I'm a new obese (obese according to the BMI on this site). From birth until about age 33, I was in my perfect weight range.

Now I don't know how to dress or how to lose or what to eat... I just don't feel like myself and I want to be me again.

My Goals:
My ultimate goal is to lose 50 lbs. Because I picked the WORST time of year to start a diet I figured better start with 5 lbs in 2 wks and 10 lbs by New Years Eve!

My Program:
Counting calories for a minimum healthy diet. No soda (ouch!), more fresh fruit/vegetables and appropriate portions with 5-6 "meals" a day. Ultimately, I'd like to find some activity everyday but realistically I will start with every other day 30 mins or more of walking or yard work. I have a fence to replace so I have no excuse.

Personal Information:
My name is Stephanie. I'm recently married to a great guy who loves me just as I am. I'm born/raised in San Antonio but lived in Phoenix for 4 yrs. I have 2 kids who don't live with me. My youngest daughter (#3) is a straight A middle school student who looks so much like me (when I was her age). She's one of the reasons why I want to change my lifestyle to a healthier one and because when I look in the mirror, I don't recognize the person I see.

Other Information:
When I lived in Phoenix, I loved hiking and I know there are some places to hike in the hill country, I would love to find them and get back to that. Along those same lines, I would love to start camping. I have asthma which is why I'm so bad at exercise - it's been my crutch. But I won't let it be anymore...

    Welcome to the EE team!!

I’ve belonged to a lot of teams here on spark-- i really do believe that the Emotional Eaters team is one of the very best, it’s a great group of people- very supportive and encouraging-- and it is very refreshing to talk with people who "get" what you're going through!!

Spark has a lot of great tools, and you will learn which ones work best for you. The best tools are the people tho, always willing to lend a hand, an ear, or a shoulder. That has made a world of difference for me. I hope you have the same success!

~~best of luck to you on all of your goals!!!

Starting on the treadmill is A-OK! We all have to start somewhere! When I started C25K it was on the treadmill and I moved it outside in the 3rd week! Good luck and I hope it goes well for you, let me know if you have any Qs!
