I've not blogged for ages. That's terrible. The past few weeks at work have been so incredibly busy but in a good way... it's meant that I've had hardly any spark time. I've been a slack spark friend and haven't sent any goodies or messages in ages. I need to work on that.

This time last year I weighed more... nearly 20lbs more. I was hoping to be over 20lbs less than I am today... I was hoping to get to goal last year. I am really going to focus on getting there this year.

This time last year I drank more wine than I do now. I am also now looking towards a plant based diet to help my family stay healthy. I watched Forks over Knives and decided that it made so much sense and it would be stupid not to cut animal based foods out of our diet. We are in the transition stage and I cook vegetarian meals with a few exceptions as we transform our freezer, fridge and cupboards into solely plant based foods. I'm also attempting to transition the girls away from dairy so am trying to find good substitutes that they like.

This time last year I wasn't a half marathoner! I ran two half marathons last year and am looking forward to another in May. I need to refocus and get my training back underway. My exercise routine was just a swim or two each week and some walking on Sundays with the family. Now I do Zumba, running, circuit training and still do swimming and walking.

This time last year we had just moved into our new house. Unfortunately it doesn't look that different from when we moved in (it's stuck in the 70s) but we are slowly getting there. My daughters are having fun in our neighbourhood and we know a lot of our neighbours now. We are lucky to be in such a great neighbourhood.

I think the biggest change in the last year is with my confidence in my abilities - for example, running half marathons. I never even thought that I could run - I'd broken bones in my knee a couple of times and my surgeon had said to avoid running. I used to get out of breath running for the bus, and admittedly, so far this year I'm not much better now but I am hoping to soon get back on track and run the Vancouver half in a better time than I completed the Seattle half.

This time last year I hadn't read The Spark. I hadn't joined the SP website and I didn't have as many friends as I have now. I've met two of these lovely people and I hope to meet more!

I look forward to what I'll reflect on this time next year - hopefully I'll be at goal!

    I've been a spark slacker too hun, don't sweat it your friends know you care and sometimes life just gets busy!

    You've had an amazing year and its been awesome watching you hit goals and progress. I hope 2012 brings you more great changes

    I've been trying to watch forks over knives but havent managed it yet, glad you enjoyed it, heard good things about it.

    PS. I finally found an advertised job that could use 70% of my skills so that is progress. Got the application in today and fingers crossed over the next 3 weeks because it is within bicycling distance of W's.
