Ups and Downs

A busy day today.... I went swimming this morning, and did an additional 10 minutes so 40 minutes total which was good. I then popped into a local hair salon and got my hair fixed a bit. I've had terrible hair for ages now after a home dye kit disaster. I haven't actually been back to the hairdressers since the repair job that was done on it in July. So, I had some cut off and had another colour put on and it looks nice, but it's definitely thinner than it used to be. At least now it looks shiny and not wiry.


I then came home and have done some writing! Yay for me! I didn't do a full hour of writing, but wrote the beginnings of another story and re-read and made some edits on my last week's piece. I am going to try to up my game and write in the week too.

But I measured my waist and was appalled... 44 1/4 inches?!? How did that happen! Anyway, I'm going to measure it once a month. I know you can measure your arms, legs, neck, hips etc. but at the end of the day, it's my waist that is my biggest concern. All the others will shrink as they want to but I really want my waist to be in a healthy low diabetes risk range and I am way out of that now.

I enjoyed my writing though but I'm now absolutely freezing. I've sat at the computer for nearly two hours and because it's just me in the house, I've not put the heating on... and I'm freezing! I have just got up and grabbed a blanket! I need some of those fingerless gloves I think!

So, my new piece of writing was based on me really and my current circumstances kind of... I think I will expand it some more to look at how I am moving towards my transformation.

Tonight I'm hoping to get Mark revved up to play on the wii again. Hopefully I'll get some time to play on the Biggest Loser game too. Tomorrow night we have a babysitter booked, the daughter of a work mate of Mark's. We're going to a friends' place for wii, wine and hot tubbing. I will try to not drink too much wine, not nibble except on vegetables (and save my snack calories for the evening) and drink water. They are big drinkers so I will have to be careful. Tomorrow in the day, I'm going to the spa with my girlfriend for a pedicure... wonderful!

I think I'm going to amend my short term goal of losing 5kgs before the end of the month as I'm not sure I'll make it... or perhaps I should keep it in place as a motivator. I'm really not sure which way to go!
