What a fun day yesterday was. It started out as a normal Monday, if there is such a thing as normal. I planned on doing some house work then going to work at a Quilt Show our quilting group was sponcering.
Then a friend of mine called: “Want to go to the quilt shop with me I need some matching fabric for my quilt?”. Like I’d say “no”, so off we went. What beautiful fabrics had come in since last I was last there. Fabrics to me are “Eye Candy” and there’s no calories in "Eye Candy"…WOO HOO… I found some gorgeous oriental fabric. I have always wanted to do an Oriental Quilt so of course I just “had” to buy some of that beautiful fabric.
I got back just in time to start my job assignment at the quilt show.
OMG, did the afternoon ever go fast. I hardly had time to really look at all the beautiful quilts. 126 of them, also shown were: Wall hangings, Art Quilts, Wearable Art, (Jackets, Tote Bags, Purses even Aprons). The ballroom was array of color and talent. There were demonstrations, a raffle quilt, and a table filled with some of our Charity Quilts that will go to about 15 different charities all around the city. (That’s the main purpose of our group, Charity Quilts. But the Quilt Show featured our own personal quilts).
Here are the pictures of my 2 entries. The pictures aren't very good, but will have to do. My ribbon Quilt is not even right side up..Oh well you gat the drift, I hope.
For those of you that don’t quilt, do your self a favor and someday go to a quilt show just to marvel at their beauty and the work that goes into them. If nothing else it gets you out and walking. Maybe you’ll even get excited about a new hobby and start learning how to quilt.
