Finally starting Week 4 tomorrow.

I got a bit muddled about where I was at when I was away on vacation, and one week I forgot to pack my runners so then I had to regroup to get back on track. I have a trick hip - it's fine once I build up some strength, but that week off meant that it was bothering me again when I started back running. I kept doing the Week 3 sequence until my hip muscles settled down, so now I'm good to go with Week 4.

The hip tends to improve when I am consistent with my running, but I have an eye on it - if it starts to give me trouble as I increase time and distance, I'll be backing off again.

One step at a time!

Zombies, Run! 5K app:
Saturday 8/29: Finished week 4 w/o 3 and was able to run the warm up 5 min and drills and the 15 min free form. Kind of nervous to start week 5 but that is on the agenda for this evening.

Have a blessed day,
Sonya

Zombies, Run! 5K app - Last night I did week 4 workout 2 and jog/ran the 5 minute warm up, did all of the drills, the walk/run intervals, knee lifts and jogged the 15 minute free form. I think I could have gone a little further but stopped - should have kept going.

Have a blessed day,
Sonya

Completed week 4 day 1 last night - actually listening Zombies, Run! 5K app now which is quite entertaining. Last night was a long run but I was able to complete all of it.

Have a blessed day,

Good job! (although I didn't convert km to miles so not sure how far you ran in that time.)

Finished the final day of week 4 today. Here are my stats:

Time: 28 minutes
Pace: 8:10/ km (yay! almost down to 8 min/km)
Distance: 3.43 km

I've been going to the gym for the past 3 years but have never run this far. So, I'm quite happy.

Motivation for others: no matter how tired you feel or what mood you're in, after you finish your run, you'll feel MUCH better. emoticon

On to week 5!

Finished day one of week four today. Couldn't run yesterday due to heavy rain here.
Running for 3 minutes wasn't as bad as I thought. I kept my pace slow. Here are my stats:

-- distance 2.66 km
-- pace 9.48 min. / km

The highlight of my run today? I came upon a fellow runner, in his early seventies. I said as I ran past him, emoticon He's living proof that one is never too old for fitness.

I'll start week four on Wednesday. Little nervous as the 2 minutes running tires me out quick. Best to slow down my pace, I think?

I did my first day of week 4 yesterday. Those 3 minutes of jogging were hard, but I pushed myself to the end. I also pushed myself to walk after the training until I had walked 4 miles. Great workout! Regina

Good for you, PiggyWay! I met some friends after church and we went for a walk/talk/prayer time outside the village of Mackenbach. God kept the rain away until just before we got back to my friend's house. We did a hilly 70 minute walk.

Tomorrow I begin week 5 training. emoticon

Yesterday I didn't do anything. I'm counting that as my "rest" day. Today is a new day and I will get in some training.

Thanks, SuperAce! Yes, I did accomplish my training run/walk. In fact I felt better afterwards.
I am feeling worse today though. No run until tomorrow now.

I imagine a sleeping child in heavier in stroller too.

Sandy ~I hope you were able to get your run/walk in tonight.

My 3 year old had fun but ended up falling asleep in the stroller. Tonight I just walked around the block a few times.

I am doing my first Week 4 run tonight. I have been getting home too late at night to get it done earlier this week.

I don't feel my best, but I still want to try and get it done tonight.

I'm on week 4! emoticon My running is great but it is getting better. The other night I put my 3 year old in the stroller and did some training. I was pleasantly surprised that the running wasn't as hard as I thought it would be. It was hard....just thought it'd be a lot harder. Looks like I'm making progress! emoticon
