__The Ten Commandments of Permanent Fat Removal

1. Thou shalt honor and believe in thyself.
2. Thou shalt move thy booty. Move it and move it some more.
3. Thou shalt never go hungry again. Eat small meals and healthy snacks throughout the day.
4. Thou shalt stock the fridge with the right stuff - the fruits and vegetables of the earth, the melba toast of men who walked before us.
5. Thou shalt honestly write it down. If you bite it, you must write it.
6. Thou shalt weigh and measure thyself and thy food.
7. Thou shalt drink enough Holy Water to frighten Noah and map out all the restrooms in thy village.
8. Thou shalt not deny thyself a treat or two now and then.
9. Thou shalt not covet thy neighbor's plate.
10. Thou shalt not eat out of misery, boredom, anxiety ... but should they over-indulge, forgive thyself immediately.

My realization:

I have come to the reaIization that if I am going to succeed in this venture , I have to be 100% totally committed. I thought I was, but since it has been getting harder and harder for me to do the right things, I guess I have to admit that I wasnt. Sure, I can motivate others, which I hope I have done, and I can be positive to others also...just not with myself. So, I sat here this morning and made a promise to myself...and now all of you, to give 100% all of the time. I was probably giving about 85 -90 %, which I could continue to pull off but will that help me in the end, nope, I dont think so.

Today is the new beginning of my life ....each new morning is a new day to be the best, not to look back at past failures, they are gone and I cant do anything to change them, expect learn from them.

Tomorrow isnt here and we cannot ever count on tomorrow.
I am in the here and now, this very moment and any other moment that the good Lord decides to give me, to do the best I can.

I will not beat myself up as I have done in the past....that just seemed to make me not want to anything...went into a failure depression, not good. If I slip, well....I will be given another moment to do better. I go in my moment....what are you gonna do with yours?

I am now going to set my goals and ticker at 5lb increments and go from there. Each one I reach will determine the next step. It's all up to me, where and at what weight I will feel comfortable.


Okay, well I took month or so off....havent done too bad except for chips and soda downfall. So I am back at it again. I realize we all do things at our pace and our own style and I have to just now that this is a lifetime journey, once again.

1 tsp----quarter, tip of thumb
1 Tbl----silver dollar, whole thumb
2 Tbls (1/8 cup)----one sandwich cookie, nail polish bottle
1/4 cup (4 Tbls)----golf ball, large egg
1/3 cup----compact, espresso cup
1/2 cup----1/2 orange, small fist
1 cup----baseball, light bulb
1 oz meat/cheese----computer disk, tube of lipstick
1 oz snack food----rounded handful
2 oz meat/cheese----3 fingers, 4 dominoes
3 oz meat/cheese----deck of cards, computer mouse
4 oz meat/cheese----palm of man's hand
1 muffin or piece of fruit--tennis ball
1 bagel----6-oz can of tuna

My Goals:
I would like to loose around 20-25 lbs, wherever I start feeling comfortable.
I am not one for watching calories so this will be a challenge for me, I would like to get back into Yoga again, enjoyed it alot when I was doing it a couple years ago.
I am doing this for myself, for the first time I have really ever tried to diet, so I need all the suggestions and help and support that I can get.

UPDATE: 3 Months:
It's amazing to me how much more I pay attention to the foods that are going into my mouth. The junk food that I am no longer eating on a daily basis, and giving up the diet soda of 3-4 cans a day. Now I have to admit that occassionally I will still have a soda or go for the chips but I am truely making an effort.
We are in control of our own behaviors, not somebody else. I used to blame my honey for me being PLUFFY, all the great foods that he would cook, but he wasnt forcing any of that food in my mouth. So now, we are both trying to do better.
I love being able to help others, give them confidence, support and motivation, a shoulder, an idea, anything that will help.
I certainly dont know everything there is to know about doing the right food choices but it is getting easier and if I can help one person from quitting, then thats great.
