Lynn, Congratulations on all your success so far!!!

I have gotten better with conscious eating. Now I remind myself to slow down. take my time eating, and to look at the food and enjoy each bite.

I eat at appropriate times and sometimes have a snack in the afternoon if my body is hungry. Sometimes I still emotionally eat.

I've been tracking every single thing I eat and drink every day with SparkPeople's nutrition tracker and it has helped a lot. I realized that my meals were not the problem - it was and is emotional eating and snacking. If I were to always stick to my meal plan, I would always be under or at my appropriate calorie count.

I lost two pounds the first week, one pound the second week and another pound this third week. I haven gone up by a pound or two sometimes during the week, but am able to bring it back down. I really think the 5% Challenge and what we are doing and learning here is helping me.

Conscious Eating is eating slowly - I usually take 20 - 30 minutes to eat lunch and dinner. I am eating at least 2 course with the entree first and then a salad. I have been eating breakfast around 6 AM while I watch the news. I arrange it nicely on a tray and take it to a TV tray.

You are eating at an appropriate time like a routine meal time. Yes, and lately I have been have a snack with afternoon tea.

How did that work for you? I am at my lowest weight in 20+ years, within a pound of changing from obese to overweight BMI

Did nutrition tracking help you have a weight loss that week? What method did you use to track?

Yes I did lose weight. I kept a manual journal and know the calorie counts by heart.

Conscious Eating is eating slowly and without distraction, listening to physical hunger cues and eating only until you're full. You distinguish between true hunger and non-hunger triggers for eating. You are eating at an appropriate time like a routine meal time.
