I finally made my DONE statement:
I am DONE worrying about what others think of me
I am DONE going to the big girls section to shop
I am DONE being a wallflower
I am DONE feeling like I'm not worthy of other peoples time/attention because of my size
I am DONE being mad at myself
I am DONE making excuses
I am DONE settling
I am DONE being tired
I am DONE being winded walking across the street
I am DONE with hurting knees
I am DONE with putting crap into my body (goodbye cupcakes)
I am DONE being ashamed
and most importantly I am 100% absolutely and positively DONE being someone other then myself. I've been hiding in this puffy outer shell for FAR too long! I'm DONE being the fat girl!

Well where to begin. When I first signed up for SP I really didn't have a whole lot of faith so I put minimal information up here. Now that I see this is my new "home" I guess I better put a little more of myself out there for all of my new and future friends!

I'm Heather ...I'll answer to Heather, Heather Jo, Jo, Joey or any combo thereof. I'm a thirtysomething single mommy to a super smart little boy. Since he was born I have tried to instill in him what proper nutrition is. I purchased the Dr Sears L.E.A.N. program for him as a toddler and it showed him the way. Now he is near vegetarian status and only sees his Dr for his yearly physical. I realized somewhere along the way the past few years I had forgotten completely to take care of myself and MY nutrition.

When that sweet little face looked up and told me I had a big belly it was a real wake up call. I think that was my "Aha" moment. I realized I had to do something. My mother was also recently diagnosed with diabetes. She began eating the way her doctor instructed and I thought I would go along with it to make it easier on her. I realized that eating the way she was I wasn't feeling snacky or anything. At this same time we started a food log at work (my company is on a health kick and trying to make everyone a little more fit). So I added the two things together and started tracking all of my food. It's amazing how when you're honest with yourself you really see the light.

The site I had been tracking calories at was kind of on my nerves with their "grading" system so I gave SP a try. So, here I am! Since I signed up I have "met" some of the most supportive people. I love this place! I'm a very competitive person so the fact that I'm basically competing with myself to meet my goals is EXACTLY what I needed!

I know that this is something I can stick with because it's not a diet but a lifestyle change. I'm already feeling better and have more energy. I know that with SP I will meet my goals and be the mother I want to be. I want to be able to run in the park and play with my son before he's too old to do those things with his mama.

My Goals:
* Drink at least 8 glasses of water a day

* Work out at least 30 minutes a day

* Look good poolside in the future!

* Eat more fruits/veggies

* Track EVERYTHING I eat

* Enjoy my new found energy

My Program:
I track everything. Decreased calories, increased proteins and am following a somewhat Mediterranean style of eating (working my way into it at least). If I don't want to see something on my nutrition log then I won't put it in my body!

Personal Information:
I'm a 35 year old single mommy to one wonderful little boy who inspires me daily.

I started out 130 lbs overweight and plan on celebrating when I reach my goal! I don't plan on it being a short road but I have the map to get down that road now!

Other Information:
