The last summer holiday, Labor Day Weekend, has come and gone, where oh where has the summer gone too, seems to me that the whole year is flying by way to fast..... Fall emoticonmy favorite time of the year is fast approaching with it’s cooler weather and the changing colors of the leaves.

But before any more time goes by I want to say emoticonto all of you that said Prayers, sent Good Wishes, Goodies, Uplifting Comments on my friends feed and my Spark page. They sure helped tremendously in keeping my spirits up. So emoticonfriends and team mates for all the encouragement. I appreciated your support more than you know.

It has been a few weeks since that dental surgery. All of my lower teeth were extracted and some bone grafting done, then implants inserted to eventually hold a new dental plate. But 1st it has to heal, that’s going to take at least 3 months and several more dental visits. There was a bit of a set back as I was allergic to some compound that was used, so my lips, tongue & face swelled while my mouth burned like it had Cayenne Pepper sprayed into it. Thank God that has now been rectified. But for the last few weeks I have not been able to chew anything, mostly had soups and smoothies. But last Friday I was told to start chewing very, very soft foods.

DH and I decided to celebrate the Labor Day Holiday and my being able to chew some, by going out to dinner for the 1st time since my surgery. We went to the Cracker Barrel where I ordered the Apple Herb Oven Roasted Chicken, Carrots and Gr. Beans. I knew I could eat the veggies as they are cooked till very tender. I actually managed to eat about 1/2 of the moist thigh meat and it tasted so good. I actually felt like a normal person going out to dinner. DH also enjoyed it as he hasn’t had much variety in his meals as of late. So I hope that as soon as I get used to this “floating lower dental plate”, (which refuses to always stay in my mouth), I’ll be able to tackle some other soft cooked meats and fish. It will be a long time before I’ll be able to enjoy the salads that I love and my favorite Prime Rib meal.

BTW: If you go to the Cracker Barrel Restaurant for a meal, I’d highly recommend the Apple Herb Oven Roasted Chicken served with sauté Apples, they are so yummy.
