If tomorrow never comes...

Friday, May 20, 2011

I don't know where this rumor came from, but I keep hearing that the world is supposed to end tomorrow!

So this got me thinking (can you see the smoke? hehe)...

If the world is ending tomorrow what do I want my last meal to be? If I don't have to worry about the scale tomorrow, or how upset my stomach would be. If I could blow my whole paycheck because really... what's the point of paying bills tonight ;)

Of course the first thing that came to mind was Chinese food. But lately, Chinese food just hasn't tasted as good as it used to. Hmm, Mexican it is! But then I remembered that my hubby doesn't really care for Mexican and I should probably consider him too since it would also be his last meal ;) Then I try to think of something we both love... Got it! One of those Hibachi Steakhouses- you know where they cook in front of you while periodically throwing pieces of food at you, trying to land it in your mouth?! Such fun, and the food has always been fabulous! I can almost taste it now: Filet Mignon, Scallops, and Shrimp - Yummy! And not even all that unhealthy if I were to skip the rice!

And on the way home, of course we'd stop at a DD/BR for a Reeses Peanut Butter Cup Sundae :)

----------

In all honesty, it wouldn't take the world ending for me to have this meal. I spend about 97% of my time extremely focused on a healthy lifestyle (minus a few mishaps here and there). An occasional indulgence isn't cheating, it's part of living :)

YUM! I'll join you for that dinner! Though last night we had an awesome one - braised chicken with mushrooms and zucchini with some really nummy beer my hubby brought home from his trip and fresh pineapple for dessert.

Heh, I told my friends that if the rapture happens today, and I'm gone & they're still here, they can have my stuff. I'm hoping it doesn't because we have a great trip coming up tomorrow.

ps - love your background. The "pinky" cat reminds me of my first cat. Cute!

So funny, planning to muse about treat meals in my blog later today!

Hmmm . . . I'd probably go eith sushi plus pizza plus maybe some fettucine Alfredo. With garlic bread, thank you very much. Ooooh. Make that stuffed, double crust pizza . . . And something with peanut butter & chocolate for dessert.

    This could be a dangerous blog . . .

My mouth was watering because I love those places too, but haven't been to one since my 24th birthday...long ago! It really would take the end of the world to get my hubby there with our son, but I like that you ended with a positive...occasional indulgence is part of living!

I love it! And I agree with the occasional indulgence. After all, as you said, it's part of living.

Sounds like a great food plan!! If you have brown rice, then it's all healthy except for the sundae which it good for your mental health.
