4 - 10T alcohol if doing a batch, you can also add to that lemon peel and infuse it over time)

I've done pick up a few times too, will do that tonight since our crew can't congregate on the patio of our fav hang out...maybe I can talk them into a margarita to go. I

Stole this from someone who stole it from someone else

A light moment in a very dark situation...

My Self-Isolation Quarantine Diary

Day 1 – I Can Do This!! Got enough food and wine to last a month!
Day 2 – Opening my 8th bottle of Wine. I fear wine supplies might not last!
Day 3 – Strawberries: Some have 210 seeds, some have 235 seeds. Who Knew??
Day 4 – 8:00pm. Removed my Day Pajamas and put on my Night Pajamas.
Day 5 – Today, I tried to make Hand Sanitizer. It came out as Jello Shots!!
Day 6 – I get to take the Garbage out. I’m So excited, I can’t decide what to wear.
Day 7 – Laughing way too much at my own jokes!!
Day 8 – Went to a new restaurant called “The Kitchen”. You have to gather all the ingredients and make your own meal. I have No clue how this place is still in business.
Day 9 – I put liquor bottles in every room. Tonight, I’m getting all dressed up and going Bar hopping.
Day 10 – Struck up a conversation with a Spider today. Seems nice. He’s a Web Designer.
Day 11 – Isolation is hard. I swear my fridge just said, “What the hell do you want now?”
Day 12 – I realized why dogs get so excited about something moving outside, going for walks or car rides. I think I just barked at a squirrel.
Day 13 – If you keep a glass of wine in each hand, you can’t accidentally touch your face.
Day 14 – Watched the birds fight over a worm. The Cardinals lead the Blue Jays 3–1.
Day 15 – Anybody else feel like they’ve cooked dinner about 395 times this month?

It's been lovely out. We've opened the windows for the cats. They love it and so do I. Went to Publix this morning and I scored paper towels and peroxide. Gave my BFF some paper towels and she gave me some gloves to wear to the store. Still can't get hand sanitizer.

We got curbside a couple of weeks ago and then again last Sunday. Maybe we will do that again today. We used to eat out pretty much every meal. What a lifestyle change this has been!

Haha, no I hadn't seen that breakfast schedule, surprisingly, there are a lot of jokes and memes out there on Facebook right now. Lots of worry, anxiety and sadness too, so I try not to get sucked into it too much, though I do at times.

End up not doing any more of the online yoga, did the one night which was so lovely but then I am working working working so nothing is new here other than I am mostly not going to the office so no traffic. I will go the office again on Tuesday, I think. Don't want to but need to do my share.

Went to Kroger yesterday, hate to go there now, I feel so DIRTY when I go there, haha, really because who knows who has touched what stuff and I know the gloves don't really work so I basically just have to be so careful not to touch my face and then use sanitizer and wash my hands very well, etc. So I went to Kroger and forgot one of the very important things on my lists. Ssshhhhh.

Went to the track to run last, lots of young people there NOT social distancing. I fear if people don't start playing the game right we will eventually completely locked down and not allowed to even go out for a walk. And this being spring and all, that would really depress me.

How'd the online yoga go? Think it might be better to "have company" than going solo. Listening to the radio this morn, a mom called in said she and the kiddos were learing a new dance a day. Yesterday it was the electric slide, what a blast from the past to be reminded of that. Watched a video of it, it's still around just called line dancing now. Maybe I'll start dancing on dry land again.

Shelves around here are still being wiped out, maybe this is why...

You likely saw this on fb but thought I'd share it here in case we have lurkers.

I am so confused about the quarantine stuff and what is okay and what is not okay. Read a good write up about the curbside pickup and if it is okay to order food that way. Seems that it is thought to be safe - I was wondering about that. Despite what they say, I am still not 100% convinced but I did go to Starbucks drive thru yesterday so.....We are planning to stay home from here on out, we have just a few more things that we need but nothing critical. We were out so much last week trying to get food since we had NOTHING. My yoga studio did a trial run online last night, I might try to do that and certainly I will try to get out for a walk if the job and weather permit! If they tell us it's okay, I might go to the track and run - that seems to me to be less dangerous than going to the store - last week it seemed okay to go places to run or walk, and I think that they are still encouraging that but like I said, I am really confused about all of this - so much ambiguity.

The wetness continues, tomorrow will be a wet mess. Really? Just heard it might go to 80 Friday, here, not elsewhere.

Glad you were able to get your contacts ordered.

To quote Jeff Foxworthy: Here's your sign. Folks are beyond dumb for sure.

So now they are extending the quarantine again, every new order is 14 days. I am going to check with the Marriott to see if they are under orders to close since they are not open to the public. I pulled out the peddlar from under the desk and using that.

Well, go on out between clouds and rain and grab some vitaD!

Saw a cute picture of a nursing home where the residents are sitting in their doorways playing bingo.

Yup, my ophthalmologist is closed except for emergencies but I called there and left a message and they called me back, got my info and ordered me some contacts which will be mailed. I will be so glad when they get here because then I will at least not have to worry about that for a while. I've seen a lot of people out walking too. Ventured out on my own this morning to walk and run. It's true, there are more people out! That is good. Being outside will help build immunity and helps so much with stress. It was definitely kind of chilly today. So is the hotel gym closed Kelly? I know how much you will miss that for a while, let's hope this doesn't last too long - although some people are telling me it will get worse before it gets better. Praying not, this is going to be so hard on so many people who are not working and will have no income, and what scares me is that people are demanding that factories be closed too - do people not realize that our food and coveted toilet paper come from factories? What a scary mess.

I hope they order your contacts Gloria, yikes.

McNamara's shut entertainment down early. No one made anyone go or perform at least that is how I look at it.

It was just announced all fitness centers are to close this afternoon, wonder if that includes the hotel facilities. I didn't go over this morning because it was storming near by and thought it would have lightening. Maybe I'll drive by later as see, I hate it when I can't go. Indeed, fresh air should be on everyone's radar right now. I noticed this morning as I was driving out more folks out walking.

Have a good weekend, stay healthy!

Wow about the doctor's appointment and waiting outside! I am out of contacts and need to go t the ophthalmologist. Since this is not an emergency I am hoping they will let me buy some contacts on the phone and ship them to me.

I saw on the news that McNamara's went on with their activities yesterday - apparently a lot of people not happy about this but of course there were those who were happy about it too, can't win.

My yoga studio is closed now too. Well, I can still walk and run so that's good!

Per the CDC suggestion, my colonoscopy for Thurs won't happen until mid May. I would have been mad if this delay happened for sure Wed afternoon, sure do not want to waste my tp.

Haven't had a good bagel in awhile, since NY last year. Sometimes I get the mini bagels but then one isn't enough and I cave to another one, and of course it has to have a schmear. When you have something just sometimes, guess you enjoy it more. I didn't think there'd be that many folks out congregating. Wonder how things are today, even at McNamara's. That place was always jammed early on, a couple of times I just got take out. I'm there often enough it is no big deal.

Talked to my daughter earlier, her hubby had a doctors appt yesterday. The instructions were to call from the parking lot to let them know you are here. We will call you and let you in when Doc is ready to see you. Then they unlock the door and let you in, one by one. Funny thing was he was seen on time...first time ever that happened.

Oh, a cream cheese brownie sounds so good! My friend shared her little cinnamon raisin bagel with me the other day, I want more of that! Hadn't had a treat like that in ages.

My company yesterday decided to let us work from home for a while. Hubby and I got out on Saturday but honestly, I felt a little uncomfortable with it - place we went to was deserted when we got there and we were seated in an isolated corner - wasn't even 45 minutes later and that place was jam packed with people and dozens waiting. I can understand why the mayor wants to limit how many people in a restaurant - the kind of proximity I was seeing in that place definitely would spread any germ.

You are a girl after my own heart....I love pie crust and drive folks nuts because I've been known to leave the filling behind, well, most of it. It is worse if the crust is really really good.

I didn't have pie either but I did have a cream cheese brownie cupcake.

Today felt more like late fall early winter, glad it wasn't rainy. Gosh it fell like buckets at times yesterday.

Happy Saturday! And it's Pi day too! Eat all the pi! Haha! Well, it's been rainy on and off but not a washout and I got my run in this morning, locally since my race was postponed until fall. We just ran to the new Whole Foods on Broadway (should have gone there on the way home from work last night since it is less than a mile away). Didn't seem as big to me as the other two stores here but still very nice and didn't seem as busy as Green Hills - traffic definitely was easier but that parking garage was a tough one to navigate. Hubby got himself half a cherry pie from there, I should really have made him a pie, I make good pie crust and pie is easy. But then I would have eaten it all! I love to eat plain pie crust! Maybe with a tiny bit of jam on it if I am being really decadent!
