Wednesday I ran the same route that i ran on Monday and my overall time/distance improved. Now that I have a better idea of where I need to improve breathing, posture, and working on sustaining a steady pace. The one longish hill section of the trail will still be my challenge, but am looking forward to an improvement in my training. emoticon emoticon

Hills can change the game. The 5K I signed up for is flat flat flat. I'm sticking to the easy terrain of the riverside rail trail I started with. I'll move on to hills afterwards (second 5K is a trail run). I commend you for mixing it up early on.

Today I changed my route from an area that was mostly flat to a trail on a Nature Preserve. Boy did my pace time go off track! This was the slowest run to date. I will continue to use this route to challenge myself in preparation for the upcoming 5K race I have signed up for. The trail is mostly shaded and isn't crowded at all. It will be interesting to see how my times change as I get more familiar with the terrain. emoticon emoticon
