I am 35 years old and I have 3 boys and 1 girl ages twelve to six. We are a homeschooling family. My husband pastors a small church in our area and owns a business with his brother.

Like most people, I've struggled with my weight for years. Once my BMI moved into "obese", I began to have medical problems. Instead of working to get the weight off, I wanted a quick fix for my problems thinking I'd get them taken care of, AND THEN start to worry about losing the extra weight. By the time I reached 200 pounds in 2004, I was fighting Thyroid issues, I had gotten my Gall Bladder removed, I was fighting Pancreatitis, I was tired all the time, my Liver was beginning to shut down... I needed a whole new body!!

I managed to lose about 15 pounds on my own, but it seemed my body was comfortable around 185. I started SparkPeople in March 2006, but I was to busy to become immersed and that was before all the awesome improvements SparkPeople has now made. In February 2007, I came back to SparkPeople and was able to create a cool SparkPage and join some awesome SparkTeams!! They've made all the difference in my weightloss and lifestyle change!!

My highest weight was 200. My SparkPeople starting weight in February 2007 was 186.4. After trudging through the ups & downs of life, here, at the beginning of November, I'm at 152.2. I plan to continue working hard and losing weight no matter what obsticles lie in my way.

I've lost 34.2 pounds at SparkPeople, but 47.8 pounds since 2004. I've only got 27 pounds to go to get to my goal weight.

By the way, Greg said before I started losing weight, that when I get to 130 pounds, he'd buy me a good laptop to replace this piece of junk I use now, LOL! So, I've only got 22 pounds to go to get my laptop!! WooHoo!!

My Goals:
My goal is to find ways to be active without artificial exercise methods. I'm interested in learning to jog; making time for pick-up games of tennis, softball, basketball; hiking; etc. Any kind of "real" activity.

My Program:
I like to workout with my dumbells and I enjoy any kind of "real" activity. I eat in the middle of my calorie range, trying to get in at least 2 fruits & 2 veggies each day.

    Thanks for your encouragement on my page, but as you will see, back up to 161 this week. went away for the weekend and had a stressful return. Am back into it today. Haven't been to the gym since Friday, but will be making a long stop there tonight on my way home. How are things going with you. I know you were frustrated there for awhile, feeling better?

    Was checking your chicken pot pie dish out..I am not much of a cook so can you tell me if my interpretation is correct..When you say put a pie crust over the mixture and leave pan you mean upside down and bake it that way...Excuse me for the dumb question...
