There is also the Feaster Five in Andover, MA on Thanksgiving morning. I will be running that one. I believe there are still slots open. (Bonus: Matt Damon comes most years.)

Awesome I'm really glad I signed up for it, it will be my first 5K.

This is what I want to do too. If I were in Boston I'd sign up for the Susan G Komen Race for the Cure (breast cancer). http://www.komenmass.org/Club/Scripts/Home
/home.asp I'm out west and hope to get in shape for the Hartford Race on June 1. I wish I could handle one now, I'd go to Amherst. Maybe next year!

In loving memory of Jim W., killed at age 57 by diabetes caused by food addiction.

I always go on cool runnings to check 5ks. I am not sure where you are but in May there is one in Gardner Ma at Fitness Concepts. They always have the money go to a good cause. One year was for a food pantry and another year was for kids who wanted to get involved in sports but couldn't.

It definitely depends on where you are. I'm in southeastern MA, and we have a ton coming up... I also head into Providence and Pawtucket for a lot.

If you run, you are a runner. It doesn't matter how fast or how far. It doesn't matter if today is your first day or if you've been running for twenty years. There is no test to pass, no license to earn, no membership card to get. You just run.

I don't know where you are and how far you are willing to travel. I have signed up for a 5K in Amherst, the Daffodil Fun Fun, on April 28. The proceeds with benefit Big Brothers/Big Sisters.

The non-profit agency I work for is planning a 5K run/2 mile walk for November 2 in Forest Park in Springfield. I'm helping plan this one!

I like to check out Running in the USA and Cool Running for upcoming 5Ks and seek out the ones that raise funds for good causes.

Hi guys! I'm planning to sign up for a 5K in the spring or summer so that I have a goal to work towards as I start to get back in shape! Does anyone have any recommendations for fun and/or scenic 5K's in Massachusetts? Or 5K's to raise money for a good cause? Thanks so much!! :)
