I feel as though I'm making some real progress here. Last week was very stressful. I had to take DH to the hospital with unusual pain in his chest. DH had a double bypass 6 years ago and has been in hospital every year since for congestive heart failure, cardiac ablation, angioplasty, pneumonia etc. he is 52 years old! This time it turned out to be nothing more than a pulled muscle but it took 3 days for the dr's to eliminate pneumonia and blood clot in the lung. Every time I have to take him I think"I wonder if this is time he isn't going to come home." He really needs to lose some serious weight but nothing I've said or done in the past has motivated him to do it but I tried again and he seems agreeable to making the attempt. I showed him around the Spark People site.
Back to MY progress. In the past when I was this stressed it would be a fat and carb take out free for all. Stuffing my anxiety and feelings as quickly and as often as I needed. This time my calorie count did go up somewhat but nothing like before and I managed to stay in a reasonable range. I kept telling myself that I didn't want to follow in his footsteps. I even burned up some calories walking the long hospital hallways. I am making progress!!!

Glad to hear it wasnt anything serious this time. Hopefully your husband finds what works for him as a motivation to lose his weight. You are doing better by the sounds of it. Being able to manage your calories during a stressful time like this one is great stuff! emoticon
