I live in rural northern Maine on a farm of 70 acres. My farm is home to lots of different animals and gardens, I love roses even though this is not the best place to try to grow them! I enjoy growing my own food in my raised beds and big garden, my berry patches and orchards provide me with lots of fresh fruit in the summer. I hope to retire soon so I can enjoy more time on the farm.

Update, I retired on July 1st 2016, love staying on the farm and getting things done!

My Goals:
I am getting back on track with a more healthy weight, and eating habits. I need to try to sleep more, not sure if that will be possible since I work nights. Last but not least I will to get my organization back in my house and yard!

My Program:
I have been tracking my food since starting in March of 2014, I weigh in once a week and take measurements once a month. I also have been monitoring my blood pressure several times a week. As I progress through SparkCoach program I am staying motivated towards healthy eating and exercise. My Fitbit keeps me on track to getting 10 K steps a day. I am now moving towards other goals working on my house and barn to pick up and get more organized.
I had a little setback in October 2014, I was diagnosed with ITP and put on high dose prednisone, so no weight loss for 3 months, the good news is that I didn't gain weight either! Mid January I was taken off the prednisone and now I am losing weight again!

Personal Information:
Maine is my home

Other Information:
I briefly signed up for SP back in 2011 after reading about SP in a magazine, but never went any further on the website until March of 2014

Thanks for reading & seeing my blog. I would love to live the life that you have, on a farm. I was 8 when we left our little farm in MN So I don't have much memory of it. When we got to CA, we had a commercial acre so we had goats, chickens and rabbits. I loved the goats, the kids were so much fun to play with.
I am in the process of learning how to plant in the planter. I already read where I goofed in planting a veggie that will over shadow other plants. I have brought in quite a lot of lettuce, nice to know there is no pesticides or GMOs to worry about.
Have a great weekend, a Spark friend, Betty emoticon

Thank you for commenting on my blog! :) Yes walking sure does make a difference. It's all the exercise I need right now and it's totally free. Although it's getting pretty cold now in Minnesota. I'm looking up places I can walk indoors. Also, wow, Northern Maine looks gorgeous
