===== During my years as an active member of SP I've made vast changes in my lifestyle and in my life. My reason for joining the site was to get healthy following illness and surgery. Tracking nutrients on SP's tracker was a crucial component in regaining health initially. Then losing pounds was a goal... and to this day remains not my goal, but a side effect of healthy eating and exercise. Many joined here with weight loss as primary goal. I don't think of weightloss as a 'goal' per se. To me, it represents a measurement of health status, and is a by-product of the true goal: good health from a healthy lifestyle. Healthy living has been and will remain my focus with the choices I make. One fact stands out as important to me: a true lifestyle journey never really ends; the more we improve, the further we can travel! According to sources, SPARKPEOPLE IS CLOSING THE SITE AUGUST 2021. The site has been wonderful for many and during my 14 years here I met so many great people, made many positive changes BECAUSE of making full use of the site. But my journey does not depend on the site, will continue. Perhaps the time here is in fact why I know my lifestyle journey is a lifelong exploration, a series of discoveries. We meet friends hete. People whom we never will meet, for the most part. And now? Sone will find ways to stay in contact. Others will be people who stand out in our memories for their support and friendship. What is imortant as we each continue any helpful changes in lifestyle is to: ENJOY the journey! Go for it!

My Program:
a. Walk.

b. Daily stretches and exercises.

d. exercise videos for limited mobility! Found some on YouTube that are great!

...* Proportioned balance and lots of color served bikini-plate style!
...* Moderation,
...* Enough. Remind myself to eat (I tend to forget).

I use the Bikini Plate 'model' of meal-planning. Light on everything but those nutrient-dense veggies.

Personal Information:
Love music, learning. Am a self-described 'friendly recluse'. People always laugh, but... somehow the description fits just fine!

A mother of 2 grown sons, grandmother of 5: I find every obstacle a challenge that empowers me... and grounds me in optimism.

Other Information:
I may be the Queen of the Turtles in terms of visible change, but the changes I'm continuing to make INside are HUGE! Between medication, my stage of life and fibromyalgia there is probably an explanation for my pathetic metabolism; but explanations are no excuse for not being optimistic that persisting will eventually get me to the goals (which do include weight-loss) that I have and will set for myself here at SP.

Life is a journey.
And everything we do enhances our private journeys.

    Are you interested in a Challenge?

    The Biggest Loser goes for 10 weeks. It consists of 10 teams participating in weekly Fitness and Nutrition challenges. The Spring challenge will be getting started the beginning of March. It consists of fitness and nutrition challenges that are often in a form of a game. If for some reason you cannot do a challenge then they are modified to meet your needs. Often we do the challenge in a game form, we have BINGO and TIC TAC TOE or seasonally themed. For Winter we had Help Santa Fill His Sleigh, Run Rudolf Run and Super Bowl.     Hi Sam.
    As the end of the year nears, just wanted to pop in and wish you a Happy New Year.
    10 years on Spark dear friend. A long time and we just have to keep on with staying
    healthy. I hope it's not too cold for you. I am sweltering here with high humidity, 83%
    and hot, hot hot 33 Celsius today. nearly 100F.
