Be Still

...wake up at 7:00, rub my blurry eyes, trot to the potty, turning my curling iron to ON as I pass the sink... another day! Once my bladder is empty, it's hit the floor running to get out the door on time. No time for breakfast AGAIN...grab a.....grab a....oh, never mind, just forget breakfast time left! Out the door I go...another day on the run.

"Hurry is not OF the devil...hurry IS the devil." "Hurry is not just a disordered schedule, it is a disordered heart!" (John Ortberg) BUT LORD, HOW DO I GET IT ALL DONE?

Could it be that God allows problems in my life just to get my attention? ...force me to the desert places where I need to drink water. (Heb 2:3) What if the noises in my life: computers, the TV, children, grandchildren, my boss, my husband, my addictions, worry, sickness, SUGAR, or CARBS are keeping you me from hearing God's voice, his whisper? What if He has something important to tell me but I'm just too busy or too preoccupied to hear it?

"Be Still and Know that I am God!" he says to me. BE STILL!

As I quiet my heart I begin to hear his gentle urgings, something begins to happen to my slows. As I quiet my heart something happens to my focus...its OFF the noise and back on Him. As I quiet my heart, He speaks. It's His affirmation THIS time. It's His strength I can lean on. It's Him not me.

I can do it. It's different this time. I have the tools, I have the determination and I have HIM in a way I've left untapped in the past! " BE STILL and KNOW that I am God" and I am NOT! Listen, He wants to speak to you too!
