Oza has a way of looking at me letting me know I need to get moving toward my goal. She is one of the joys in my life.

Hobie is my other reason to take walks. She is also striving to become more fit and has gotten me motivated to do the same. She as been told by her doctor as I have by mine that we both need to get some of this weight off of us. I know we can do it together.

    Hi Virginia, I hope you don't mind that I added you as a friend.
    I have lots of flax seed recipes that I haven't made as of yet, however I add around 1 T. (I don't measure, so maybe more?) to my smoothies & to my oatmeal. It doesn't really alter the taste of food - maybe there's a slight nutty taste. If you want me to email flax recipes, I'd be happy to send via sparkmail.

    Here's one to start you off (disclaimer: remember, I haven't tried it yet).

    Flaxseed muffins
    This recipe yields 7 muffins, each muffin containing 25 grams of flaxseed.

    * 5/8 cup (150 ml) all-purpose flour
    * 3/4 cup (180 ml) ground flaxseed
    * 3/8 cup (90 ml) brown sugar
    * 1/2 Tbsp (8 ml) baking powder
    * 1/2 tsp (3 ml) nutmeg
    * 1/2 tsp (3 ml) cinnamon
    * 1 1/2 cup (360 ml) skim milk

    Bake Muffins at 350F for 30 minutes.
