Day 1 of the Biggest Loser Challenge! I’m excited!!!
I weighed in today at 184.6lbs... down 3.1lbs since my Training camp weigh in last Wednesday! I feel fantastic as a result! Yesterday the very same scale showed I was up quite a bit and I think that was due to the sodium from two Japanese lunches over the weekend and the Greek meal out on Saturday. I am hoping to get to 170lbs (77.3kgs) by the end of the 12 week challenge. This will be tricky as I have 3 weeks in Australia to manage. I will have to come up with a decent game plan and stick to it. I’m hoping to create a bit of a buffer zone before we go too.
I also think that running a C25K workout the night before weigh in also helps. I definitely drink more water on those days so perhaps it’s helping to flush out all the bad stuff.
My goals for week one of the challenge are:
1. Lose 1.5lbs this week (that’s 0.7kgs).
2. Track all food at the weekend. I’m finding that the chewing gum while preparing food is really helping!
3. Do a minimum of 3 additional workouts in the morning.
So, achievable goals. It would be great to give myself 3 big ticks next week!
This morning I got up 10 minutes early and got some strength training in. I need to focus on that – reading articles about the benefits of strength training has helped with my motivation! And only 10 minutes earlier in the morning is no problem. Tomorrow I’m going to try to get up 40 minutes earlier to do a C25K workout as I won’t have time in the evening.
I need to start planning for my half marathon training. It’s less than 12 weeks to go before the race. I need to increase the duration of my workouts and get with the training plan in my running books. They focus on distances rather than durations, which I think is my next step after completing the C25K program, which I should do in 2 weeks. And I need to remember – it’s not too scary! I’ve done one and if the worst happens, I can walk it!
I feel stronger and more capable now. I need to make sure I maintain focus when I’m in Australia. I will wear my Pandora bracelet all the time with my Viking charm at the top so I can see it whenever I reach for a glass of wine or a nibble of naughtiness!
I’m looking forward to the weekend. I hope to do some more on my treadmill and I want to eat clean and healthy all weekend! I have Friday off so hope to go for a swim and also get a run in. I also want to go through my bulging wardrobe and remove items that I don’t wear and that are still a bit small from my pre-children days. Those, I will bag up and put away for later. I want to get rid of all the stuff I just don’t want anymore. I went through my chest of drawers last weekend and did the same. I want to start fresh and declutter!
I’d be interested to see what other Sparkers think they can do this weekend to declutter and start fresh!
