So beautifully put Christine. We need to stoke each others fire by participating in the teams thread, by blogging, by commenting. Lets fire up the 2013 with team spirit

Fire-- When we join spark people we are lighting the kindling to our fire.

As we allow the other people and articles, challenges and gathering spark points along the way it adds air to the fire and causes it to blaze.

But it's us who needs to feed the fire by tracking food and exercise and being honest with where we are at. Each up and down is made more bearable with encouragement from others. We all know what its like to be over weight no matter how much it is, the words, comments and looks of others from childhood upwards have burned into our pysche and it takes a lot to ignore those things.

Also as others read your blogs or comments it rings a bell with them and they get a spark too.

Keep stoking your fire and it will keep you and others warm!!!

Knowledge is a powerful thing. Good knowledge helps you to live your life, to enjoy your life to empower you. Spark people has the healthy side of knowledge covered, but there is also another side, just living day after day, and sometimes are days can seem like they are all the same.

This year we are going to experience life through a weekly post of ‘Things Everyone Should Know (TESK) How To Do’ which will give you, I hope, some life enhancing experiences. They are from a website by Marc and Angel, practical tips for productive living. You can jump ahead if you wish, but each tip is full on so I will post them weekly giving you time to absorb the information.

By the end of 2013 we hope you will be closer to your weight loss goal and that you will also gain some basic skills for living a full life.

We need to find ways to actively use are brains, because as the saying goes ‘Use it or lose it’ So why not give it a go, you will be amazed at just what you may not know and what just may come in handy sometime.

Self-reliance is a vital key to living a healthy, productive life. To be self-reliant one must master a basic set of skills, more or less making them a jack of all trades. Contrary to what you may have learned in school, a jack of all trades is far more equipped to deal with life than a specialized master of only one.

1. Build a Fire – Fire produces heat and light, two basic necessities for living. At some point in your life this knowledge may be vital.

Why not share your experiences with this self-reliance tip with your team members by positing to this topic; we can all learn something from each other.
