Whoops... 2lb gain over the weekend but I'm not going to let it get to me!

Well, after a lovely weekend away, I’m back at work... and should be working but I’m blogging instead! However, I will keep this to a short blog as I really should get on with this process work that I’m meant to be doing...

The weekend was fun! We went camping in Penticton, BC. It’s about 5 hours drive inland and the weather was a bit warmer than home, but on Saturday we did have a couple of short showers, just to keep us on our toes in the park.

The Elvis competition was great. Some of the amateurs were really good and there were a lot of locals who did a great job. The winner was from Australia and he goes on to the Ultimate Elvis competition in Vegas this August. The girls did really well all day. We bought a bubble machine that lasted a couple of hours before Gwenna broke it and they also did some colouring and dancing.

On the Sunday we went to the Event Centre for the finals competition which was a bit long for the girls. Mark had to take Gwenna out as she was being a bit fussy and Kerensa was also very fidgety throughout the show.

I weighed myself today and I’ve gained 2lbs since Friday! ARGH! Oh well, it is to be expected as I didn’t make good choices food wise and we enjoyed our mojito wine a bit too much. I did go for two interval sessions and did a 7.2km distance on Monday morning. I hope to continue to increase my distance and durations – perhaps once or twice a week before the half marathon in mid-August.

Hopefully after Mark’s mum leaves us I can get back on track diet wise. I want to really push hard to lose as much as possible before the trip to Australia at the end of September. Exercise wise – I am doing more than I ever have before. My daily dvds in the morning have stopped though so I should try to restart doing those again on the mornings that I don’t go for the C25K sessions. There are some still in the cellophane that I’ve not even opened yet.

Anyway, it’s time for me to get back to work... sigh. I wish I was still on holiday – oh! I only have 2 or 3 days in the office before we go away again! Woo hoo! I have all of next week off work as we are going to Vancouver Island for a few days and then Mark’s mum leaves on the 8th.

    I'm glad that you had such a good time. A 2lbs. gain not that big of a deal, but you'll get back into your groove of things and it will be gone.

    A couple of pounds can be due to sodium, hormone changes, or any number of reasons. But good for you for not letting it get you down. It's a very temporary bump in the road, and with all of your exercising, it will be gone in no time!
