Six Months With Sparkpeople

Well, it's been six months since I've started with Sparkpeople. Time enough to see that I have some things in my life to work on more. Sparkpeople has taught me some great lessons. The best lesson is to never give up. I am not giving up on being fit and healthy.

I see so many of my Sparkpeople classmates that have lost 20, 30, 40, and 50 pounds on here. I am so happy for them!!!! They are living proof that this program can work for me.

To my teammates-- I feel that I have let you down. I do have energy and spirit for this, but I keep allowing my emotions and old habits to get in the way.

Since this is my 6-month anniversary with Sparkpeople(I love this site and feel grateful that it costs nothing to be a member), I am thinking of this as a new beginning. I am getting ready to start all over, with the streaks and goals. I am starting at the bottom level, anxious to make my way steadily to the top level and reach my goal weight in reality. I'm not just wanting this, I'm doing this!!!!!!

    OK, THIS is the spunky Coffeecake I've come to know and love! I can tell you're ready to kick some fat cell butt! Focus like a laser beam on your goals, be purposeful with each bite of food, each sip of water and each minute of exercise. Remember to pay attention to different kinds of progress besides the scale...inches, the fit of clothes, rings getting looser, and the new health assessments on the SparkPeople goals/records page (push ups, sit ups, energy level, etc.). I think that could encourage you in your journey.

    You are great to re-commit with such energy and focus and I do know that you will continue to succeed, family, life changes, and emotions aside. I am personally glad to have your energy and encouragement as part of our emoticon . I will be right there cheering when you cross your finish line!

    -- Don't forget -- it is not the total pounds lost, but the percentage of loss relative to the start weight. Hard as it is for anyone to achieve major life change of activity and diet, a pound loss for those of us who are still very obese, is relatively less of our body weight than for others. We don't tend to compare percentage loss or drop in BMI -- but those would help you to feel in a better comparative position.
