Instead of my usual personal complaints about my inability to stick with my diet, I thought I`d just write a general blog – taking the focus away from the scales for a while.

Today it`s Wednesday – hump day! And my first 3 day week at work in ages. And I am so happy about it! 4 days is tough as there is not really enough for me to do, but I have been coming in as I was away a lot with my vacation and trip back to England. For the rest of the year, I`m going to alternate 3 day weeks and 4 day weeks – so it won`t feel too bad.

It`s also monthly reporting time so I`ll be busy in the office for the next couple of days. This is helpful as I get very unmotivated when I don`t have tasks that need doing. I think I`m a deadline girl... I work well with deadlines. My work environment is very undeadlinelike. It`s either ``yes, let`s do it now`` or ``put it in the plan for next year sometime perhaps``.

My run yesterday was nice. I worked out how to use the basic functionality of my Garmin watch, although I did turn on some laps which I didn`t really want to do. I will have to learn how to use it a bit more so I can set up the Virtual Runner – so I can help to challenge myself in the half marathon and hopefully improve my time. It was a gorgeous day, cold but fairly sunny. I ran around the edge of Stanley Park... I ran and walked... with an average speed of about 4.8mph. Not too shabby. I was feeling quite tired through it though – but I`m hoping that`s just because I had been swimming earlier – the first time in about 5 weeks I think.

Now my writing has taken a serious dive. I don`t seem to have time for it at all these days. Running does take quite a bit of extra free time but I don`t seem to have any for writing. My whole day off yesterday went in a flash. Admittedly I did go for a coffee with a friend but we were only there for 45 minutes. I need to refocus on my writing. I don`t think I`ve done any for months and months.

The girls are growing up so fast. They enjoyed Trick or Treating on Monday and everyone thought they looked great, especially Gwenna in her cow girl outfit. Tonight Kerensa has her first circus skills class and I have book club after that. I`m hoping Mark doesn`t mind taking Kerensa to her class so I can have dinner ready and on the table when they get home. It`s a slow cooker stew (from the SP cookbook) but I need to get some veg ready to go with it, and maybe some rice.

We are going easy-camping at the weekend – staying in a KOA but in a cabin. The campsite has an indoor pool. It`s further than we normally go as our regular campground closes for the season. However, we will be able to get there quicker as I can just pick the girls up then get Mark on the way out of town, rather than wait for Mark to come home to hook up the trailer. It will also be quicker packing up afterwards. I just hope it`s not too rainy. We can manage cold. I`m looking forward to going to Trader Joe`s again to stock up on healthy readymade sauces and good snacks for the girls` lunch boxes. Does anyone have any Trader Joe`s ``Must Haves`` ? I love that store!

Anyway, I`d better get on with some monthly reporting... roll on 4pm!

This might be why you are good at setting goals and working hard to meet them!! That is an awesome trait my sister friend! Camping sounds so much fun!!!
