So I've been trying to lose weight for forever...but I'm the typical yo-yo type who goes to food for comfort and what have you. But I'm here to change that now.

I do a really good job hiding my weight. When people guess how much I weigh, it's usually 150/160. But it's time to face the facts and know that my weight is increasing at a very alarming rate. Just a couple months ago I was 178, and now I'm bordering 190. I'd like to get down to 110...but I will be more than satisfied if I reach 130.

My goal is to go into the Air Force and serve as an officer. However (for obvious reasons), I'm not as physically fit as I should be. I have one year to train up and work to improve my overall physical fitness before I head off. I'd like to be able to run a 10k without stopping (I don't care if I run 5 mph! Just keep going...) before next year May, so I've been trying to run at least 2 miles a day right now. If any of you are runners and have any tips for a beginner, I'd really appreciate it!

Other than that, I'm extremely friendly and completely open to talk to anyone about anything. So ring me up sometime if you want to talk.

Fitness Minutes: 591

My Goals:
By next year, I want to be able to run a 6 minute mile, do 100 push ups, do 200 sit ups, be able to run a 10k without stopping, and look good in a dress!

My Program:
Right now, I'm eating lots of lean protein and some simple carbs in the form of vegetables and fruit. My total calorie intake is around 1000-1200. I'm doing this in 4 phases of 6 weeks, so every 6 weeks I can eat a little more of a variety of foods. Right now though, I don't eat anything that has white flour or simple sugars, like potatoes, cereal, pasta, etc.

As for exercise, I'm doing sit ups and push ups every day, and I'm trying to run for at least 20 minutes as well. I've also made a goal that I have to be outside and active for at least 2 hours a day besides the normal exercise routine.

    Welcome! Joining the Air Force is a great goal, and you're doing a super thing by getting fit before you get there. Then boot camp won't be nearly as hard. You'll be at the top of the class instead of lagging behind, struggling to catch up. What a great plan. I wish you the best of everything being so fit can bring.
