Believe in yourself. Keep trying. Never Give Up. You Can Do It.

Many things in life are unpleasant. Most are far more irritating than the day to day process of losing weight, and few yield comparable benefits. Controlling your weight holds the key to a reward no amount of money, no degree of knowledge, no position of power or influence can bring: a longer life and better health to enjoy it more.

Hi! I'm Donna - I'm a 45 year old single mom and business owner - struggling with weight issues my whole life. Now I own a cafe/coffeeshop with yummy desserts and great soup/sandwiches so it's been even harder for me since we opened last August! To anyone who's reading this profile - nice to "meet" you, and good luck!

"Every night before you fall asleep, give heartfelt thanks for the wonderful day you just had (no matter what kind of day you had). Think about the next day, and intend that it is going to be wonderful. Intend that it is going to be the best day of your life. Intend that it is going to be filled with love and joy. Intend that all good is coming to you and everything is going to flow perfectly, etc. Then when you wake in the morning, BEFORE you get out of bed, again declare your intentions for the day and give deep thanks as though you have received them all. As you do this, you will begin to create your life deliberately, and you will experience firsthand the power that is within you to create the life you want."

A stranger is just a friend I haven't met yet. --Will Rogers

"People often say that motivation doesn't last. Well, neither does bathing. That's why we recommend it daily." ~Zig Ziglar

"what you're for"
WHAT we say to ourselves makes ALL the difference in our outcome. If you can only remember one MIND STRETCH, keep this one constantly in the forefront

"what you're for strengthens you, and what you're against weakens you"

Make a conscious decision RIGHT NOW to STOP saying what you don't want and START saying what you do want.

What WEAKENS YOU
I dont want to be fat anymore
I miss eating dessert
I never have any time to exercise
Ive only lost 5 lbs..

What STRENGTHENS YOU
Each moment of each day presents an opportunity to move towards being fit and trim
I choose to have dessert in balance with all of my other personal choices
Each day Im given the gift of 1440 minutes, allotting 30 minutes for exercise is easy and rewarding
How cool is it that Ive been able to burn 17,500 calories off my body

Thinking and saying what you really want establishes an automatic shift in your mind which then pulls you in that direction. A subtle shift in thinking makes all the difference in the world. (this came from mypetfat.com)

Our Deepest Fear

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.

Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.

It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us.

We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant,
gorgeous, talented, fabulous?

Actually, who are you not to be?

You are a child of God.

Your playing small does not serve the world.

There is nothing enlightened about shrinking
so that other people won't feel insecure around you.

We are all meant to shine, as children do.

We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us.
It is not just in some of us; it is in everyone.

And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously
give other people permission to do the same.

As we are liberated from our own fear,
our presence automatically liberates others.

    Hey, thanx for the comment.

Yes, the Hacker's Diet discussions are pretty slow at the moment, but membership is growing pretty fast, actually.

I've been adding a lot of interesting links - they're oriented toward data-hungry geeks, LOL
