    Hello Heather, How are things going? I am finding that SparkPeople is very helpful in motivating me to eat right and to exercise. I think it's fun to track the calories and the work outs, I like the little reports you can get and see how I am doing. Hope everything's good with you.

    Hi,

    I've just added you as a Spark Friend. I started on Spark a year ago and went from 348 to weighing in now at 279 (had a 2 month detour that chunked some weight back on). I went from not being able to walk 400 yards without wheezing to being able to walk five miles quite comfortably. Just by walking a little bit every day (I started with twice around the block). I ate within my calorie range, often near the top end, and had very modest exercise goals (15 minutes a day), as I knew that this would be manageable.

    The first month was tough, as I had a lot of cravings, but I toughed that out and then I had build great habits that really help.

    Just keep using these tools every day and you will be really happy. If you want, check out my blogs from last January for a clearer picture of what it felt like at the time. And hey--the first time you don't lose, don't panic. The correction the following week (or week after) makes up for it. Also--get a before picture right now! I really wish I hadn't waited. It's great to be able to track progress. I took full frontal, side, and back and do that every 10 pounds or so.

    I feel so much healthier--I can actually run for the bus (as long as it isn't more than two blocks--go up stairs without wanting to die, dance for an hour, and much more. Oh yeah--I can put on my pants one leg at a time, instead of having to sit down to do it. Bonus!!! And you'll be able to do that too, amazingly quickly. Give yourself this gift of health--you totally deserve it.
