I saw on a TV program a great idea for the use of plastic soda/water bottles. If you are potting plants in to really large planters you can fill the bottom of the planter with a few layers of plastic bottles with the lids still on and then fill the planter up with with soil. They help with drainage as well as making the planter lighter so it can be easily moved. Works best with shallow rooting plants.

Also, make use of rain barrels to collect rain. Even a good size pot can collect enough rain water to cook beans.

So, "soak/cook beans in captured rain water" is another suggestion. Or "water houseplants with (ditto)"

Save gray water for watering yard. I put a longer hose on my washer to run water outside and then use it to fill rain barrel that I use for watering.

Avoid buying things in plastic bottles, especially water, which is a big rip-off, and when you can't avoid buying them, be sure to recycle.

This is the first game for this team and I thought it would be good if it is a GREEN game. I thought we could list things we can do to be green. List one thing on each post of something that we all can do to be more GREEN. It doesn't matter how big or small list it. It might give all of us some ideas of things we can do that maybe we haven't thought of it. Have fun.

I will start with cleaning with vinegar.
