New Day's Resolutions

Tuesday, December 30, 2008

Ok. The year is winding down. I'm kind of glad to see it go. It brought some heartache for me, and it's easy to pick out the high points. I'll not be mourning the passing of 2008. A lot has been said about New Year's Resolutions, though, so I thought I'd throw my opinion into the ring.

Since I've been on Spark People, I've come to realize that the resolutions we make on any one day of the year--even if it's the first day of the year--don't amount to much unless those same resolutions are made every day thereafter. The resolve to improve my lifestyle has brought me back every day since late May. Renewing our resolutions every day of the year is what gets things done. That's the only way resolutions can become part of us. . . . Guess I didn't need to tell anyone that. You all know it, anyway.

Awesome comments - So very true and heartfelt. I'd love to see you share it on the new Talk it up thread - it would be a great way for everyone to read and think about starting the year. Not everyone makes the effort to read the blogs.
    Have a great 2009 - Resolving everyday!
