Here's to a healthier, thinner, well-rested, full of energy me!

I am a work in progress. Each day, each hour, each moment I come closer to the me I will be. Even in failure I learn how to proceed to the next success. I will not be my own worst enemy any longer.

Fitness Minutes: 13,486

My Goals:
My main goal is to be healthier, but ultimately I want to be fit by 50. I am 48 years old and I am working hard at getting back to a tone, fit body. I not only want to lose the extra pounds (about 30 so far and another 30-40 to go), I want to be toned and tight!

My Program:
I am using the Spark nutrition page to keep track of my meals everyday. I don't usually use the supplied menu but have found the recipes to be wonderful and use them often. I drink a protein shake every morning (never been a breakfast eater and it is unhealthy to skip which is what I always did). I go to a trainer every Tues and Thurs. for an hour of pretty intense weight training. I walk most weekends with a friend about 5 miles up and down the hills in our rural area. I also go to a combination weight/pilates/step-aerobics class (1 1/2 hours long) on Saturday morning. My husband is a wonderful support system and urges me on all the time.

Personal Information:
My name is Lauren. I live in the Sierra Nevada foothills in N. CA. I am married to a wonderful man. We have four children (our 3 sons and one daughter) Three are all growed up and on their own! One son at home. I teach 6th, 7th, and 8th grade at a Community Day School. It is a one room school house.

Other Information:
I love to watch my son play sports! I love to read! It is my passion. I am an official Harry Potter geek. We have a 5th wheel trailer and travel every chance we get. I love to cook and have lots of people over. The perfect day for me would be sitting by the trailer at Bass Lake or the Russian River with a book after a long walk with my husband and son and before I cook a delicious, but healthy, meal.

    Thanks for the comment on my blog. Today was day 2 of level 1 for the 30 day shred. I thought I had been working out a lot and I was in good shape. LOL! Well, not so much.
