I am 32 years old and currently in the worst shape of my life...again. :(

I thought joining a Biggest Loser type competition in fall 2011 would get me going. I lost 11 pounds but injured my arm in the last week and quickly fell back into bad habits once the competition was over.

I am currently 63 pounds overweight. I am medically obese. I have rolls and pouches that are just plain ugly. I don't usually have time to look at them or think about them too much, but they're there just the same.

I know that my quality of life has diminished as my weight has increased. I tire easily and as a result accomplish less each day. My eating habits are not a good example for my kids. I am relying on a "do as I say not as I do" attitude to enforce their healthy eating habits. When they question why I get to eat a peanut butter chocolate chip granola bar and they have to eat a banana or apple before they can have one, I excuse it by saying, "When you are a grown up you can eat whatever you want." This is NOT how I want to parent.

Eating a healthier, more balanced, & proportionate diet means: parenting by example, feeling "better" physically, & enjoying more energy.

Being more physically fit means: having more energy to dance with my kids; having less risk of back injury when lifting my 7yr old; less fatigue to cloud my thoughts when I'm writing; less risk of numerous health complications; less stress & more choices when clothes shopping; and yes even a better sex life (that takes energy too!).

For those reasons, I am starting over again on this weight loss journey. I am tired and stressed and really do NOT feel like doing it, but I'm doing it anyway. I will probably suck at officially and consistently tracking my calories and exercise - but I will watch my calories and I will exercise.

I'm tired of cringing whenever I see a picture of myself and am reminded of how much I've changed - for the worse. I hate thinking that people who meet me now have no idea that I wasn't always this fat. (Yes, I said it: FAT FAT FAT. Does that shock/offend you? Tough! It's reality & trying to come up with "gentler" words to describe it is just a waste of time.) So it's time for me to quit feeling crappy about it and just DO something about it! And keep on doing something about it (no matter how many times I fall) till I am the healthy happy me I know I can be.

My Goals:
Ultimately, I want to weigh between 160 & 170lbs, shrink my waist to 35" or smaller, increase my endurance and increase my strength. I want to be able to run a mile in under 12min, drag 200lbs dead weight for at least 50ft, and carry 55lbs for 1mile.

My Program:
I am joining a 6 week Lose To Win program at my gym. It's their version of The Biggest Loser. My hope is that by the time it's over my momentum will carry me forward to losing the rest of my extra weight.

Personal Information:
I'm from east county San Diego, CA.
