Busy Moving Day

Saturday, January 15, 2011

Today my daughter moved out and into her own apartment. I am so excited for her, it is right downtown where she wanted to be. I got in a great workout carrying boxes and furniture first out to the moving truck and then moving those same boxes and furniture up 3 flights of stairs! I came home really tired and have decided to take the rest of the evening off, laying around watching tv. Tomorrow I need to start into my own packing so I can move into my new home down in Florida.

I am struggling to stay on the good path of a healthy lifestyle. I am hoping that with no one else in the house I can rid the house of all the "bad" food in order to push myself back to the better path. I have been pretty good about getting my workouts in every day and I am getting back on track with my water consumption. I know what I need to do, I feel like I am succumbing to the stressors of missing my husband (he is in LA), packing up my home of 20 years taking only the things that have meaning, and getting ready to move to sunny Florida. I am trying hard to not be stressed about all of it, I do know that it will all work out in the end. I deal with it well during the day but my downfall is in the evening when I finally sit down to relax. I think I will set up some "good" choice munchies to grab when I get to that fidgety point of the evening.

I can do this and I will keep trying each and every day. Tomorrow my mini goal is to eat 3 decent meals, 2 good snacks, and drink at least 8 glasses of water.

Oh...Florida...yippee...what part? Hopefully close to ME! Leaving a home of 20 years has to be stressful. There are SO many memories and if you are like me so much STUFF. We moved from our home in Pelican Landing where we had been for 10 years...and I swear it was like the twilight zone...I packed, and packed, and moved and moved and yet another cabinet I opened was jammed to the max...I told the hubs that someone was sneaking STUFF back in there as fast as I was moving it out. And this is EMBARRASSING...I still have books in our huge garage that have never been unpacked and we've been in this house for 10 years...yikes! emoticon Now that is scary! I'm just now getting to the part of unloading things I no longer want or need. It's a great thing that we opened the consignment gallery, I'm the biggest contributer to providing the stock! emoticon

Just take it slow and easy and know that this too shall pass! I'm sending you lots of energy and well wishes for your exciting NEW adventure!!! emoticon emoticon emoticon

Good choice munchies is a great strategy! And all that activity is great, too! Hope you love Florida. I do. -Marsha

You certainly got a lot of cardio in moving boxes out and then up three flights of stairs. Good move on taking the night to rest up before getting your packing started. emoticon I know you'll do just fine. I haven't moved in 43 years and boy it will be difficult packing up when we decide it's time to get moving .
Best of luck to you in Fl., you will make new memories there. Will be you on Sparks. Has this Mn. weather bothered you coming back from Fl. I know you knew we have plenty of snow---got to let you get all the enjoyment out of it one more time. Theres way more than I need already for the year.

Wow sounds like a busy weekend for you. I'm glad that your daughter found a place in the area she wanted to be, and what a nice Mom you are to help her load and unload that moving van.

I hope that your move to Florida goes smoothly and that you are able to settle in quickly.
