The "Cruise Ship"

Sunday, July 26, 2009

For the past couple of weeks the organization that I work for had a mandatory 2 week training for all us employees. The training was great and it really created a strong camaraderie between all the employees. The problem was that I felt like I was on a cruise ship. They feed us every couple of hours. It was candy, cookies and donuts everyday, not to mention the pizza and pastas for lunch. I already new I was weak when it came to temptations, but seriously it was awful. I didn't even try to keep track of my calories, my guess is that my calories were off the chart. Hence my recent weight gain.

Today was the re-start of my healthy life. So I decided to try something a little different rather than the same old treadmill workout. I grabbed my jump rope and jumped for 45 minutes. I couldn't believe how much it made my sweat. I felt like I ran 3 miles on the treadmill and it was so much fun trying to see how many jumps I could do before I tripped up. Then when I went to log my work out, it said I had burned over 500 calories!! How cool is that? I'm going to try and jump rope at least a couple of times a week. My goal is still to be a size 4 before my birthday in December. But thanks to the "cruise ship" I'm a little farther from my goal, but I feel re-committed and ready for the challenge.
