It's the 1st of a new month and time to try something new. I am starting a blog for the first time to help me reach my weight loss goal. I have resolved to post something every day of this month. I am hoping this will help me to be accountable, get support, help me to gain a better understanding of what's working for me and what is not on this weight loss journey. I am looking for new friends here who will help me to stay accountable. This is not the first time that I resolve to work hard to lose weight. I already know a lot about what it takes to lose the weight and keep it off. But I need to find support in staying on track. I am hoping that a daily weight loss blog in addition to other things will help.

A little bit about myself. I am a woman. I am in my mid-30s. I am married. I live in Canada. My height is 5 feet 3 inches. At my heaviest I weighed in at 191 pounds. I currently weigh 186 pounds and my goal is to be at 140 pounds, so I have 46 pounds to lose. I want to lose the excess pounds for good, not just reach a certain weight by certain date and then later re-gain, which is what usually happens. There are many things I do to help me lose weight, but the main ones are writing down what I eat, counting calories, exercising regularly, clean eating and cooking at home. I do not strictly follow a particular diet. Rather I try to follow an overall healthy but varied eating plan that I hope to be on for the rest of my life. The main thing is that I meticulously track what and how much I eat and try to stay within a certain caloric and nutritional range every day. I will share more details in future blog entries to come.

While I am writing a public blog, I want to maintain a certain degree of privacy because while I want to be very open and honest about my feelings, my struggles, and many other things in my life, at the same time I don't want my co-workers or random acquaintances finding this blog, identifying who I am, and then getting a secret scoop on those parts of my life that I never meant to share with those particular people. This is why while my blog is public, I do not plan to (for now at least) post my pictures or share my real name or other identifying information. I am hoping that by remaining anonymous I will be more at ease to be genuine, open, and share personal things here.

Welcome to my page, my blog. I am excited to meet new people here and share in everything (the good and the bad) that comes with the journey of weight loss.
