    Birdzgal,

Welcome to SP. I'm pretty new here myself so not sure how much good advise I have.... but "keep on keepin' on" is the best advise I've been given about this journey I am on to get healthier. Just like when we began our new "full-time RV'er" lifestyle 4 years ago, I see my goals for a new, healthier lifestyle as something you learn as you do it.

I really like all the articles and information that is available on SP. I signed up for regular emails to be sent to me about topics I wanted (needed) to learn more about. I always read the topics that come to me in my daily emails from SP. In addition, I try to explore their Lifestyle and Health topics whenever I have a little extra time.

When we were new to the full-time RV lifestyle we made a lot of mistakes along the way. When we goofed up on something we would always say "What did we learn new today?" and then move on from there. I'm taking that same approach to eating healthy and getting regular exercise. If I goof up I try to look at it as a learning opportunity and don't let it stop me from continuing my efforts..... the "keep on keepin' on" advise someone so wisely gave me :o)

Getting some form of exercise every day is a goal I strive for and have found to be extremely beneficial. It can be hard to "get going" but once you do it gets easier as each day goes by. And if you miss a day, don't beat yourself up... just get back on track, even if it is only 10 minutes here and 10 minutes there. It all adds up.

Since we live (and travel) full-time in a motorcoach my indoor space for exercise is very limited. I really enjoy walking, hiking and also riding my bike. But when the weather outside is not cooperative I pop in my Leslie Sansone "Walk Away the Pounds" DVD and can choose from a 1, 2, or 3 mile walk that can be accomplished in minimal space.

I just turned 60 and have lost a total of 40 pounds over the past 5 years..... most of it before joining SP back in August. I'm very happy to have found SP as I still have another 40 to go. The one thing I'm not doing is setting a timetable for myself. I focus on keeping it moving in the right direction and taking it one day at a time. I plan and make the best choices I can for TODAY and tomorrow is a new day.

    Hope this helps.

I am brand new at this and wondering if you had any great advise.
Your story was incredibly interesting. My husband and I have
retired recently and always wanted to travel so this year we began our journey! I just need to be in better shape to take those dawn walks!
