Weight is fluctuating

I have been stuck in about a 3- to 4-pound rut, up and down, no matter what I eat. So I decided I needed to change some things. I took an instructional class on how to use the upper body machines at Planet Fitness. I have used them twice so far, four machines each time, 3 sets of 15 on each. I still do the abdominal machine and the back machine. I'm up to 80-85 pounds on the abdominal, and 70-75 on the back machine.

I also started using the arc trainer, I can do 20 minutes now and it says I'm burning about 250 calories. Then I do the elliptical for about 30 minutes. I do about 3 minutes on each level up to level 5, and then back down again until I reach level 3 where I do most of my minutes. We'll see how this helps.

I got down to 282, and now it just keeps going back & forth, does not want to go below 280! (My goal is eventually 249.) But I'm not giving up. They tell me I need to build muscles because muscle burns more calories than fat, or something like that. So I'm working on that now, and mixing up my cardio routine.

On a side note, my poor dog is now also overweight due to lack of exercise due to winter. So I have been instructed by vet to substitute 1/2 cup of her food at each meal with green beans instead of dog food! That cracks me up, because green beans is what I eat when I really need to fill up but not eat a lot of calories, you can eat like a whole bag of frozen green beans for about 130 calories (or something like that).

    My scale is doing the same thing. You've been in this a while, though. I've only been doing it since the first of January. I'm doing everything right but my scale is just teetering the same stupid place. Oh well... I'll just keep on, cause it can't stay on forever. I would love to work up to where you are with exercise!

    I have an idea. How about you go walking with your dog in the snow. It is an excellent workout for you and your dog. Have fun with it.
