Lost my Spark.

Monday, February 20, 2012

I haven't been here since last year, and I haven't been good in my absence. I know where I lost the was a combination of:

1) meeting my weight loss goal and struggling to refocus on new goals, and

2) being upset by comments focusing on my weight loss and feeling like it eclipsed the rest of my worth and achievements.

So, how to get the Spark back?

I hope that you will come back and start taking those baby steps again. I know that I need to also. I have been in a holding pattern and gained a few pounds back. It's time for both of us to start taking a few of those baby steps.

I am going to work on getting some more exercise and practicing portion control. I usually eat fairly well, but just too big a portion. Except maybe for the Cheetos...

I know that you can do it and maybe this time you can discover and conquer the reasons that comments from others bother you so much. I think a lot of the time they stem from the commenter's jealousy and insecurity.

    You go, girl!!!

If people have a problem with you and they made horrible comments, this is their problem and not yours. Easier said than done, to not let negative comments affect you, but you will move on and forget about these comments. It's up to you to get back on the SP saddle. I, too, had a SP absence (from 2008 to 2010!) and came back feeling the same way. I felt horrible seeing others succeeding with their weight loss goals while I was away for two years not having done anything. It really does affect your mentality. But we all started from somewhere, and instead of feeling bad, which is normal, use this moment of weakness as a reason to continue pushing forward. You are going to hate it at first because of your hiatus, but one day you will wake up and see a trend in positive mentality. This trend will push you even further and then you will read comments of other people finding you as a motivation. Don't give up, make today Day 1 of your new you. Start with baby steps. Good luck!

I lost my spark for a bit due to an injury, and I too am working at getting it back. Don't let those negative comments get to. It's really hard once we reach our goals. Just come here for support whether you feel sparky or not. I think it will start to help after awhile.

    Hi. Welcome back.
Log into SP every day, maybe start tracking again?
Don't know who made the comments, but remember, what other people think of you is none of your business :)people talk, often their reasons are self serving and best overlooked.
    hope you'll find your spark.
