Little Changes & Small Victories

OK, I am going to claim some things right now - or make some claims? Which ever, but here it is...

I think my "click" hit. "Click" you asked. What does it sound like when you turn something one, or put something solidly in place? Click. Some people refer to it as "the tipping point".

What am I talking about?

In the last 2 weeks I have had to admit to myself that my body is changing. It isn't much smaller, but it is smaller - a bit more toned. Well, yesterday I found out, and unexpectedly that I have actually lost a couple of pounds. Me. Yes. Quite unexpected and very much a motivator. I mean, if that reading on the scale hadn't been what it was, I might be feeling even closer to cashing in the whole weight loss idea. But, I think it clicked. So now I can keep on doing what I have been doing.

Meanwhile, the motivation has kept me moving toward one of my short term goals. I have 8 more days left on my personal challenge. I am going to workout a full 7 times over the next 8 days. Then I can honestly say that over the last 7 weeks I have worked out 6 times each week. I can't celebrate that yet, but I am looking forward to it.

I am also encouraged. Since tracking food has also been pretty consistent, I just might be able to figure out some things that really work for me. (If I take the time to peruse them, but that does come later. One goal at a time.)

Here, let me share what my DH reminded me about... the scale numbers are not the things to be celebrated. The work, the setting and meeting of goals, and the positive changes I am experiencing in both my body and mind are what I need to celebrate. He also shared that I am in a much better mood and tolerate stress so much better when I am working out regularly. He has helped me understand that my time on the elliptical - well, really the time under my headphones with my favorite music where I tune out the world and run my own mental movies - is my "self care" and meditation time. It is so important to the rest of my life. If for no other reason, I must keep on doing this for health reasons.

    What a great place to be and worth the work it took to get there. We have to be worth the effort it takes to be healthy and whole and celebrate each moment. Bravo and keep sparkling.
