A memorable Evening:

We had a great time last night. Our 58th Anniversary is coming up soon.

So as part of this years celebration we were invited to an Anniversary Mass given in honor of those couples in the Archdiocese of Denver that were celebrating their 25th, 50th and 50plus years of marriage. The longest married couple listed on the program has been married for 72 years, that’s way awesome.

The Mass was held at the "Cathedral Basilica Of Immaculate Conception” in Denver with our Most Reverend Arch Bishop Charles Chaput officiating. The Cathedral, built in 1906, is absolutely beautiful. It's just plain shameful on our part that we haven't been there before now since we have lived in the Denver Diocese since 1974. Pictures won't do them justice but I took some of the stain glass windows anyway. This picture is of the main alter sanctuary with the stain glass windows above it.

The homily was so motivating it brought tears to my eyes. Our DS, chauffeured us to Denver as DH hates driving there for the traffic is unreal. Besides DS works there, is use to it and knows his way around. Our youngest DD also went. I wish our other kids could have come, but they are living elsewhere or out of town.

Afterwards we walked around Larimer Square a bit then went to the "Cheesecake Factory" for dinner. Believe me, that’s not a place for Sparkers to go, but absolutely delish. I ordered Chicken Madeira that came with fresh asparagus, mushrooms and melted Mozzarella cheese. The killer was the sauce that was all over it and yummy. DH ordered Orange Chicken which is way to sweet for me. We all brought home over 1/2 our dinners plus 1 slice of Oreo Cheesecake to share when arriving home. That cheesecake was beyond words and all I had was a small forkful. Believe me that was enough!!!!!! Needless to say I didn’t stay within my calorie allotment yesterday and probably not today either as we’re having leftover’s for dinner tonight.
Fortunately I have finally gotten my Stationery Bike fixed and am starting to get back into that. I’m definitely back on it today. I need to work off some the Cheesecake Factory calories you know.
