July 5, 2009: Hello, I'm Claire. I'm 23 years old, and am trying to get in shape after not being able to get into a fitness and nutrition routine in college and gaining about 30 lbs. I have not been below a size 10 since I was in middle school and would love to be an 8 or a 6. I hope that using SparkPeople can help me get there!

July 17, 2009: So far, I've lost 4 lbs! It's amazing how quickly you can drop a few pounds with just watching what you eat and exercising. I'm finding that the key to really losing some weigh is lifting weights. I think I've lost more than 4 lbs of fat, because I've gained quite a bit of muscle. I finally like looking at myself in the mirror again.

September 15, 2009: It is possible that I might be down to 158, which is what the scale at the gym is telling me, and my mom's oooold scale is telling me. However, my mom's scale is OLD, and I'm not sure that I trust it, and the scale at the gym was recently broken for a while, and when it came back all of a sudden I was 158. I don't know what to believe!!! Regardless of whatever my weight may be, I am feeling pretty great. I have been ok at trying to get into the gym a few times a week, and continue to eat fairly well. Life, overall, is pretty great, and I think I am still making progress in my weight loss. I am trying not to lose too much too quickly, because I want to make sure that I can maintain whatever weight I end up at.

Anyway, for the time being, I'm going to say that I'm 162, but it doesn't really matter.

October 29, 2009: Update Time.

Things are still going fine, though the scale hasn't budged in a while. I'm not too concerned about it. I think I need to set some goals for myself though:

159 lbs: mani/pedi
154 lbs: dinner out at nice restaurant
149 lbs: new pair of sneakers
144 lbs: new sexy dress
139 lbs: shopping spree!

Also - I just realized that I've met a few of my original goals - I am now a size 10, am stronger, and have actually been jogging at the gym!

Fitness Minutes: 1,629

My Goals:
To be confident in and proud of my body, to lose some of my belly (but not all!), to be a size 10 or lower, to get stronger and gain endurance.

My Program:
I am tracking calories Monday through Friday (and on Saturday and Sunday if it is convenient) and am going to the gym at least 3 times a week. I hope to keep my calories/day level at around 1500.

    i'm really restless today for some reason...i've been pacing around the house (my bf says i'm making him nervous...sigh).

    i even looked up what it would cost for a flight from here to thailand! :) (alas, i'm too broke...but i was pretty tempted)
