Doesn't it just drive you crazy....

Doesn't it just drive you crazy when your Sparkfriends change their profile image and it takes you a while to recognize who they are again? Just kidding, I love all the updates. That is if you can get SP to let you upload new pics.

Here are a few more of my ride up to the lake....

The trail follows the Greenwater Creek, it is about a three mile climb resulting in a 1600 foot elevation gain.

Tree roots frequently hold the trail in place, but they also create obstacles in the trail.

The slope sure looks steeper and the trail much narrower from the back of a horse.

The trail passes lush green pools of water formed by the creek...

and through lava flows with an alpine background...

to arrive at a lake surrounded by rich grasses and spectacular surroundings.

Big discovered elk droppings in the grasses, for some reason, he thinks its grain (and I kiss that nose, yuk!).

Our last goodbyes to the lake for now and Big is arguing that he is not done eating, yet I have the nerve to ask him to pose in nose deep grasses. I'm such a mean mommy. Smiles

That treck reminds me of the treck I did recently through the Andes at the back of Santiago. It was my first experience horse riding and I loved it! It was quite scary at time as there were some steep ravines, I just decided not to look down and put trust in the horse and look ahead and keep ducking under the branches! emoticon

Beautiful pictures! I used to love horse camping when I lived in california! That is how my brother met his wife! She was out with her friends, he was out with his friends. Both had been camping for three days, so were not looking their best. It was Kismet!

I miss camping and going hunting with the family. They are going in the dead of winter this time so I'm not going.

absolutely stunning pictures! I want to ride where you do!! I just moved my boy to a new state park and just started riding him again (off since mid Feb due to founder). State park is the largest maintained prairie in WI. Hope it is as pretty as your views!

Oh, so beautiful! My horse would trip over those roots and we'd be tumbling down ye olde mountain side.

Uh, nothing like where I went hiking for sure.

I love Big's ears in the 2nd and 3rd photos...I'll be there JUST as soon as I win the lottery.

I entered a contest to win a 3-horse trailer...and then realized that I don't even have a vehicle that could pull it...maybe I should also look for a contest to win a truck...
