My name is Laura. I have been married for 4 years and have a beautiful 3 year old daughter who means the world to me. She is the best thing I've ever done in my life and I want to be sure I'm healthy enough to spend many, many more years with her.

I just finished my first Half Marathon, the Lincoln National Guard Half Marathon, on May 3, 2009. It was a great experience and one I will definitely repeat in the future!

My plan for half marathon training was that with all the running I was doing, the weight would just fall off...LOL...let's just say that's not the way it worked out. Lesson learned: no matter how much I run, I cannot eat whatever I want! Now that my first half is complete, I need to get back to regular strength training (something I really have missed since I slacked off about 6 weeks ago) and eating a healthy diet.

My Goals:
Get my weight down to 135 and keep up with my strength training! I feel so much better when I'm doing regular ST and I like the way my body looks so much more.

My Program:
I will run 3 days per week and do strength training 3 days per week, with one day per week complete rest. I need that one day per week to keep myself sane!

Personal Information:
I am a 38 year old mother of my wonderful 3 year old daughter. I am happily married to a great man.

We live in Nebraska; where I've lived my entire life. Despite the crazy weather here at times, I love being near most all of my family. I work full time and am lucky enough to work from home. No, I don't keep my daughter at home during the day (cracks me up that people actually ask me that - obviously people who don't have kids)...I'd never get any work done!!

Other Information:
My daughter is the light of my life. I want to set a good example for her. I want to teach her healthy habits while she is growing up so she never has to worry about having a healthy lifestyle - I want it to be second nature to her.
